Damn cool. I especially like that you managed to intertwine the west coast, the mid western and the east coast chapter in the same story. Even before Fallout 4 was revealed I realized that the active approach of the Washington chapter under Lyons meant that they had stronger ties with local settlements, better propaganda, more recruits and their war with the enclave meant an enormous influx in technology and scrap parts. Advanced Power Armour MK. II, light plasma rifles, vertibirds, research documents and more. This is the one thing that Fallout 4 did right. The Brotherhood is huge, well equipped and aggressive in their policies against the rest of the wasteland.
I honestly don't like the Brotherhood, but maybe that's because Fallout: New Vegas was the only game from Fallout series I've played so far. @theprofessor3684 actually, the brotherhood changes a lot from chapter to chapter. The east coast brotherhood under Arthur maxson is much closer to the og roger idea,as it balances helping the wasteland with keeping the dangerous stuff away from unprepared hands, and terminals in F4 show how Maxson instructed his vertibirds to protect all caravans that they come across in their territory, and actually trade with waste landers. The midwest chapter(ik their canonicity is in doubt but imma talk of em for the sake of argument) recruits ghouls, sentient death claws and more into their fold. The Mojave chapter under mcnamara can be reasoned with into helping during the second Bartle of hoover dam. And probably there are other examples we don't know of of the brotherhood chapters differing to one another.
Wonder when we will see the Montana chapter of the brotherhood or the current status of the Midwest chapter too. I don’t think anybody cared about the Texas chapter however
There's a major flaw in that logic, just look at the gulf War. Despite the Coalition not knowing the land and often being outnumbered, technological superiority and better tactics led to victory. Hell their casualties were only a few hundred, meanwhile there were tens of thousands of killed iraqi. Robert house is a great business man, but he doesn't know war.
The Brotherhood of Steel is cool, but I am more into the ideals of the Minutemen. However, if Preston asks me one more time to go help a settlement after just arriving from helping a settlement, then I am sending him to Big MT so the scientists there can discover what is wrong with him!
NCR has Vaultcity which has the 2nd most advanced medical technology in America behind the institute. The Brotherhood has a technological superiority when it comes to the Military. But realistically the NCR even without Vaultcity has several other vaults, bases, research institutes and former Enclave Scientist in its territory wich would surpass everything that the BOS has. And i dont need to explain why the institute has more technology in both quantity and quality.

Hi, I love your videos. I would LOVE to see a video on the Universal Union, also known as the combine from half-life. Their lore is extensive and goes pretty far, but is filled with mysteries as well.
One thing i Think Maxson did wrong was destroying The *ENTIRE* Institue, they were significantly Technologically Advanced and If Maxson Just captured the Place and Some Scientists the Brotherhood could’ve gotten a MASSIVE Boost in their Arsenal.
The Brotherhood is the only heavy military force (other than the NCR) that has even the possibility of a conscience. Especially in the Commonwealth, there’s no better option to pacify the wasteland, knock out the institute, and start building an east-coast nation that could rival the NCR. In my head cannon, 300-ish years after the Great War, the NCR heads east, the Brotherhood west, and they shake hands and join in the middle. Just like the NCR and Nevada rangers. I honestly think it’d be the best outcome for everyone. Plus Preston Garvey is annoying. This way each settlement can have its own vertibird for all I care 😂
Roger Maxson’s true vision of the Brotherhood of Steel was lost over the years because his own son twisted his vision by pushing them towards becoming techno-religious isolationists. Maxson wanted what Lyons and Rahmani wanted for the brotherhood.
BoS dosn't blame the Tech, they blame the people, thats why they want to hide or destroy powerfull weapons, because they know people cant be trusted with it.
I'll say it, I hate the direction Bethesda has taken Fallout in. I loved three and New Vegas, but although I don't think Fallout 4 is a bad game, I realised I didn't love it. The Brotherhood of Steel were a great faction. I thought of them as honest Good Guys in the first two games. But then they slowly went more neutral and I realised that Fallout was sticking to shades of grey. Aggressively so and to the series detriment. Like how Caesar's Legion where evil, but seen as a stabilising force while the NCR was attempting to be the good faction but proven to be a hypocritical colonist faction. We are allowed heroes and villains. Some times well intended people succeed with honest means. The Brotherhood of Steel were Knights. They should have been trying to help people instead of being isolationist fools.
the bros already were extremist in the first and second game... they just got worse... also,, probably the only good guys of the fallout universe are the followers of the apocalypse
You're ass backwards. The legion is as evil as the Babylonian empire, the roman empire, or literally any government prior to suffrage. "The Brotherhood of Steel were Knights. They should have been trying to help people instead of being isolationist fools." I'm sorry but it's only in Bethesda games where the Brotherhood is isolationist? They didn't have much lore prior to fo3; the first entry for the brotherhood of steel after their exodus was in 2135, when the og maxon died. Second entry in brotherhood lore was 15 years later when they fought a gang. Pre bethesda brotherhood has a lot of tell and no show; In OG fallout alot of the dialogue was centered around the BOS being a manufacturing faction, like tech priests, who occasionally fought gangs out of defense but where largely hard core isolationists, having previously let outsiders into the brotherhood without sending them to the glow, but now almost firmly set against the outside. In the epilogue in they are said to become a development house for tech and delve further into isolation, content to merely sell guns. In bethesda game they actually do things- they patrol the wasteland, they search for tech, go on expeditions recruit people; Pre-Bethesda brotherhood literally cannonball, at the moment, sat in a bunker for near 70 years and did nothing of note.
"I thought of them as honest Good Guys in the first two games" Clearly you're referring to 3 and NV when you say that and not Fallout and Fallout 2 because the BoS have been isolationist since THE VERY FIRST GAME. Why do you think Fallout 3 has the number 3 in it's title? On a side note, I wasn't impressed by how Bethesda handled the BoS in 3. They turned them into overtly cartoonish good guys that helped outsiders for little to no reason. If they wanted to go down that route they should have done so in the same vain as Fallout Tactics: BoS in that game the BoS helps various human settlements as well but there's always some nasty caveats involved in accepting their help.
Darth Lazurus they were never true good guys. Their goals are too focused on fighting and weapons. They won’t even give useful things to followers like med supplies. They just leave them. They are just a bunch of communists. And elder Macon brought them over the edge

Uses the Term Chapter. Fanatical. Power Armor. Latin. Tottaly Not Space Marines Of The Fallout Universe. This guys are litteraly the Steel Confesors with a bit of Mentors in them
it was i can see why they didnt outright copy as the power aromurd group there literally worshipped the old world and saw advertisments as holy scripture to the point of inscribing them on every wall of there base
Yeah and 40k ripped power armor from starship troopers and rest of the lore from dune.
@@DuBstep115 You Mean the guardsmen outfit right? And yes you are spot on
@@axaldusteliora2956 No like power armor, look book covers from 1976 there is something called marauder power armor.
@@SexyFace There is still alot of unique enemies, lore and weapons to give them credit. Inspiration has to come from somewhere unless you are like Edgar Allen Poe or hp Lovecraft whos stories are inspired by nightmares and own insanity.
Works in chapters, Hates greenkskins, fanatical and have power armor. They might as well have two hearts.
I would love a midwestern brotherhood focussed fallout game, i wouldn’t even care if they copied most of the story from “tactics”
#midwestBoSisBestBoS
Kirk Cannon yeah definitely, like didn’t the BoS send expeditions to Texas and Illinois in tactics? I would love to see a Texas Fallout game.

Wow, this was really not an easy topic and history to summarize ! Brilliant work.

Oh by the way I'd suggest unitology from the dead space series
This is so interesting i loved the bos ad Victoria
Always fun seeing a new episode from you, thank you.
The Brotherhood is the only true hope to bring order & peace to a shattered world the world of Fallout has become.
Really? I've heard of another faction. Already built a society, supposed to be very big! The New California Republic
@theprofessor3684 imo the NCR is bound to repeat the mistakes of the pre war world, their leaders already have become imperialistic and often rather incompetent about it,give it time and their decline will become ever more evident unless they change course
@@sokratikas Well change is very possible! If there's anything that the NCR takes seriously, it's its democracy. Change could come very easily if the people decide so,,, That's more than we can say for the Brotherhood or God forbid, Ceacers Leigon
@@sokratikas I'm more talking about Maxins brotherhood. And you do know what Bethesda based them of right?
fallout tactics brotherhood is the best Brotherhood Of Steel
katsupoi too bad they're considered non-canon
Wonder when we will see the Montana chapter of the brotherhood or the current status of the Midwest chapter too.

"Ideological purity and shiny power armor don't count for much when you're outnumbered 15:1"--Robert House.
Thing is, 15:1 odds is what Power Armor was invented for. Land invasion in _China._
Interesting statement. But I would like to counter that argument with a 9 iron hitting 60mph towards your face, Mr House.
This was such a nice and very eloquently done video. But is so hilarious how bethesda itself would put this lore aside for 76
It could be due to the time setting? FO76 is kinda a prequel it takes place a mere 20 years post nuke booms.

Lyons had the right idea, but he strayed too far from the original ideals. That's why I like Maxon's Brotherhood. He sticks to the original ideals, alongside Lyons ideals to an extent.
Who here is PRO- eastern Brotherhood
I prefer the Eastern one from 3 that wasn't the enclave 2.0
Me + Midwest brotherhood chapter too

I like the more moderate and compassionate BoS faction from FO3 the best. The BoS in FO4, while not "evil" on an individual basis but the leadership is pretty fanatical.
They became raider..threatening the people around the commonwealth

Unless you as the General of the Minutemen & an ally recruit to the BoS , technically in an alliance. You can see both BoS & Minutemen patrolling together in-game on the same routes. After the game ends, you see BoS members in the Commonwealth town simply buying supplies.

One thing i Think Maxson did wrong was destroying The *ENTIRE* Institue, they were significantly Technologically Advanced and If Maxson Just captured the Place and Some Scientists the Brotherhood could’ve gotten a MASSIVE Boost in their Arsenal.
True.
My favorite factions: BoS > Enclave > NCR.
Caesar's Legion and The Institute are trash and need to die.

@CHRIST'S APOCALYPSE PALADIN 3: Return to Boogaloo in fallout 4
How do you explain the fact that everyone else wants to kill the institute?
Roger Maxson’s true vision of the Brotherhood of Steel was lost over the years because his own son twisted his vision by pushing them towards becoming techno-religious isolationists. Maxson wanted what Lyons and Rahmani wanted for the brotherhood.
What about Arthur Maxson?
I initially liked the BoS.. But as I played and learned more about Fallout. I kinda leaned towards the Enclave more.

Why do people blame technology for what people do?
Not technology fault who uses it
Same applies for guns
@@Krondon-SSR only seams smart people can see people behind problem
But most chose blame the tool instead the person
BoS dosn't blame the Tech, they blame the people, thats why they want to hide or destroy powerfull weapons, because they know people cant be trusted with it.
You wouldn't give a ak47 to a caveman my point it something people aren't ready for some tech
The Outro was amazing!
Please do Caesar’s Legion next!
Blackstone Legion from For Honor?
Great video :)
yes
They should have been trying to help people instead of being isolationist fools."
I'm sorry but it's only in Bethesda games where the Brotherhood is isolationist? They didn't have much lore prior to fo3; the first entry for the brotherhood of steel after their exodus was in 2135, when the og maxon died. Second entry in brotherhood lore was 15 years later when they fought a gang.
Pre bethesda brotherhood has a lot of tell and no show;
In OG fallout alot of the dialogue was centered around the BOS being a manufacturing faction, like tech priests, who occasionally fought gangs out of defense but where largely hard core isolationists, having previously let outsiders into the brotherhood without sending them to the glow, but now almost firmly set against the outside.
"I thought of them as honest Good Guys in the first two games"
Clearly you're referring to 3 and NV when you say that and not Fallout and Fallout 2 because the BoS have been isolationist since THE VERY FIRST GAME.
Heroes nah? Its fans needed more grimdark more shades of grey. That's where the current trend of faction ideals are at.
Their logo do be like the Jedi order
The brotherhood cares about technology, the railroad cares about synths... but who cares about the people?
