- I did not expect the Hammerhead to preform this well, I mean a few cruisers yeah but a radiant? Anyways, I started a new game because the old one was getting into an endless grind for money and this time I decided to not use too many capitals, accidently made my best fleet. Chose the mercenary start instead of the scavenger for once and I am still using that hammerhead in the late-mid game after being enlightened by 186 speed, I can probably go faster too.

This is better than my midline video while being all midline, cant wait to get enough money to make a massive midline fleet with some more ships other than "more hammerhead"
My personal hammerhead experience was pretty similar to this video.
It went like this: Gets Hammerhead in the tutorial, doesn't understand shit about weapons and keeps it with the default loadout, still kills heaps of pirates.
Starts a new game and understands how to outfit a ship properly, slaps on 2 chainguns just like this video. Goes bonkers spamming the special ability and spraying bullets everywhere, run into too many enemy ships, scream for backup, die horribly. Buy myself a new hammerhead and get and idea.. Slap 2 autocannons to the ship and install a range boosting mod, use the hammerhead as a long range artillery platform to defeat stuff from long range, like the idea so much you build in the mod and make it permanent.
In other words I give the Hammerhead an 8/10. Its an excellent short range or long range ship, its really fast without any mods to speed it up and you can spam the weapon overcharge again and again with no downsides. If the ships shield covered its butt then Id give it a 9/10 and id give it a 10/10 if the main guns could rotate.
My personal build for most of my hammerheads is 2 light assault guns and 2 chainguns, the back and missle slots are a waste of points, safety overrides to catch any ship at a blazing 170 speed without skills, and 20 capacitors 15 vents, although if you are talking long range vents aren't as important and you'll save 30 points without safety overrides so feel free to add missles and 2 hypervelocity drives, those cannons absolutely tear through cruiser, maybe capital shields with the autofeeder system. I've taken down conquest shields with one hammerhead but then again that's just a big cruiser

Anyone who makes Hammerheads without dual chainguns and safety overrides is doing it wrong.
I use heavy autocannons and harpoon rack with expanded missiles. I am not a heretic and I will NOT RECANT!

I don’t think dual chainguns is the best hammerhead design.
But it for sure is the most fun hammerhead design

Auxiliary thrusters have been a nice addition to my SO Hammerhead, probably not optimal. Yet when I charge forward alongside my wolves to make a strafing pass, stripping the flesh off the exposed side of a Colossus MkIII, I’m in a state of euphoria.
You can do that without auxiliary thrusters, a bit harder but capitals can't turn fast enough and are usually too focused on your capitals

@@Rell2601 there is no strafing when you have dual chainguns, 1-3 runs can destroy a capital with the ammo feeder so just sit there until your Flux gets to about 80%
Hammerhead: Oh no my one weakness...... building up my own flux then getting nuked instantly.
Sad this ship doesn't really hold up in bigger or longer fight but "GAS GAS GAS".
Also check out the champion if you want to see the strength of the midline.
This is why we get safety overrides and 5 of them, if you ever get too high Flux just outrun whoever you are fighting and the other hammerheads will keep the pressure up

can you do one about getting remnant radiants in your fleet n having them just fuck stuff
Sadly you can only get one at a time with Alpha Cores, there is a CR cap after you hit a deployment point limit and alpha cores multiply the cost, though I might get one soon and let me tell you 5 autopulsers are OP
@@Stonecargo21 yea i forgot about the dp limit because i only had one in my fleet, but even that felt realy strong if you give it a gamma core, i didnt even try it with an alpha core yet because it would massively tank its cr

Investing in all that anti armor, don't you have a bit of trouble with shields?
That's why we have 60 Claw fighters to stop the enemy from firing, also there are a few long range anti-shield hammerheads
UH i need to try this, i usually tend to build each ship with balance and not specialize. Thanks for the insight & i will wait for more meme videos. 👀
Update: Tried it, i love it! Build: 2 chain guns, 2 sabots racks, 2 small machineguns on the front, SO and no PD.
heavy armor and F distributor buillt into the hull, it SLAPS with little support.
@@commanderz9848 strangely I never use heavy armor for my hammerheads, I tend to have just so many since they are easy to maintain that I can prioritize speed and when I go down I can just switch
@@Stonecargo21 If you have money yes, unfortunately i am in early game and i am worried about survivability. Also: i tend to have lots of hard flux and i lower the shields very often, it helps with longer engagemennts. Also: my fleet is very small, i have 1 Buffalo, 1 Dram, lasher, 2 brawlers, an omen, Vanguard, Drover and a Hammerhead, also i have a legion XIV but i take it just to destroy stations or multiple bounties.
If this noob knew that instead of light high-explosive guns in turret slots, you need to put air defense miniguns to evaporate shields, then he would not receive so much stupid damage.
Don't worry, my Retribution build is all machine guns! :D
