crazy to hear that even a guy like Skrillex says he barely even uses plugins. Just stock Ableton stuff.. Goes to show that you don't need to get all these expensive plugins and all you need for mixing is a limiter and a dynamic eq.

@@OPENYOURJEANS Sample packs are a thing on its own. I'm just talking about plugins. But even that, you can make ur own kicks and snares etc., with using a microphone or even the synths in Ableton.
@@Brohnzi you can't do it simply by using mic. You need effects there, as well as on drums made in synths. All the samples are made with effects, almost always with them, especially those which Skrillex used in this video
So yeah, he does not need any plugins as he has samples which replace synths and those samples are well-edited so he does not need any effects
@@valentine4589 uh yes you can using a mic. He says in the video you can make a song with ur own voice. And you can use effects on it with stock ableton plugins like I said...
he has some analog stuff behind him, i'm sure he uses that stufff too

Thanks so much for posting this! I saw that you timestamped more technical aspects of the stream but to me the most important moment is at 1:58:30 where we see Sonny emotionally connects to the music he just made. This connection to music is what we producers and musicians strive for.

One valuable thing I learned from this that no one tells you: You can change the sound of the metronome in Ableton so it's not that annoying beeping in your ear. Listen to his at 21:13.

I’m sure the next album 💿 will give him a lot of Grammys again, I mean a lot people has been waiting for a long time a new album from him, people don’t talk a lot about it but they are waiting... Let’s hope, remember could be possible cause even the single Midnight Hour (2019) and I think Would You Ever years ago got nominated to a Grammy, with an album is gonna beat it. 😎

So many principles gleaned from watching this... even in just the first 35 minutes you can pick up a lot from what he is doing from a foundational standpoint. Thank you for posting this! I'm not always into Skrillex sounds, but I wanted to give him a chance and watch this. Glad I did, because I now have full on respect for him. Pay attention to the right stuff, and you will find a lot of GOLD hidden in this video; Gold that translates into being able to work on any DAW or platform and create the music you desire. It's all principles, folks! Be well everyone! ✌️

@@andrew8253 Yes, but that's because I'm not a sheep and his music wasn't relevant to myself, nor my audience. But, regardless, would you rather earn the respect of folks over time, even years, or would you rather never be respected at all for what you do? The fact that I even gave him a chance and watched this should show you my intelligence on giving others a chance, even those who may not fit into my personal scope of vision.
You also have to acknowledge that I come from a classical background and my first "electronic dance music" introductions were in the 80s and then in the 90s when I started raving... His sound just didn't';t speak to me. But, from a production standpoint, I can give respect because seeing his process, because I graduated from music school and can see that he is truly a creative and technical artist, which I can relate to, resonate with and now, can respect. Hope that make sense!
