Thank you Amanda! This is making me cry. I’m 63 and have the highest weight ever. I’m weight training and everyone says to eat more protein and I tried and gained 10 pounds. Obviously I don’t know what I’m doing. I will look into your program because I need direction! Thank you so much.
Don't cry girl! I can help! You are not in a caloric deficit! that's your issue! Get your calories in check and you will begin to melt away because you are doing all the other stuff right! Would love to work with you in my LEAN program. amandanighbert.com/lean-program/
You may have also gained muscle mass. Make sure not to just go by your weight on the scale - you need to know your lean mass and muscle mass vs your body fat. Don’t get discouraged! I often gain a bit first when I up my protein and weight training, but then you’ll start loosing fat if you stay consistent. You got this! ❤❤❤
🤯🤯 SERIOUS “aha” moment! When you lose weight and gain it back, you are NOT gaining back the muscle that was lost. Just the fat! 😮🤯 that makes perfect sense and I literally NEVER thought of that! 🤦🏼♀️
I'm so thankful I found your program! My previous nutritionist was vegan and she pushed it on us like crazy. No thank you! I feel so much better eating meat and fish and dairy. You make this program easy to follow and I love the accountability! So thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
I thought I have learned all there is to know about macros, and protein vs. fat. You have made so many new points that gave me the “A ha” moments. Your explanations make so much sense.
I just got my nutrition coaching cert and your channel is helping me SO much! Do you have info on how to grow your nutrition practice? How to work with clients? You are so real and your information is spot on for how I live my life and what I truly want to preach to the people! Thank you!
I appreciate your videos and all the knowledge you share. I have been vegan for 13 years for ethical reasons. In my case plant proteins are my only options. I believe that quinoa, buckwheat and soy have all the essential amino acids. I do eat a whole food plant based diet and eat a variety of beans, fruits legumes, veggies etc. I do take an supplement that has all the amino acids just in case. I get at least 100 grams of protein a day. Some days it's 110 grams. I have been able to sustain that without going over my calories for the day. In the past I was only getting about 60 grams a day. Since increasing my protein I feel so much better. I am building muscle and have more energy and feel satisfied between meals. I think I am on the right track now. Thank you for your videos and breaking things down. I have learned a lot.
An excellent video...thanks! I don't need to lose any weight and have not been watching my protein at all. Right now I'm looking to build muscle and lose additional fat. Will going high protein allow me to do this? Or might it cause me to gain weight? Thxs again!
thank you so much for your information. I learned so much from this video. This really open my eyes on my diet. i will be changing the way I eat. I am a nurse, I see all the disease. It's scary.
What is the layout of the Lean program? Are there daily calls? If so, what time? Are there one group oriented toward european times? Would like more info about the practicalities of the program please! (Did not find answers to this at your website). Thank you!
Hello, thank you for this informative video. I started counting my macros in the last 2 months and have been reducing my weight steadily. But I am worried on which way to eat….less carb or less fat. I have family history of diabetes (father passed away at 67 from diabetes complications). Confused on which macro to concentrate most after protein. Any suggestion?
If you are staying in a calorie deficit and getting adequate protein AND fiber spaced throughout the day then it is your choice! Some people like more carbs and some people like more fat, you pick but manage your calories and optimize your protein!
This is what makes the GLP-1s so dangerous, as you say. Appetite is knocked out. i PROMISE you that NO ONE on them is a)eating adequate PRO and b) doing adequate strength training. An you will be on GLP-1s FOR LIFE.
They're excellent! When shopping look for Tuna Creations (from StarKist) They come in thin packets (not cans) and are very high in protein. They also come in various flavors...I'll mix two flavors and 2 tablespoons of Mayo and dice up a bit of celery, add some tomatoes in a bowl and it makes a great lunch!
