I’ve had the Shift in my queue forever but haven’t wanted to invest in the pricey yarn. You’ve given me a great alternative! Also thank you for explaining the long vs. short color changes. I ALWAYS learn something from your videos!
Thanks Kim!
Thanks for the tips on the Shift Cowl. Love the color! I am currently knitting my first tank top
The purple really speaks to me. Thanks for all of the great tips.
Both color ways are stunning, but I have to vote for my fave, purple. Looking forward to learning about seaming next week.
Definitely purple!!! It would look awesome worked as the Shift!
I love the Fall Colorway! Thank you for sharing your techniques every week!
I have always wanted to knit this...beautiful! Since I would knit this for my very knit worthy daughter (she taught me to knit!) I would pick purple...her favorite color. Both are beautiful!
The fall color looks awesome!
So helpful in describing the long and short color changes! Thank you!!
Both color ways look amazing, but I have always favored purples. The Shift Cowl will probably be my next project with the budget friendly options,
Your conversations very interesting for artisan
I like both but I like the purple a tad more.
I'm working on a sweater for my granddaughter. I can't wait to be done with it.
I like the fall colors! Been working on hats, I usually stick to small projects. Thank you for the video. My goal for 2020 is to make a hat for each member of the family.
I love your Shift. I love both color ways. I believe I would choose purple for the prize. Thank you for your tips and videos.
You're welcome. Next week we'll cover completion of it and weaving in the ends. :)
I completed the Nightshift Shawl by Andrea using Briar Rose Fibers yarns. This is a good reminder that I need to block it. Lots of fun to make!
Love your Shift cowl! So nice to have more affordable options 😍 I think the purple color way should be the price 😍 Looking forward to next week tutorial on finishing the cowl. Have a great week!
Thanks Tracey! :)
I was thrilled to see you have this video on this!! I just got the pattern and am hoping to start it soon!
Amazing colors!! I admit I am not that knowledgable about knitting (just a noob) to be so adventurous but I have been crocheting for 15 years & I am thinking of all the projects I can use them for in my head!! My husband's radar should be going crazy since I am so interested in a new yarn....LOL.....Purple would be my choice.
The Shift and The Night Shift are sitting here waiting for me to start. Right now I am working on Fried and Green (shawl) by Paper Moon Knits in Brooklyn Tweed's Shelter (worsted weight) with size 8 needles in Blanket Fort (purple). Love your shift!!!
I saw the shift cowl the other day and it really looks fun to knit but I am on a knitting budget so your video was perfect timing. I love the colors you used. I did the Latvian braid on a hat that I did for myself, thanks for the how to video. Happy New Year.
I bought the Shift pattern and l made it in a single yarn but I love the idea of knitting it with the long colorway yarn and two more that go with it.
I like the purple!
I own the pattern but I haven’t made it because I cannot spend THAT much on yarn. Your sample is beautiful!
Also, I love both color ways you selected.
what a great informative video! I'm starting the shift this week, hope to get it done for my sisters birthday in August.
Having fun knitting a bunch of Starlight Mint Hats (free tutorial pattern on ravelry) in variegated yarns that I have impulsively bought but then struggled to find patterns for them. The pattern works up super quickly flat in garter stitch with short rows. It can either be grafted shut (my preference) or seamed. It is an infinitely adaptive pattern for different sized heads and different color combinations. In worsted weight (thinking about the beautiful Ultra Alpaca) it is a two day project and then a mistake rib scarf knit in the same yarn makes a wonderful gift set.
My choice - The Fall Colorway in the Zauberball. I made the Shift in all solid colors - nice, but - I really like the multis!!
I will be learning how to Brioche at a class on Monday at my local yarn store!
Good Morning Kelly, first time watching your video and I truly enjoyed your tips and explanations of selected yarns. I too started a journey, just projects that I completed last year. I couldn't believe I hit number 12. This year I will keep notes on the projects as well..at least that is my goal. I love learning about yarns and what they have to offer, but better than touch, I love to touch.....thank you
I have just started working on the Shift!!
Thank you for giving us an option using a more budget friendly yarn for the The Shift Cowl. I have the pattern, but am on a yarn budget. I didn't catch the name of what you are using, Thanks in advance!
I like the informations on how too choose the color .I prefere cold color like purple. Sorry for my english
Oh, thank you for this! I spent hours last weekend looking at so many yarns online & ended up totally lost. I did not like the price of the $192 kit. Crossing my fingers I will win this...
I like the purple colorway
I like the fall colorway. I am finishing a mkal Cowl by Laura Aylor Just For You 6.
I am working on some gnomes and I like the purple color.
Working on Westknits wanderer shawl..
Have wanted to make the Shift shawl for a while now, but very pricy. thanks for the suggestion of this yarn you are using. BTW...love the fall colorway.
I’ve been wanting to to the shift cowl. Like both of the colourways you presented. Maybe slightly more partial to the purple.
Kelly, I love the Shift cowl. My preference are the fall shades, I've never used Zauberball before, but would love to try it out.
I vote for the fall colors. Im working on the December kit and the sweet dreams shawl.
Can you tell us more about the Baby Sweater made with the Lang yarn? Which of the colors is that one made with? It looks like it would be good for a little boy - do you agree? And the pattern?
Harvest!!!
What size needles were used in the shift cowl? I am finally getting to the cowl and shawl using the yarn that Kelly suggested. She changed the needles for the shawl did she use different needles for the cowl? Thanks so much for all the help I love the videos
