Any German would probably still say "Zeiss Ikon" as the company was named originally. In 1989 it was renamed to "Ikon" when Assa Abloy bought the company. My guess ist the the "ZI" is still a reminder of the good old times as "Zeiss Ikon" had very good reputation. A German would pronounce every letter in "ZI" for itself ( like: "tset eee"). Also this is a very common lock in Germany. I have the same one at my door.
I just completed a Locksmithing course here in Spain with CerraElx and I loved every minute of it. But I will also say that watching you pick this lock REALLY shows how good of a lock picker you are. Always love the vids. Thank you
This is a SK 6. The number 5/6/7 just defines how many pins there are. As far as I know 5 or 7 pin locks are no longer produced for new locking systems of the SK series.
Thanks for the nice video. Can you tell us where did you get the 0.012'' picks? They look like Sparrows ones, but afaik they only have them down to 0.015''. Thanks.
Great job picking and also the excitement of wondering, will this disassembly produce an explosion of pins and springs worthy of Bosnian Bill? Love to see this going back together. Maybe on Side Noob?
These keyways come in lots of differnt forms, so they can realize locking systems for big residential complexes. Every house can have their own keyway and the neighbours can't even fit their key in locks in the wrong houses. Only the master keys can fit in every keyway. And locks with wider keyways make it possible for everyone to open it. Like for the garbge room. In my residetial complex are a more than 200 apartments in like 30 or 40 houses.
Does anyone else like to pronounce this like ‘Ziycon?’ No? Just me then 😂
The way that it is broken up into two
words ( ZI IKON )
I would pronounce as ZEYE ICON, if that makes any sense.
But hey,
I'm American.

nicely done Ash mate great job 👍👊😎🇬🇧😊
Great job Ash! I have the same trouble nearly every time I gut a euro cylinder.
Nicely done with that 0.12 thousandths pick Ash, have a great one my friend.

Ohhh!
Oooo!!
Looks like a crazy fun lock to pick, it has you chasing its tail. My kind of gutting 😉 and what a crazy zig zaggy keyway.
Great picking!!! What a great lock.
🐈⬛🐾🐈🐾👏🍻
Damn dude. Your channel is huge now. Congrats! I haven’t been in the picking world for quite a while. Nice video as always though!
Great stuff! Interesting cam mechanism!
Nice video. Nothing wrong with some auto-gutting if it gets you there in the end.
Ask. Is it easier to open a dry lock, or a lubricated lock?
Very nice pick! Tough keyway. Whoever designed euro cylinders needs their head examined though. 😏 Man, gut those is just painful.
