Arthur was dying and still beat the fuck out of Micah. It was nice to see how pathetic Micah was. If it were not for Dutch stepping on his hand, he'd have shot Micah.
Ok? That seems like a childish point to make in a story like this. Arthur was also an unstoppable killing machine who’s basically a mass murderer at this point. Wether he would or wouldn’t have beaten Micah in a fight is kinda moot at that point lmao.

Dutch knew how he done Arthur was wrong , you could tell the way he looked on that hillside .. Rip Arthur Morgan . A good man .
Dutch isn't a pure psychopath, he built the gang through strong leadership and a had a code he stood by, however as his leadership crumbled he started to descend into madness and the worst of Dutch came out! Micah on the other hand is a real piece of shit!
it really hits home given how Dutch always likes to talk especially making such grandiose and poetic speeches. To have him unable to say anything shows how broken he became.
"hello son" thats what im gonna say to my son who im going to abandon at a young age and show up at his wedding two decades later and say "i just need money"
As much of a liar and cheat as Dutch is he was badass in this scene. He comes out the cabin with two revolvers, shoots Micah and then leaves barely saying a word. I’m not sure if he did it to avenge Arthur or because Micah was a rat playing both sides but either way he was pretty cool in the end.
I like that even at this point, Micah still seems to hold some level of begrudging respect for Arthur. He always admired Arthur's strength, as well as envied him for it. When Arthur got sick, Micah knew he had to sow a lot of mistrust in order to turn Dutch against him, and depending on the story, Micah either can't bring himself to finally finish Arthur, or he kills him only after being almost killed by Arthur himself. And now, after John mentions Arthur, Micah doesn't insult him or John, but angrily says that he's been dead for a long time, and that his time is gone. Like despite how they became enemies, Micah will always respect strength, even in an enemy, especially one that saved his own life and was always a better gunslinger.
Micah is a shit weasel turd burglar. What a shame they don't give you the option to cut him into little pieces with a tomahawk and then feed the bits to bear 🤣

Same. I shot him six times in the chest. Revolver shots hurt. I wanted Micah to feel it before he died. I think I recall shooting him in the lungs as well. I bet Arthur was watching down saying “how’s it feel to be the black-lung?” Arthur would then have a good laugh.
The fact that we never got a Charles DLC is such a shame, what a deep and enigmatic character he was, I always felt like he was in pain and never stopped mourning the loss of his people.
Dutch shooting Micah was almost like Darth Vader picking up The Emperor in Return of the Jedi and dropping him down the reactor. Except there was no redemption for Dutch in the end.
TheArrow17 The agents tracked Marston through his farm in Beecher's Hope. They tracked John the same reason Pinkerton tracked Arthur, because they were criminals.
GOAT they found him at the farm AFTER the events of killing Micah. John lied low the last 8 years and tried to live peacefull, when with Arthur the whole gang was active and fucked up and left alot of mess that was easy to track. After hearing Micah was found, John wanted revenge and killed Micah and his gang. Leaving a lot of mess for the agents to track it back to Johns Farm.
At the end The corrupted officer Ross died like a dog and Jack got his revenge & Became a Writer and wrote the story of his father and Uncle and became a hit and we see that cause the book is in GTA V
You can be shot pretty much anywhere vital (even the heart) and the body may be in shock or disconnect enough for you to be able to do an action or two before dropping dead.
An army buddy of my mine took a 7.62 round below his right eye and turned around and chuckled for a second, grabbed his rifle and fell over dead. You would be surprised what kind of reactions happen when shot in the face
This is why the pinkerstons found john's farm at the beacher's hope. Like arthur said "revenge is a fool game" and john made himself easily tracked by the pinkerstons.. No more peaceful life for u john.. Thats what happen in RDR1

no i dont think it was because of micah, it was because he bought the ranch with his real name. back then they really couldnt get any clues of who killed micah, unless they saw John do that
I know it's late and all, but I just love it how before he dies, he looks around for a bit to see where he should fall, and since there was nowhere else for him to go but just snow and mountainous terrain, he just shrugs and drops dead on the floor.
I love how Micah is full of bullets, and he just shrugs and turns around and walks away before dying. Even in death, he mocked them. He basically said "That tickled, but oh well". In a way, Micah got the last laugh
We all hate micah, even the voice actor. Such a reprehensible character, but don’t let that distract you from the fact he’s actually a skilled gunslinger and very dangerous. A rat, but still dangerous
Imo it’s more of a “Fuck this shit, that ain’t fair” kinda moment. Like dying in a game (far less extreme example) sometimes I don’t necessarily rage but just shrug frustrated. Again it’s Micah so it’s super unclear what tf he’s doing at all times and ofc he is just messed up.

Legit one of my favorite moments in all of gaming. When that music starts to swell and we see the John Marston we all know and love kicking ass. God what a great game.
I believe that Dutch just entered Micahs Camp a few hours before John turns up, (because Micah said something about many unexpected visitors this day) just to wait for an good opportunity to kill Micah and not that Micah and Dutch worked together for years until now
Anyone notice (at about 5:36) a rat runs by the cabin, just before you confront Micah, symbolizing he was the rat all along. Saw this in my play through and came to UA-cam to see if it runs by for everyone, and clearly does. Haven't seen anyone else talking about it
In the beginning of the game, John was always getting into trouble. Always needing Arthur’s help. 8 years later, this is when he grown up into the redeemed, yet even more deadly badass we saw him as later in the first game.
Holy shit this cleansed my palate. This is how you properly execute a confrontation that has been building up a majority of the game. This scene and the ending of TLOU2 are not even comparable. Imagine John just telling Micah to scamper off after killing many people to reach him. Yeah, it’s no contest. This is how a sequel to a beloved game should be executed. The writers for TLOU2 must have been crack or something during that ending.
Yo i actually did not know you got different bullet holes in the cutscene. I initially got the headshot ending but thought it was scripted because the bullet hole i got was directly through his eye. Which made it even cooler because ya know DEAD EYE. And apparently that you have to willingly do that to him rather then just shoot him directly in the face.
This game has everything. From environmental graphics that will blow your mind and make you cry, to a story line that connects you so much to a certain character that you feel you are him. I felt like Arthur Morgen for all of the hours I played this game. I felt like John Marston when I climbed that mountain to finish off Micah. This game is perfect because of that aspect. It's beautiful.
Kinda pissed Dutch was the one that shot Micah first and how John thanks him in the end, the fact that hes still been running with Micah after all these years (even tho he walks away from micha and arthur in my ending) shows Dutch is a snake
mike Dutch was there to kill micah from the start based on when John asked Dutch what he was doing here. Dutch replies with "same as you I suppose." this means that probably after the time of Arthur's death pretty much Dutch's "son" he felt some guilt and loneliness for awhile and decided to lead Micah on into believing that he was going to work with him.
Robert Phillips I don't see why not, If John Marston could lay waste to micah gang then I'm pretty sure Dutch could, Dutch taught Arthur and John everything they know.
@Robert Phillips he had to be all nice and such, and when it came to it I'm sure he would have killed him and not cared about the consequences cause he was already lost by then.
Akraman Doesn’t matter what type of game, movie, or book character arcs are a part of writing. Doesn’t matter how different of a game RDR2 is from TLOU2 they still have a story with characters with arcs. But all in all TLOU2 has dog shit writing.
@@dokjakim45michah has evidently lost weight and depending which ending you choose, an eye aswell so he’s malnourished, tired and situationally blindsided. John is likely fed and has shot multiple people on his way up giving him a warmup. I always thought the only other 2 characters in the game with dead eye are Dutch and Micah, so people forget when he shot 3 grays in quick succession in Rhodes.
John: "Arthur's saved my life, more than once!" Micah: "Arthur's been dead for a long time now..." Dutch slowly turns his gaze to Micah. I think this standoff is when Dutch realized who the real traitor was, but still had hard feelings for John leaving the gang once, and then wanting his family to survive during the gangs downfall (abandonment once more), or at least that seems to be Dutch's perspective. He can't see he's to blame for it all, but he respects John enough to not hunt him down. John still held the principal's Dutch tried to raise the posse with, and he saw that when John pleads with Micah to release Sadie, whom only got involved because of Dutch's call to care for her after them damn O'Driscolls tarnished her home. Even when John hunts Dutch down for Ross, he just gives up in the end. Perhaps Dutch realized the law was always his first and foremost enemy, and that's why he doesn't duel John at the end of his life. He just wanted to live his way, with no rules, even if it killed him. He had already lost what made him feel alive, his posse; his family. That's at least what I see out of the interactions.
If this was written by the same hacks who wrote Last of Us 2, this scene would have gone like this: John: "Come on out, Micah!" Micah: "Hello, Scarface. You here to kill me? You want to avenge your friend Arthur?" John: "No. I came all this way to forgive you because revenge and violence are bad." Micah: "Really? Even though you killed like 50 of my men?" John: "Yep. I'm a complicated character. People love this type of moral ambiguity." Micah: "Trust me. They don't."
John, Arthur, Micah (As much as I hate him), Dutch and Hosea would all be able to put one between Sadie's eyes before you could even say draw, so she's not really the most badass when a large majority of gang members are arguably and some definitely better shots and fighters than her.
One thing has always puzzled me about this mission. How did Sadie sneak up on Micah at the end? There was only one way in to this unless she scaled to cliff with a knife injury?

If this game was by Naughty Dog, John would start crying and let Micah live.

There was actually a video on this called if RDR2 ended like TLOU 2
I'm very glad that didn't happen in this game

They would make you play as Micah instead of John and then make him seem like a good guy petting dogs.
>thinking that Abby is in the same level as Micah
Man , hearing Dutch tell John that he ain’t got much to say anymore , it hits home man .. Dutch is a very likeable character for most of the game, until Micah started manipulating things.. Dutch knew how he done Arthur was wrong , you could tell the way he looked on that hillside .. Rip Arthur Morgan . A good man .
If you play the first RDR and meet Dutch, it's heartbreaking since he's completely lost his mind by that point and is damn near unrecognizable.
Dutch voice actor admitted to crying after leaving Arthur . So I believe Dutch cried when Arthur died. Burst into tears

I agree him holstering his revolvers is pretty dam badass ain't gonna lie.

The fact that John puts a bullet in Micah for Arthur makes me love him more.

The foreshadowing in this game is unmatched, I swear. That's one of the top 3 things that I love about it.
Dutch shooting Micah was almost like Darth Vader picking up The Emperor in Return of the Jedi and dropping him down the reactor. Except there was no redemption for Dutch in the end.
I think because of this, John got himself killed in RDR1.
The Arrow 17 why?
Daniel Harrison because the agents track marston trough this. Didnt you saw all the scenes from the credits?
TheArrow17 The agents tracked Marston through his farm in Beecher's Hope. They tracked John the same reason Pinkerton tracked Arthur, because they were criminals.
GOAT they found him at the farm AFTER the events of killing Micah. John lied low the last 8 years and tried to live peacefull, when with Arthur the whole gang was active and fucked up and left alot of mess that was easy to track. After hearing Micah was found, John wanted revenge and killed Micah and his gang. Leaving a lot of mess for the agents to track it back to Johns Farm.
At the end
The corrupted officer Ross died like a dog and Jack got his revenge & Became a Writer and wrote the story of his father and Uncle and became a hit and we see that cause the book is in GTA V
