- The Ethiopia they dont show on the news. In this Ethiopia travel vlog I give a walking city tour of my old neighborhood in Addis Ababa known as Kazanchis. I talk to some locals and show how they treat me as a foreigner in Ethiopia. The beauty and kindness of Ethiopian people and their country of Ethiopia is what they dont show on the news. This was the first place I lived in when I moved to Ethiopia in 2017 and it holds a very special place in my heart. I show my old house and the school I used to work at. Who am I?
A man from the USA trying to discover the world one place at a time, while sharing the experiences through my lens. I like traveling to places that are usually not first on most people’s itinerary and showing everyone that these places are worth the journey. I want to experience all the countries I visit as a member of the society but at the same time learn about the culture, food and beautiful people. Great video. The Highlight of this video is 11:40 when you met your previous security guard, the way he hugs you tells about you a lot. As I expected, you are a very nice person. Ethiopians if they don't like you, they don't hug you like that. Be blessed more and more.

Nice Video mate! One of the many new and old neighborhoods in Addis. Distinct on it's own. Loved by the Folks who built it and grew in it and gave birth to their children in that Sefer.The Kes Bets, Kindergardens, School, Churchs, Mosques, Cemetery, Kiosks, Bars and Restaurants, Tej Bet, etc.. That gives a strong sense of Belonging. And I think that is a common experience all people in Addis have and those from Addis in the Migration.. Nostalgia included :)

Yes I am aware in Cali they do collect them, but in Addis it is a very common car to have, it is not uncommon to see classic cars all the time. Their resourcefulness with the old vehicles is fascinating. Gebru is a great human being, I always make sure to take care of him and fam. Thanks for the support!

My son attended Swedish community school 10 yrs ago. Was the best private school amongst the 3 major top in the entire country. With freshly prepared lunch and snacks. Lovely teachers and real school environment with real lawns to play on. Now that it's changed hands ( habesha) it will definitely go down for sure.
