    I am giving this a like, as this will be super helpful for those who own the Walksnail X Goggles and learning to find the hidden clips, and to be careful of the internal wifi antenna. 🙂

    The goggles actually look better now that the lights are gone!

      I kinda disagree. I like the anthropomorphic approach. Makes me feel like a cyborg. I may put the LEDs back on later and add the TrueRC Air2 patch antennas.

    I've been using these goggles for few weeks now and work pretty good with the stock antennas but I deal with signal issues from time to time. I'm new to Walksnail as I've usually only ever used the DJI goggles and perhaps that has spoiled me with the range. Any recommendations you would have to get better range right now? Would you recommend changing the stock stubby antennas like I've seen with the fatshark dominator/V1 Walksnail goggles?

      As far as I understand and someone correct me if I’m wrong, the original antennas are of dubious quality, there are several reddit posts discussing this and recommending much better antennas. Even so, the theoretical range of Walksnail is lower than that of DJI (it remains to be seen what happens with the next Walksnail system that promises 20km of base range.
      Greetings!

    More to it then I would have thought. But overall, not too bad. Excellent tutorial/demonstration. 👍🤓

    Curious to see your test results! I'm so on the fence with these goggles. Still using analog on sub 3" quads... I did the Lumineer faceplate patch on my DJI V2's and it made zero difference. 😂

      Equipment is very case dependent. Some people need it, others do not. Just depends on how and where you fly.

    Did you ever get around to testing these?

    • @marblekitfpv

      I use them everyday now. Seems to work just fine. I don't fly long range so can't say if it's any better or worse for that.

    Did you ever do any range testing? Did they improve anything?

    • @marblekitfpv
      @marblekitfpv  Місяць тому

      I don't fly far away so don't know if the range is improved but it should be because they are directional. I just don't know by how much. Also, for the flying I normally do, I didn't notice any difference in signal quality but again, I don't fly far away.

    Did you swap the ufl’s and did you notice any difference in range? Because I did on my v1 goggles but my range doesn’t seem to be as good as expected. I am even using true rc stubbies and patches and the latest firmware.

    • @marblekitfpv
      @marblekitfpv  Рік тому

      The patch antenna has SMA connectors on them. I did not swap the uFL connectors.

    The other good thing with patch antenna is the reduced space it takes in the backpack... but without noticeable impact on signal strength, I'd pass...

    • @marblekitfpv
      @marblekitfpv  Рік тому

      Probably only good for people who fly far away or need penetration into buildings.

      @@marblekitfpv So this patch antenna actually increase flight range and signal penetration, right? Sorry for the stupid question, I'm new and trying to understand if I need tha thing for my goggles.

    • @johnshite4656
      @johnshite4656 10 місяців тому +2

      @@Svarg89 Video signal range, yes. You also have to consider transmitter range, but usually video goes first.
      You only need this for LONG RANGE flying. For shorter range racing or freestyle it's overkill. Try without it first, you can always upgrade later.

    Never easy is it. Thanks for taking the time to do the "heavy lifting." It makes things less complicated for those installing the patch antenna. I use a patch antenna on my V2 goggles and it was "easy peasy." This seems a tad bit more complicated.
