Please try to remember drivers might also be using seeing your headlights as a quick check. So someone coming out of their driveway could totally take you out…. There are so many safety factors you are missing, a vehicle on the ground is NOT the same as a plane or helicopter…. Plus that MOOSE needs to see you.. So to recap please stop driving on Any public road without the proper lights… save it for trails or only in SHTF scenarios.
When driving with others do not kill brake lights, tape rags over them. You still need to signal to others when you are decelerating.
I added a kill switch for brake lights. Doubles as an anti-theft device too.

Thermal can’t see through glass so it’s a little difficult. Even without glass it’s not really practical.
Yep, doesn't work. You'll only see a reflection of yourself. Plus you'd probably get motion sickness with thermal.
I encourage you to attempt driving with thermal
