- This video provides an overview of the tragic story of the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix using archival footage of the race and interviews I could find. This weekend was wrought with many crashes and tragedies, including the deaths of both rookie Roland Ratzenberger and legend Ayrton Senna. Please leave any feedback below, it is greatly appreciated!
All race footage belongs to Formula 1 and Eurosport.

It's baffling how Barrichello wasn't seriously injured or worse in that crash, the worst looking crash of that weekend and the one which the driver survived.
R.I.P. Roland and Ayrton, 30 years this year.
Agreed. Absolutely insane! Thank you for watching
REMEMBERING ÍMOLA 1994. TODAY APRIL 2024💝AYRTON SENNA LEGEND FOREVER💝
Believe it or not, I'd put Imola 1994 second behind Spa 1960. That race was the only example of not one, but two fatal accidents that claimed drivers lives, Chris Bristow and Alan Stacey
Completely fair. There were also 2 really bad crashes during practice that weekend. F1 in the 60s was wild!
@-theAPEX it had a big impact on one driver who was in their debut season in 1960, who as a result grew to hate the Spa circuit, even though they went on to have several wins there later in their career, Jim Clark
I did not know that. Thank you for sharing with me!
I always cry when I look back at this... I know I should remember the good times but it just breaks my heart every time I see the video. Danke Roland! Obrigado Ayrton! ❤🔥🏎❤🔥
I feel the same. Have goosebumps and can't believe what happened. Heartbreaking. He was such a charismatic and good man 😪
3:07 The picture of Senna's car is completely out of sync and unrelated to Barrichello's crash.
The grim reaper sadly took 2 out of 3 awesome souls that weekend, RIP to Rottenzberger & Senna 😢😢
SENNA.
RATZENBERGER.
