Also I've been thinking about it and now I unironically believe there's a decent chance that Dess was possessed by Gaster's other assistant and she is the Knight... I can't hold onto a theory for shit 🙈 But I also don't want to flood my channel with Deltarune content, so that theory is going to have to wait. I'll probably post it whenever Toby announces chapters 3 and 4
What I personally want to happen is that the Knight is the Agahnim to Gaster’s Ganon. Ganon was trapped in the Dark World/Sacred Realm (The Void/Depths for Gaster), so he copied himself and made a body to use in the Regular World (Light and Dark Worlds) until he got out. I want the Knight to be Gaster’s personal Vessel, I guess.
Sadly, none of the evidence in this video proves Gaster is the Knight- just that he's involved in the plot somehow. Furthermore, the evidence that is most damning to the possibility of Gaster being the Knight is Seam's dialouge. Seam acknowleges he had seen The Knight when they corrupted King, but still refers to the person who corrupted Jevil as a mysterious stranger (again, someone he likely saw). It would be extreemly odd for Seam to mention having observed The Knight, but then proceed to call the person who corrupted his best friend a "Mysterious Stranger"- he would've said "The Knight that corrupted the King also returned to corrupt Jevil", or something similar if that were the case. But instead, he implies that he didn't know the stranger who Jevil met by any identity. Meanwhile, we essentially know for a fact that Gaster was the one who corrupted the secret bosses because the Addisons mention "Garbage Noise" coming from Spamton's phone, which is identical to the description of the noise coming from Kris' phone in the Dark World- which as pointed out in this video, is heavilly Gaster-associated. So, if Seam insisted that the secret bosses were corrupted by a "Mysterious Stranger" and not The Knight, and the Mysterious Stranger is basically confirmed to be Gaster, then The Knight cannot be the Gaster. Well, unless there are two Gasters (one from Deltarune and one from Undertale, with the main evidence being the song name "Another Him")- but even then, they'd probably look identical enough that Seam would probably mistake them for the same person, thus ruining the theory once more.
The most interesting a cool thing about what Seam says is that it fits perfectly with a very specific idea that I've believed since Chapter 2 released, namely that The Knight is not directly Gaster, but rather that The Knight is someone (specifically Soulless Kris) being _mind-controlled_ by Gaster. Seam refers to Gaster as "A strange someone" and The Knight as "A strange Knight." He refers to them differently but with the same descriptor. Suggesting that he noticed similar behavior between the two despite seeming at first glance like different people, because the latter is being controlled by the former.
I’m like 100% sure sans is lancers older brother, explaining the bleeding, the lack of skeleton features on his body, his mouth never moving, and even why he was added to smash as a costume instead of a fighter
Something I found from other people. There’s an inaccessible room in Undertale where the second possible gaster sprite is in a horse stable and speaking to it gives you wingdings. And the man behind the tree gives you an egg. Translated to windings it spells the movemente of the knight in chess
I don't see why any of this proves that Gaster is the knight, just that Gaster is connected to the dark world. Personally I think that Gaster isn't the knight, but that they created the Knight. Gaster just approached them one day, gave them a bunch of forbidden knowledge like Jevil and Spamton, and taught them how to make dark fountains. As for who the knight actually is, I'm pretty convinced that it's Kris, but that's a whole giant argument that I'm not going to get into here (though I'm willing to explain more in the replies if anyone wants).
That's just evidence for Gaster being an important character in Deltarune, which is pretty obvious, but it does not explain how he was the one that opened the fountains and it doesn't logically make sense for him to have done it
Didn't the same thing that happened on Twitter for Deltarune also happen for Undertale, I think Flowey announced Undertale on the Twitter around that time. It would make sense for a similarly important character to announce Deltarune.
ok but hear me out what if the knight is actually woody from toy story who’s actually dess holiday but dess holiday is actually sans in disguise and sans is ness
I like the video, but none of this really shows that Gaster is the Knight; just that he's involved with the Dark Worlds in some capacity. Let me ask you something; if Gaster is the Knight, the one opening the fountains, why enable the one person capable of sealing them? Assuming he is in fact the narrator at the beginning of the game, it doesn't make sense for him to bring the red soul in when it's the only thing capable of undoing all of his work. You could argue that he didn't intend for Kris to obtain our soul, but I don't think Gaster, a scientist, would take the risk of unleashing our soul in any capacity if it's the one thing capable of stopping his plan. Alternatively, if he did account for Kris sealing the fountains, you could argue that he's performing an experiment. However, that would mean that his goal is not the Roaring. At the very least, I don't see how Gaster could be working towards the Roaring when he's also partially responsible for hindering it. Sure, this doesn't necessarily prove that he can't be the Knight, but that would mean that the Roaring Knight isn't actually trying to cause the Roaring (note that Queen refers to them as such despite not knowing what the Roaring is yet, so she must've heard the title from somewhere else). Make of that what you will.
0:35 to be fair, most of the things in this meme are only evidence of Gaster being involved in Deltarune, NOT of him being the Knight, but I’ll suspend my disbelief to hear the rest of the video first. Edit: Okay….. disbelief unsuspended, I guess..? I… didn’t really hear anything that further convinced me that he, specifically, is the Knight? Like, he very well COULD be, but… this isn’t evidence of it?
9:33 into the video, and lots of stuff about why Gaster is almost surely playing some role in Deltarune, but so far talking about what we know about the Roaring Knight. I guess if your idea is “Gaster caused the dark fountains, and the roaring knight created the dark fountains, therefore they are the same”, then, there’s something to that, but like… Idk, what about all the other things the roaring knight supposedly did, like deposing the other 3 kings?
You're thinking of the Spade King deposing the three other card kings. Other than that I can only recall the Knight talking to the King and also Jevil, which drove him insane.

In my opinion, Gaster NEED to be a big thing to the plot, because if he isn't, it will be a real loss of the quality of the game for me
Little theory here. I noticed that in entry 17 he addresses two other people in the room, making three, with him, and the others. In the starting character creation sequence, there is also three people if the different text is indeed a different character. My guess is that the other person in the starting sequence is one of the two people he addressed in the entry, with the other being us. Another thing I noticed, (and I could be wrong, or this has no real meaning) it seems each of the three impact different roles in the story. We represent the protagonist, the knight (which I believe is the second person) represents the antagonists, and Gaster, (if he is the one affecting the secret bosses) represents the side characters, or everything else. This theory has a lot of “ifs” so I wouldn’t be surprised if this is easily debunked, but it’s still interesting to think about nonetheless.
