Great review - Overall, love the bike, colour, features, price point.. but not a fan of the front light. Maybe it will grow on me when I see one?
It is a cracking bike, to me it feels very much like a KTM 390 Duke on steroids. Turning off the TC really perks the bike up, although I think you would possibly not get anywhere faster, but you'll have a bigger grin on your face and less wear on the front wheel! 😀
Thanks for the plug and kind words mate, muchly appreciated 🙂
I very much love mine, but do on occasion (since taking a demo on one), sometimes think I should have got the V-Strom 800RE as it is a bit more practical as an all weather bike and for longer distances.... but until they add cruise control to the V Strom, I'll happily stick with the 8S 🙂
Great to hear your thoughts on it mate.
No worries Pete, No one flys the flag higher for this bike than you.
I think the RE would be right up my street, I may even have a go at ABR...I really liked the DE...the engines run really sweet.
Hopfully you will get some views on you're brill vid.
@@exeterrider I really liked the 800DE, but I do wish it was a little lower and lighter without sacrificing comfort or ground clearance... if it was closer to the Tuareg in weight and had cruise control, I'd possibly consider chopping in the Tuareg and GSX 8S for it, but I think I'd struggle with the weight paired with height on the DE.
Suzuki makes same very fine bikes and have my respect as excellent brand. I've never pulled the trigger on a new Suzuki although it has been close 2nd several times. Maybe one day one of the Suzuki will get the top step of the podium and I'll buy a new one.
An excellent review as usual and fair criticisms.
I owned a suzuki Burgman 650 a at one point. It was a real smooth and surprisingly quick touring scoot even though to look at they were a big bus!
I think they were quite popular over your side of the world.
They have a lot to offer. Thanks, 👍
Another one that I didn't get a notification for but I've just found out that even though you're already subscribed you can click the bell icon again and it renews the token for notifications . Nice bike and great review as always buddy .
UA-cam need to get on top of that. It's happening to many others and they don't even know about the issue.
Thanks phil
The styling does not suit this old bloke but can see the attraction of a quick light bike. Nice balanced review as always.
Thanks, good to speak to you (kinda) tonight
Realy like the Blue with matching wheels. Great review very detailed. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
They look stunning!
I have found it quite subjective. I dont mind t but many get put off with the front light. Thanks : )
@@exeterrider I agree. They do look particularly bad in photos!
😂😂😂
You recording a video beside a railway track AGAIN. Do you never learn ? 😝
As Pete knows, I am sorely tempted by one of these. I think it would be a ton of fun but the only way I could afford one would be with a loan or PCP contract and I'm certainly NOT going to do that !
I would love one of these as something a bit different, should I ever come into some excess money, which based on previous form seems extremely unlikely !
This is a keenly priced hooligan tool with a great engine. Sorely tempted but unfortunately borderline destitute 🤗
A very thorough and balanced look at the bike as always Exmouth.
Much love from France where we love our Motobecanes,
Jaques et Madeline ❤🐕
P.S.
My hot stuff arrived today, as predicted. And no, I'm not talking about "Dave", you rascal !
Its a proper hooner for sure! I'll lookforward to the hot stuff...(watching you ,not my part!)
May wee
Beautiful bike Steve! Designed with sunnier climes in mind though😎
Thanks Dave, Sunny warm days....I'm still waiting for them this year!!
Great video, I saw one and considered it but not having screens and protection i wasn't sure how good it would be on tour. But lovely bike and as you said could get in a lot of trouble quickly, don't need help with that!😂😂
Thanks for watching! Yes keep it simple I say😂👍
The best Suzuki naked bigbike
It's a good one, I'm a gsx1000 fan too though
Aside from an ugly rear end (some would say front, too) and a few vibes through the bars, a great package, a really good bike. More usable than the Hornet on UK roads.
It is good, I still found the Hornet just as good TBH just different.
I've been looking at something similar but a bit more meaty. I like the newer Ducati Monster 937. I had a look at one recently but it had corrosion on the discs and paint flaking off underneath... and at least one bald tyre. Good to see one local though. I've got my eye out for a nice one. I have considered others like the suzuki or the 765 as they are cheaper though.
Do you think a Triple would suit you , the 765 looks fantastic? They are brill bikes. Ducati have notorius custmer service which really puts me off TBH.....I've onky ridden the desert X and well... say no more ha...it was OK but alot of issues even with the test bike which put me off...
My mate has the same colour 8S, he loves it. Not for someone my size though me thinks
Yes I can see why, it's a good bike.
Someone out doing training with MTS 👍Nice looking, I love that blue colour. I probably would get into trouble on that 😔 but it would be awfully fun doing it. Do you think it would outrun the rozzers? Asking for a friend😄
Mts, you, hope it went OK and you finished what you needed.
Yeap is all down to Rider skill out running rozzers👍😋😋
I don't doubt the overall quality, Suzuki have always been 'up there'. However, speaking as an oldie I think it looks pretty fugly to me! Great vid with plenty of trains!
It will always be quite controversial looks wise. Thanks Ken : )
Lovely engine with wheels but compared to gsxs not a looker. Does look very exposed. I think suzuki twins have the best engines. The Honda hornet close up is dubious quality. A bike for a limited purpose, prefer the strom. A thorough quality review. A bike for a sunny day hooliganism blast. Cant see your lad enjoying the pillion much😂. Love the way the Clio waited until you were almost level before they pulled out, par for the course. Good defensive riding
I have just seen my reply didn't pop up on this!?
Yes I am in your camp when it comes to street bikes...
For me I prefer sit up bikes that are multifunctional.
Not quite my cup of tea mate but a nice review mate well done.
Thanks Paul👍
Road the white one as a loner. Not bad. A little small for my frame.
Fair enough : )
Great review on Suzuki's newish offering, ER, but it's such an ugly duckling.
I know looks are subjective but I don't like stacked headlights and the engine is all lumps, bumps, and hose pipes.
Yes I see where you coming from there Jim, it's for the folk that want something different for sure. Same as the DE model (which I found as good as the Transalp) ...heck of a bike but again the looks wont be for everyone.
Just one more thing mate , if you're getting too much breeze on your helmet try zipping your flies up .........
I'll check that later, I missed that 😂
18:33 Do ya want him taken out for not waving? 😠
Yes I let him off that time. He was in a deep dream I guess.
Choo choo!
🚂
Cowley Bridge junction.
And I.m in lancashire. 😂
Ha, sorry to say your wrong mate.
Search "the swans nest pub" and you will be closer. Cowley is 4 miles from there 👍
@@exeterrider 4 miles not bad though. One of other reviews you were there. Bsa I think. ?
The Hunter was closer, but often ride bys are done there.
I think the meteor exhaust shit was there.
Look out for the speed twin 1200 exhaust shot ride by😉😉😉
The cat' will not corrode, they are invariably stainless or, if aftermarket, possibly titanium. Whether or not they look nice is entirely subjective.
Spots off surface rust and tar marks is what I meant 👍
