Good luck finding some😊thing to do after 9pm
Agreed, there are a couple breweries in town that will be open for a pint but if you are looking for a “nightlife” Cochrane might not be the best fit. The lack of nightlife does lean towards the small town vibe though.
Great informative video, can you rely on public transport in Cochrane
Hey thanks for watching! I touch on all the methods of public transportation in this video. ua-cam.com/video/axIeG9SAh-Q/v-deo.html I would say that it is possible by combining the use of taxis and the Colt busing. But relying on Colt on it’s own may be challenging due to the construction delays, and lack of drivers.
How about if you’re interested in becoming a real estate salesperson, do you think you can support your life by just being a real estate agent? Thanks a lot for the hints!
Shoot me an email, Id be happy to chat with you about this more.
I work near shepard energy centre SE and i live in cochrane. 45 mins in the morning from heartland and about an hour in the afternoon, hour and a half during rush hour.
That is not too bad at all. Depending on where in Calgary someone lived the commute would be the same.
thank you for the heads up
Thanks for your video! Interested to know more about this small town? If I visit next year , let you know
Please do. Glad you are finding the videos helpful! What’s your favourite thing about Cochrane so far?
@@CochraneAlbertaRealtor I love hiking and water activities! I am living in Hong Kong at this moment! Looking to change my living style! Will visit yellow knife on February and Calgary as well
Very fun, what brings you to Yellowknife?
@@CochraneAlbertaRealtor northern light
That will be such a cool trip!
As someone that is holds the cochrane name it’s crazy seeing a town called cochrane in Canada
That would be pretty crazy. When are you moving? Haha it sounds like fate.
What are the skills paying jobs in cochrane And is there warehouse jobs there
There is a ton of work for trades with all the new construction happening!
Unfortunately, there are not plenty of jobs in Cochrane, except low-paying retail or fast food chains! Definitely, no jobs that cover the high cost of living/rent/housing!
He is wrong on all his comments how can it take 45 minutes to get to Crowfoot & Costco Balzac is not the closest one, traffic is bad now because of construction, people living on the south side use number one hwy for Calgary & can be downtown in 30 minutes which is way quicker than people living in south Calgary, He is making these valueless videos for money only.
Hey Barrie, Thanks for watching, I would agree that Crowfoot is not 45min away normally. Add in winter driving conditions ( a good bit of our weather) and rush hour traffic and it absolutely can take that long. While there is a Costco closer ( Beacon Hill) I'll trade an extra few minutes driving for a less busy store with shorter lines. This video is there to highlight that Cochrane's location does come with a few challenges, and yes, I do feel that Cochrane is a much better location than south Calgary and its not even close.
@@CochraneAlbertaRealtor I comuted from Cochrane Lk for 10yrs summer winter makes little difference except for extreme weather conditions.
What do you mean don't move here?
I will not take this slander about my home town
Hey Zackman, I truly feel Cochrane is a fantastic place to live! See my Top 5 reasons video! However I wouldn't be doing a good job of educating if I didn't give some of the potential cons to prospective new Cochranites!
@@CochraneAlbertaRealtor the biggest con is the highway 22/1a intersection although they are fixing? it
Totally agree! I’d even say the temporary traffic circle is an improvement.
We bought a house here before ever visiting and don’t regret it. It’s a beautiful town. We both work here so don’t have to commute. If we worked in Calgary we would live there. Not interested in commuting though many do. Schools are busting as they can’t keep up with all us newcomers. Love the proximity to mountains and Calgary. Rentals are hard to come by especially if have pets and prices are climbing for real estate. Beautiful walking trails all over. So not a perfect town but it’s great
