Remember that time that Marvel had the NRA standing up against superhuman registration with the Fantastic Four? Or when JJJ called out a black racist to his face?
Really?
@@PhyllisLane-xj5uf Yes, really.

I think the "10 Commandments bad, Drag Queen Story Hour good" position plants Dave French firmly outside of conservative territory.
I wanna state this for the record, Reagen was not showing signs of dementia in the white house this was at the time a talking point by the democrats in the 80s because they went batshit insane. It was in his post presidency where he started showing the glazed eye look and began to show signs of worsening mental problems and managed to keep himself together until the republican convention which many saw as his swan song then.
I actually have a friend who met him in the early 90s and he said he was very much still healthy during his interview with him.
He was ultra sharp as a president.
Always love comic episodes
John Byrne has always been an incredible artist. I do think people forget that he was actually most respected back in the 80's for the simple fact that he was probably the best graphic storyteller in comics at the time. The man's panel layout is always clear without being boring, combined with his undeniable skill drawing he's a rare total package.
Also I'm going to commit heresy here but Byrne's run on Fantastic Four is the best the book ever was. Ever. Nothing before or after has come close.
I want to see what kind of comics mid-century germans used to write lol
Übermensch IV: The Quest For Peace.
Could this be the origin of the block-o-text meme?
Even though you guys are younger then me you have more knowledge then I do over 80s comics
I found this very enjoyable, even as someone who doesn't read comics. I can understand the importance and complexity of earlier comics on our shared culture and consciousness from the discussions you guys have.
6:11 There is interesting echo here to some of the resistance to the formation of special forces. Ideologically, it was viewed to be undemocratic... and yet their effectiveness where they could be cultivated, was invaluable.
You guys should cover the BBCs Nigel Farage coverage and interviews
Excellent discussion you two brainiacs!
Its kinda weird that lotus eaters talk about comics more than gary or az on the bbc
WHEN'S THE BANANAMAN ANALYSIS (I'll settle for Billy Whizz and/or Rodger the Dodger )
I'm not a fan of Reagan, but i agree it can be really corny to overexaggerate political figures that it falls flat.
He is the greatest modern president. When he took office unemployment peaked at 15% and when he finished it was 5%. He also got inflation to go from 24% peak down to 2.5%. Household income and wealth increased drastically through his presidency. He managed all of that through executive order and getting congress run by democrats on his side.
Thank Lotus Eaters
Get Andre from Midnight's Edge on when you eventually get to the pulps with Robert E. Howard.
"Snyder cut... good stuff"

is harry's mug ever going to be cleaned?
It's seasoned. Probably never.

That mug has been annoying me every time I see it. Give it a wash, Harry! 😆
AY UP LOTUS EATERS
"Snyder cut. Good stuff." Really?..Ok.
These 2 look so similar
5:11 the irony of a catholic saying this lol
The reformation was an excuse to seize church property, among other things.
Look at these nerds

This is what's called reading _way too much_ into a comic-book...

Every time Lotus Eaters release a video and I see Connor on screen, I think of the Deep Blue Sea scene of the girl in the water screaming "Connor! Get me out of here Connor! I don't wanna die!". That sentiment is me when Connor is boring me to death each time.
