    Awesome! The diesel heater is so much better then the heater buddy. One thing with the exhaust and the muffler. The exhaust pipe should be lower then the heater so moisture doesn't build up. The muffler has a tiny hole that should be pointed towards the ground for moisture to escape. The unit should also tell you the voltage of your battery, but I wouldn't use the car battery. One last thing, don't use cheap thin wire, you can damage the motherboard. Best bet would be to get a cigarette lighter adapter and plug it into your bigger power box.

      Battery isolator allows you to charge a second battery from the alternator. It also keeps the second battery from draining the main engine battery. A deep cycle marine battery is cheap and will run a diesel heater for 24 hours on low easily.

    Two tips: I wear rubber gloves when refueling mine. Helps with not getting the smell on you.
    Also Id use a 1 gallon or less jug to do the fuel transfer to the actual heater. (You absolutely don't want fuel all over the heater or your stuff.) And your exhaust setup out the back looks fine to me. My setup is in a cabin, but spaced the inlet/exhaust are just about as close as yours are. I've had zero problems. Hope some of this helps ya brother.

    Congradulations on the heater man that suscriber is awesome for doing that. I would make sure your set up is good for it wouldnt want you lighting your truck on fire. Your pretty smart so i think if you follow the comments and research abit you will rind the optimal setup. It probably will heat up your place super warm super quick so the nice thing is you wont be going through that much gas. Hope you can get it all squared away and working reliably. I actually never seen one like that. Usually i see them seperate from the gas. That one is all contained in a nice lil unit which has its pros and cons but honestly thats sick. I want to buy one just like that and incorporate it into my build. Once my dog Loki passes on (hes 11 now) im going to build myself a nice setup and travel all winter to snowboard! Ill keep following you man! Gonna like every video you put out. I wanna see you grow on youtube. You have a pretty good sense behind the camera. Hcalory is supposed to be one of the better Chinese brands for these. Read the instructions on how to set these up safely. Check out vids on upgrades for these to quieten the pump and for fuel lines, some of the green and clear ones are supposed to not be so good. The air intake should be outside far enough away from the exhaust to not draw in fumes from there. I'm sure you'll optimize the setup once you learn how it works. It will sure be cheaper to use than the Buddy heater and safer too. Man I'm glad you've got this thing. I hope to order one of the cheaper ones this weekend for myself.

    If you get a battery isolator and a deep cycle marine battery you can use your trucks engine to charge your second battery that runs your diesel heater. The isolator keeps your diesel heater from running your trucks engine battery dead. You can also install a resistor to set the charge rate of the deep cycle battery to under 15 amps so it charges properly.

    • @P_RO_
      @P_RO_ 16 годин тому

      I think his solar generator has a 12V outlet which should work for this.

    • @ElectronicMusicUnderground
      @ElectronicMusicUnderground 15 годин тому

      @P_RO_ The problem is the charging rate. A deep cycle battery can normally take more amps than a lithium power bank. So when he starts his engine he can charge the lead acid deep cycle faster and save fuel. I would need to know the model of his lithium battery bank. I have no idea why they call them solar generators because all they are is a lithium battery bank with power inverter.
      I lived in rvs traveling for 15 years and have restored 20 rvs and over 100 vehicles. Ive also trained in everything off grid including building solar setups. Im very familiar with making rubber tramp life more efficient.

    • @P_RO_
      @P_RO_ 8 годин тому

      @@ElectronicMusicUnderground The problem is money. He's got to work with what he's got right now and he can keep his stuff charged up via the outdoor outlet he has access to or via solar. Ideal is later.

    • @ElectronicMusicUnderground
      @ElectronicMusicUnderground 33 хвилини тому

      @P_RO_ If thats the case then it would be cheaper to simply run an electric space heater. A diesel air heater will cost more to run and add other negatives like needing to take time to get fuel and fill fuel tank daily. Also the diesel heaters are more dangerous.

  • @StanFindsThings
    @StanFindsThings 18 годин тому +4

    Thanks to the fella who got you that heater. Also, if you need more wood, check behind stores, you can find some old pallets that they throw out, also check local housing development, they usually throw tons of good scrap in the dumpster and those guys will usually be happy to give it away. Keep your head up man, things will come together. Life's a garden, you gotta dig it, plant good seeds, and when the time is ripe, the harvest will be plentiful. Keep on keepin on. What doesn't kill you, will only make you stronger, one day you will look back at all of this, and the story will be told. Be sure to point that exhaust at an angle to where it won't blow back into the direction of the truck, don't hesitate to put an extension on it temporarily as you use it. You ain't alone brother!

  • @patriotprepper9175

    That heater is going to be a game changer for you bro. But that intake hose should be inside, it makes the heater more efficient plus it prevents you pulling in carbon monoxide.

    • @P_RO_
      @P_RO_ 16 годин тому +1

      The air intake hose is only for combustion air, and it's supposed to go outside so that it doesn't use up oxygen inside.

    • @patriotprepper9175
      @patriotprepper9175 14 годин тому

      I have mine set up with the intake hose inside and it’s fine, been that way for a few years now in my shed. It takes more fuel for them to heat freezing air temperature and is why most people set the intake hose inside. He has the intake hose to close to the exhaust and could result in it sucking the exhaust fumes in his living area.

    It will drain a battery fast.. Your best bet is a DC to AC convertor. It sounds perfect with your AC option.. If not you'll need a big battery bank to properly function. They are not a quick on off heater... It takes 5 to 10min to prime and 5 to 10 min to shut down. It will cook you out of your situation in 4 minutes. 🤷🏿‍♂

    Buddy I'm in for helping in any way possible. Will I just do it thru UA-cam. I'm serious I've been doing it for a long time and after seeing your channel I see you are a really good dude. I don't want it to sound like I'm bragging.. Please believe me. Cash app doesn't work from Canada but I've been able to do PayPal to several people in the states. Let me help you out. Please 👍🇨🇦🔧

      My apologies I've been very busy, and getting to the comments is getting harder. Did you send me an email by chance?

      No but I would really like to. Please forgive me when it comes to technology I absolutely suck. I'm older than dirt. How do I go about finding it. I'm sure I will get slammed for saying that but it is what it is. Please let me know 👍🇨🇦🙏

    Those all in one heater units work great for the back of a truck. Put one in my ranger it was a game changer. A true blessing ✌️
