  • My table saw has horrible dust collection, second only to my miter saw. I've been looking at buying an overarm dust collection hood but they're expensive and won't necessarily fit a small job site saw. I decided to DIY one out of plywood and acrylic. I struggled with the design for a long time but decided enough was enough and I needed to just start building. I'm happy with the outcome although I could probably make some improvements to the dust hood design. After using this version for a while I'll know exactly how to upgrade it later.

dude sweet build yet again i'd think about necking the hose size down or even getting an independent shop vac to run the hood but love the creativity bro keep it up i'm about to post a bunch of short form content I'll shout you out for your clamp design in one of my vids

Thank you! And yeah I think you’re right about the hose size. I may build a new dust hood at some point that’s thinner and maybe that’ll create more of a wind tunnel for the small dust. Luckily it seems to pick up the fine dust which is helping prevent dust clouds in my shop.

ok tell us the truth - how many times have you run the blade into the acrylic cover LOL

Not once - although it’s gotten close a few times lol. The riving knife helps brace it in position from wobbling if I bump it.
