Would love to see an addition to this video showing exactly how you connect up the lanyard to different housings, specifically the pvs14

leaving this comment here for the fellow budget bois
ill never understand why someone would pay more than like 150 at most for a bump helmet, if you can afford it than i cant judge but imo it seems like a waste of money that you could invest better into ammo or other important kit
You said that team wendy helmet was 360 and imo thats way more than one should spend for a litteral plastic helmet
I personaly made my helmet diy, and used the costs i saved to invest into the night vision. My diy bump helmet was in total less than a hundred dollars including active earpro and the nvg mount. heres how i made it.
I started off with a basic pro tec skate board helmet i got as a handme down from my dad who used to skateboard. I got it for free but realistically you can get these or other similar helmets for 20-30 dollars. Why is this a decent choice to start building out a helmet from? First off with it being a skateboard helmet first, the padding is very nice and comfortable, and it has great ventilation, the helmet is also just nice and sturdy and just straight up wont break unless you shoot it lmao.
Anyways i bought a 3 hole aluminum nvg mount shroud for 7 dollars, a "mohawk" style counterweight pouch for about 12 dollars, side rails for 16 dollars, wire style arc rail earpro mounts for about 17 dollars, and finally walker razors on sale for about 30 dollars all on amazon. I did a high cut on the helmet myself(wasnt hard, just outline it with a sharpie then hit it with anything really, then just sand it afterwards to smooth the edge) to be able to use the earpro.
All in all, i spent like 90 something dollars on amazon and ended up with an actually amazing bump helmet thats comfy as hell and works well. The only thing i would do differently is with the earpro, firstly im not really happy with the wire style earpro mounts, i would much prefer the arm style amounts that do cost a lot more. The walker razors have been just fine for me though.

Levels to this game if you want cheap Chinese junk go ahead. I’ll spend whatever on defense products because it’s to protect my life.

@@Blackowl44 Im not talking about cheap chinese junk, Im talking about a high quality skateboard helmet that was specifically used by US special forces in the 80s-90s. This is a bump helmet we are talking about not a ballistic one, so i dont see how a team wendy bump for example would protect your life any better than a modified pro tec.

depends on what you want bud.
gotta consider helmet brands. Id just go with Ops core or crye precision if you can find it.
Ops core has their RF1 helmet that provides protection up to ak rounds. Its not a guarantee but it is better than nothing and then you know "what if" right?
never want to go under equipped and run it.
Then you gotta consider what optics you want. At the end of the day. It is an optic.
There is monos, binos, and then lastly, panos NVG units that exist. All from differing brands and most are very exnpensive and hard to get because ITAR is making it difficult for you to get the same units that military and LE use, so Panos are restricted, and same with certain binos. You're gonna have to hunt for some secondhand Panos and binos from "a guy" and if they are willing to sell. Be ready to cough up 40g's for some nice night vision optics.
Team wendy I do think does make the NVG mounts but wilcox is the top brand for mounting.
