Authenticity is key! I struggled with holding back too much when writing my essays. What helped me was an unintended consequence of my anxiety around making grammatical errors. I would go to my campus writing centers a couple times a week to get a fresh set of eyes on my subpar English skills, but, in addition to being constantly told most of my commas were unnecessary, and I have too many run on sentences, I got to see how a total stranger reacted to my story. And the more I opened up, the more I could see the writing coaches become genuinely captivated.
EASing from the Marine Corps next month and just submitted my Transfer Application to Stanford. The application process felt like a roller coaster but truly relieved once it was submitted. Thank you for your inspiring content that helped me tremendously through the transfer application process. Semper Fidelis.
@@theonlyjoelj Here is the update... I was waitlisted! Thankful and humbled that they continue to see me as a competitive candidate. I am hoping that I am fortunate to get in. Thank you for your guidance once again. This is still an accomplishment for me!!
@@c4429c dude, this year was a bloodbath - we didn’t have a single admit from the group of students I regularly meet with. Glad to hear you’ve got a positive mindset with it. Where else did you apply/have you heard back from?
