It’s accurate to fighting Ryu in this game. Even though he’s a mid tier in this game he can still pose a threat to other characters. Especially if he’s using his nuke DP super art and you make a crucial mistake
In my MUGEN roster, I have Ryu to randomly be chosen as a sub-boss during the Arcade Mode. Originally I had used his SF2 theme, but after listening to this one I found it much more fitting both for Ryu as a character and as a boss character. (Though me accidentally using his SF3 stage unknowingly didn’t help)
I love the darker feeling Third Strike has over the other SF games. 4 and 5 are a bit too cartoony. I always got this apocalyptic feeling from Third Strike that I wish they'd bring back. This Ryu theme in contrast to his regular one just proves my point
@Rasuke11 look at your comment. Then look at mine. You getting angry over my opinion shows your stupidity more than anything else. Get a life. It's just a game idiot.
yeah, I kind of got an apocalyptic and cyberpunk kind of vibe, especially with characters like Remy, twelve, Q and stages like that club scene one. overall my favorite Street fighter
They did use this theme in SF5. In the last fight of the story mode: A Shadow Falls. The song playing in the background between Ryu and Ken is actually a mixture of Ryu’s classic theme and his 3rd strike theme
I actually thought Ryu to be the most boring of the cast, he's was very blend to me when growing up. I always played Guile or Chun Li in SF2, fell in love with Ken and Alex in SF3, and in SFV I play Guile, Poison and Juri. He's cool tho
Ahh, the stoic look. It reminds me of a philosopher and a monk in mediation looking for internal peace as Siddtharta Gautama did in the 5th century B.C. . . It also reminds me of how a martial artist dedicates himself to his training and to find spiritual guidance within the fist and palm and through practice and desire to get stronger from experience and criticism.
For me personally this is the definitive Ryu theme - it embodies the true martial spirit. Focus, discipline and slow progression through repetition. The indomitable spirit of the Zen practitioner - Often my own training music! Was never a fan of the his 'heroic' original music - this truly expresses his personality.
You described it very well here, and I have to agree. I feel like the first phase represents the wisdom and mysticism of his character, how Ryu uses martial arts as a way to find his true purpose and meaning in life. And then, the second phase comes in, representing how Ryu is also a total badass and experienced, incredibly skilled warrior. It's great.
@@aesir1ases64 Musically, the first theme sounds like a jingle. The very simple melodies of SF2 are far too juvenile and repetitive to be a good for a fighting game. The Third Strike music's emphasis on rhythm and flow is way better for getting into the groove.

As the tune switches to the second round, there in an upbeat, still maintaning the calm and focused aspect of the song. By the third round the music fully develops to a perfect tune for a real and equal match!
Okay, past would have said, “OMG you like this trash and not sf2 ryu theme you need to educated!” But now I love this theme, I think a lot of people know sf2 more than 3rd Strike so when people hear this they are confused but yeah I love this theme
One of the things that street fighter forgot is that the game is literally about fighters that go around the world fighting in the streets, and street fighter III 3rd Strike manages to give that dark feel of the streets
If we think about how SF3 takes place after SFV, then this feels like a fitting theme for Ryu here. The past themes felt like they represent Ryu's perilous and tough journey of overcoming the Satsui no Hado, the inner demon within him. The SF6 theme represents the victory and celebration of conquering the Satsui no Hado while this theme represents how Ryu is now at peace knowing that the biggest obstacle of his path to strength is finally gone. But the Round 2 version of this song shows that even though he has overcome the inner demon within him, that part is only the beginning. Although the Satsui No Hado no longer haunts him anymore, he still remains steadfast on the journey to great, pure strength. And even when he thinks he has achieved his goal, he will still always push forward with every fight and battle to become the greatest warrior ever. Not for fame and glory, but for pride and honour as a fighter. A Street Fighter.
first assessment is right on. but the sf6 conclusion falls apart if you actually played SF3 2nd impact where akuma calls out ryu being free of satsui. in fact being angry at ryu for letting it go completely. in fact already on his way to becoming a master. it started here. not in sf6. in sf3 there is no evil ryu. just ryu pure and free. while the bank heist movie sf6 theme represents ryu going to the clubs. or gettin ready to rob a bank. lmaoo. 😆😔 thanks capcom. appreciate it!!
@@y0gafire SF6 Ryu's theme is triumphant and energetic, showing his triumph over the Satsui no Hadou and his constant energy and activity. Also, Ryu robbing a bank would probably be an explanation of how he gets the money to afford all his perfect sets of white gi. He even has the strength to defend himself from anyone trying to stop him. If it wasn't confirmed that Ken just gave him a credit card that he manages for him, I'd fully believe that Ryu just steals from the bank regularly.
Ryu is the epitome of what a man can become when he reach the levels of perfection , calm confident explosive methodic, all that depending on the situation.
