Give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life, cheers for the tips mate! Can’t wait to hit coromandel with the boys!
This is great, thanks! Could you elaborate on the bounce to load the tip, and how to set the drag? (Someone who doesn’t know anything about fishing!). It would also be amazing to know what maintenance is needed after fishing to care for the equipment - and where to look to learn to ID the fish?
You should do a video on all the fish that you commonly catch in NZ and what are the best to eat and best to avoid! south and north! (preferably south haha)
Hey, yeah the eliminator casts really well. A 4oz is the maximum size I use on the daiwa. So once I've added bait that would be around 5 ounces of weight total. For longer casting I use a different rig from the ledger in the video. Will be a video covering it soon
Hey, I've found in this location I tend to catch kahawai on the top hook, so I target them generally with a smaller hook and small bait or strip bait. Then targeting a snapper with the lower larger hook. It's also common to catch large rays here so my hope is if I catch one it will be on the larger hook. If I were only targeting kahawai I would use 2 hooks of same size with 2 different baits.
Interesting vid. Tired of watching trophy fishing and ultra expensive tackle vids that if you could afford, defeats the purpose of going fishing for a feed anyway.

Thanks for sharing this video Mate.. mind if i ask the specifics of your set up, from rod to line to the reel model? Thank you
Nice vid mate cheers, once you have cast your line do you just let the fish hook up them self or do you strike when getting nibbles ? Cheers
What would you recommend as a beginner setup for surf casting?
Thank you 🎣

Are you left handed winding with your left?
Haha nah, get that a lot. I'm right handed but wind with left hand pull with strong/dominant arm, just my way and what makes sense to me.
Hi, do you get very good casting distance with your Daiwa Eliminator rod ? What size sinker do you usually use ?
