Hey! This is Ryan Waczek from Lion Bold! Have you ever tried using Ableton for more than just recording? I use it to trigger backtracks and a lighting show when I perform. In this video, I walk-through my live performance setup for you! Enjoy!

Sick setup dude! Keep up!
Thanks a lot!
Great video. I am new to Ableton and I would love to see how you did the lighting automation. did you due it in session view or arrangement view? Looks like you are launching your scenes in session view.
This is so flipping great!! Please, please, please create a course for this!!!
Email us this suggestion in detail if you'd like: www.indiemusicacademy.com/workshop
Would love to hear more!
Changing the game of live performance!
Definitely trying to! There is always something new to tackle.
Thanks for buying the Ableton Live Backtracks Template!! I'll see you in the member's area!
Great job !!!!!!!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing
That you David!
You’re the freakin man! Miss ya!
Dude Kris!!! So good to hear from ya! Miss you too bro.
@@IndieMusicAcademy I just started diving into the whole ableton thing for a keys/click/tracks setup for church so I stumbled across your stuff. Killer!
Very cool \m/
Nice setup! Also, your acoustic guitar sounds great. Sounds like an actual acoustic guitar. What guitar, pickup, effect, etc are you using?
So nice!... Can I ask, what's exactly your setup for the lights? Are you using dmxis or what software? Thx so much
Hey, did you ever end up making a video giving more detail on creating the set up you showed in this video? (i.e. setting up tracks/triggers/etc.)
Thanks!
Fantastic video thank you for the info. I’m about to make the switch from running my lights/tracks with dmxis/show buddy to Ableton so I can run lights as well as movies with my tracks. I’m really happy to see I don’t lose the foot switch capability of triggering songs to start/stop. I’d really love to know your process of programming lights in Ableton. Plan on doing a video on that? Thank you again!
Hey my man! Thanks so much for the complements and for sharing what you've been up to as well.
Honestly I don't think I'll be able to invest into the Ableton training as soon as I hoped. But IT WILL HAPPEN i promise you.
I think end of this year, I'm going to start moving into hard-core Ableton triggering tutorials, but right now it's not in the content lineup as I am focusing on music industry tips and strategies right now.
But thank you so much for reaching out because this confirms that there is a need for good Ableton Live triggering tutorials out there and I definitely want to make them.
Later in the year. I'm almost positive :)
Great video, super helpful.
Do you find running DMXIS with Ableton uses up a lot of CPU?
I'm thinking of switching over my set up to a single backing track WAV, a software synth, and DMXIS automating the lights.
Mid 2012 MacBook Pro with 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 and 16 GB RAM, do you think I'll run into any trouble? I have no idea how CPU intensive DMXIS is. Thanks!
It hasn't been CPU intensive at all for me, but my mac is a tad newer. I feel if you can run a normal Ableton session, you can run DMXIS
Do you think DMXis is the Best software to do this work ?
this is amazing, excellent wok, do you have a template for your setup I am to a solo guy and I'm trying to learn all of this stuff. thanks and God bless
Hey, I actually don't have a template made right now but I might put out another Ableton video soon.
Lion Bold that’s really cool man I will definitely sign up God bless you for the awesome work you do thanks a lot for letting me know personally that’s awesome
The song you played with the track, was that Lion and the Lamb?
You said you're new to Ableton Live... was figuring out how to trigger different parts with the footswitch not too hard? Which version of Ableton Live would I need to do as you've done?
Could you do more videos on your performing with this set up?
Hi Steve, yes that song was Lion and the Lamb. Good catch!
I spent a lot of time studying Ableton and all the mappings required for advanced live setups. And honestly, it was pretty hard. At least for me!!! haha
It is my goal to make more Ableton Live tutorials near the end of 2020 if everything goes according to plan. Please stay tuned for this. I have a strong desire to also make an in-depth Ableton live looping course, planned for 2021. I use Ableton Live 9 currently.
Do you have a video showing the process of setting up the tracks in Ableton???
I don't yet! I was actually thinking of turning this into a template that you guys can download and play around with. Would it be more valuable for me to walk you through making it? Or just give you the finished product?
both please. Id love to get the template but having an explanation is extra juicy
@@IndieMusicAcademy Have you published a template? I love what you have done here thanks for the video!
@@danielthomas2997 Hey Daniel, thanks so much for purchasing the template and my the included Ableton Backtracks Video Tutorial! If you have any questions about the template, you can log in and leave questions in your online portal! I'll see you in the member's area!!!!
@@IndieMusicAcademy Hey did you end up making an in depth video on the signal flow and routing within ableton for the DMX and midi conversions?
Hi Ryan. This is great! Would you ever consider an hour or 2 of your time for paid consultation? I am in a similar solo guitar player with very similar gear and just just purchased ableton. I’ve been looking for some advice like this for a while. If interested to chat further let me know.
I would be glad to! Shoot me an email: ryan@lionbold.com
can u do this with Cubase for live performances?
I’m sure there is a way, but Ableton I believe has specific tools for live performers. I’m not sure if Cubase has any features specifically for live. I can’t speak too much on the subject as I’ve never used Cubase before.
I appreciate it thanks!
Is this suite or standard ?
Suite :)
totally usseles
