Aw, you missed the grand finale! Right before you turn in the final tutorial quest, sell all of your fuel, supplies, and whatever else you've managed to gather that is under a local deficit. Because as soon as you turn it in, the deficit ends, and you can buy the fuel and supplies back at a fraction of the cost! Neat trick with the drugs and organs, though. I really want to start a new playthrough right now!

How to make money Step 1: do some missions to get some credits Step 2: find a place where they want drugs they have no drugs mean higher sells or some one destroy some pirate port Step 3: find a place where they sell it cheap Step 4: sell it Step 5: repeat til the place stables or pirate port is fix and toda money

2:08 thats my problem right there. The A.I. ships are always faster no matter what ship you have and they always run and are out of range no matter what you do.
Even then the game cheats by giving them back peddle speed thats faster than frigates at full blast. Then once ya get them into a corner they get a super speed boost to retreat off map without taking any damage, lol.@@PapaCheddar
I never really have this issue. If you are getting outran and infinitely kited by stray frigates then there's probably something seriously wrong with your ship builds or fleet comp that you should take a look at. If they're "always faster no matter what ship you have" then your ships aren't designed correctly to account for it. Here's a couple suggestions. I HIGHLY recommend running safety overrides on all your ships. It makes them not only fast enough to catch up to anything in the game (unless your ship is slow as balls) but also incredibly strong in combat at the cost of significantly reducing the time they can be in battle before effectiveness starts dropping. Adding hardened subsystems will mitigate that downside. If you have safety overrides, frigates are mostly useless except for a singular role in packing Salamanders along with safety overrides, which are missiles that will track enemy engine exhausts and disable their thrust so you can catch up to them. I would also recommend specializing your ships into range categories. I like to separate my ships into a Strike group and a Support group (alongside carriers and wolfpack frigates as mentioned earlier). Strikers have weapons in range 700 or less and are generally fast types like the eagle and hammerhead. Supporters have weapons at 1000 range or more plus every single range enhancing upgrade, using slower designs with more weapon spots. If you do this, you can deal silly amounts of damage while never having to worry about kiter frigates as you can simply pick them off with long range support ships covering your strikers's sides and rear while they brawl with other cruisers and destroyers. I'd recommend beam weapons against them on your supports so there's 0 chance of them dodging your shots.
Watched the whole thing and I have a question. Have you ran this sort of thing with Nexeralin installed? I'm asking because I play with Nexeralin all the time. And if there is one thing I noticed about Nexeralin, its that all the factions will start kicking punching and killing each other the moment the game starts. Does the tutorial put all of the faction on faction conquest, backstabbing and war on hold? Because if it doesn't, I could see myself at a disadvantage if I use your method to make me some drug money, while everyone else is in the middle of a multi way sector wide war.
Never used that mod tbh so i have no idea. I think the tutorial locks you into the system until the part of the quest line that has you jump... But im not 100 on that either haha. Sorry 😅. I'd say give it a shot. Would take like 10 to 15 mins to test out.

Turns out Nexeralin completely bypasses the tutorial when you have it running. You don't get the option to choose the tutorial at all. The game just throws you into sector generation and character settings. So the whole smuggling trick won't work with Nexeralin installed.
I was reading a conversation on reddit about this mod. One cat claimed that you can do the tutorial and then install nexerelin on that save file and it won't mess up the game. Another cat refuted that claim 😅 so its 50/50 right meow.

They recently updated the game. I'm pretty sure you can't transverse jump out of the tutorial anymore. But the snuggling past patrols SHOULD still work. Though at this point I cant tell you with full accuracy. Sorry bubba

Kite shuttles are actually good, you can put 2 Reaper missiles on them and then they are cheap glass cannons
