    Thanks. I came here after reading an NYT food article on New Year's Day that declared Armenian flatbreads stuffed with greens as the perfect snack (also the title). Watching your video was a big help and, as they are delish, I've made them several times since.

      Now I think I found my own answer,,,,,when you said there is not translations and you pronounced "Jangalov" then suddenly came to my mind the word "Jangal"in Farsi means Forest = which corresponds very well with the amount of green which goes in this bread!!!!! I am happy to have solved my quiz... lol

    Thank you, Heghine jan! I always wanted to learn how to make this. I`m going to try your recipe one of those days.
    May I ask you about the music in the background? You must have a good reason for not choosing an Armenian artist.
    Kind regards,
    Karine

      Glad to hear that Karine jan, hope you like it.As for the music, you are right, we should have chosen something from Armenian artists,I always trust my husband's music taste , I know at one point he was looking for good quality Armenian music and wasn't able to find any, maybe next time:)

    Thank you for the video. I have been searching for the English translation of the the herb described in recipes for the Hats as important to the recipe "Carmantyuc or kndzmdzuk" Someone has suggested it is chervil. Can you help me and others identify this herb? Thank you.

      +theswediblegarden This is the post that got me looking for the herbs a while back -- www.rootsimple.com/2011/02/zhengyalov-hats/

    • @Heghineh1
      @Heghineh1  8 років тому

      Yes, kermendzuk is chervil, but I wasn't able to find it in my local supermarkets
      Also additionally,it's good to use romain lettuce and beet leaves

      Thank you so much for confirming the herb. It makes sense too with the combinations I was seeing (names I recognized) because of its light anise/licorice flavor. I really appreciate the confirmation. I will pass this information along to the group I had originally posted in. Have a best day.
