Last Video from my old stock!! So back next working on the Mk 2 GTI build with New material... glad I put out my Land Rover videos tho as welcomed new subscribers so thanks for joining the brotherhood and supporting the channel... 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Laterz!! 😉
Just did this on a VW TdI. These engines suffocate themselves and in the long run, they than pollute and consume more fuel than necessary because of the wear. Ingenuity and complexity at its finest. Thx politicians and environmentalists! May you inhale your own farts, indeed!
Awesome!! Glad it helped... Just be carful of the little gaskets when you remove the EGR pipes as I dropped one of mine. It's a bit tight down there so It's not easy. Just a heads up and good luck
Did you get any codes come up and you able deletes the code easy ?AS i was told that cant remapping on early 2011 mod del but can remapping on later model like 2015 up

What we do here in South Africa is do the EGR delete, remove the CATS from the exhaust and a ECU remap. On my D3 I got 6.9lt/100km consumption after doing all those mods plus it pulled like a train ;)
Wesley, die D3 het absoluut geen error codes gegee nie en ek het omtrent 80k km opgesit met dit gedoen. TorqueTune in Joburg het hom ge-remap en hulle is die beste. Gaan na Landyworx toe in Randburg ;)
Hi Rupert , just saw the vid and you comment, how is the car doing sofar if you still have it please, I am thinking of doing the exact same thing to mine but not sure if I should EGR ,DE-CATS and Re mapping ? Any inputs please 💪
I'm thinking about doing this on my landrover discovery 4 BUT will it fail the dreaded MOT especially for the emissions test in the UK and can an MOT inspector tell if the egr has been blanked or not. Also is it definitely better for the engine?
I think we all appreciate a bit of humour when explaining these things, always goes down well. One question, anyone got any idea why the butterfly valve flap was removed? or more-so, what did it do in the first place? Cheers all.
Thanks mate... I believe the butterfly valve is a cut off for the air intake when the EGR opens. In keeping with my intro explanation its a bit like pinching your nose so you get 100% fart gas! Yummy!! NO EGR means no Butterfly as it will cut off the air
@@peterandrews7756 Diesel engines don’t use means of controlling air intake, they regulate speed by injecting more or less fuel, air intake is always fully open

Hi! Norway calling! (Had to say that on account that I saw your cool jacket.) AND trigger the dreaded 'limp home - restricted performance' state? I get a 'DSC not available' message along with restricted performance. My question is: Do I have to do program the ECU along with the EGR blanking?

Great video. I didn't know you could get blanking kits for Disco's of this type. Why replace the valves every few years when you can do this. It is a no-brainer.
Thanks mate!! It’s a shame on all the Discos as it makes them so hard to work on. Especially with the UK climate it’s not a good mix for rust prevention! Appreciate your support and welcome to the channel 👍
Great job. Can I ask is this the same on a Range Rover sport 2007 I’m looking to do the same. Would it be the same process with the butterly valve ect?
It's not a 'throttle' butterfly, it's a 'restrictor' butterfly. It is normally fully open, unless EGR is happening, then it partially closes in order to create the pressure drop needed to drag exhaust back into the intake.
Mines a 2008 range rover sport just having the EGR blank off as I write thing will the engine management light stick on and if so do I have to get an eye delete
No mate, just as normal... I always just give the glow plugs a chance to heat up on a cold day as you would normally and hit Start!! Broom off you go 👍
The kit is compatible with TDV6 2.7 models with the 10th digit of the Vin number 6 or 5. If the Vin number is 7 or higher the kit will likely fit but the MIL will remain lit to indicate an EGR fault. Hope this helps
Hi, Cool video! Question about fuel consumption: You say the car went from 8.8 to 10 liters for 100km, which is actually worse than before the operation... Your dashboard shows 10 km on 1 liter so I guess you mean it went from 8.8 to 10 km on 1 liter. That would be an incredible gain of almost 14 percent... I find that hard to believe. Yes you are correct... I get confused as each of my cars records consumption differently. I had been on some longer drives which would help the stats for sure but no matter what I tried before I could never get near those results. I also gave the car a full service and replaced all the brake components which were in really bad shape and causing resistance. The dirt it caused in the engine!! @@WIMPYbrothers I'm still a little confused here with your explanation. Are you saying that you are in fact getting 'worse' mileage now than you did with the EGR's fitted.
