    A woman who was using dead chickens as bait to try and get an image of a big cat walked into it in long grass and got scratched across the belly. Baiting has dangers.
    There is an account of a man regularly feeding a bucket of trout heads to a big cat. One night it brought a cub and introduced it to him. The cub took food from his hand. He said, 'I was an ambulance driver for years and I saw everything. I don't care who believes me, I'm just saying what happened'. His work routine changed and suddenly he was no longer able to feed the cat. There's no telling what happened later with these cats that had learned to associate humans with tasty food.

      @@explorationsouthwest8851 I love the big cat stuff. No doubt they are out there! And I appreciate you not giving out the location. These cats need protecting.

      Yup... Unfortunately some panicked deer kicked some mud up onto the lens as they ran past so I don't have a super clear shot, but it looks to be a feral cat!

    how come you didnt show the full photo? just a really zoomed in shot, be interesting to see! Personally i don't think there are any but find it fascinating, any reason the guy that "hit and killed one" didn't take a photo or anything?

    Photo isn't a big cat. Deer panicking are difficult to photograph. Not really credible for identification of Burmese Jaguars squashed not to be kept as a specimen, or for zoos to have animals go missing without much publicity etc. So 0/4 for those.
    But the trail camera photos are interesting, and while big cat photo is highly unlikley unless there is a big cat about occasionally (finite but improbable) the cameras are set up ok and would get a good photo. And that is worth commendation, as most of the competition are inept. Several cameras improves the odds, and will give material to provide interesting wildlife information.

    If there is a big cat in that area, you will find deer or other animal carcasses it has killed and fed on.

      Why do you think that? That doesn't follow at all. Cats have large territories and any carcass/kill will quickly disappear due to maggots and scavengers: corvids, foxes, hedgehogs, badgers etc.

    I’m not trying to be a killjoy but there are loads of escaped exotic animals. Near where I live there’s escaped jaguars, snapping turtles in the river and mutilated animals on the local common have been found, look like they’re from a big cat.

    A black panther, a black Jaguar, or a black leopard, would be a lot taller than those scraggly weeds, it's walking through, and why isn't there any photos of the supposed dead black Jaguar, that had been killed by this car?

    • @explorationsouthwest8851

      We're talking several years ago - hence the quality of the image - a time when the owner of the zoo is on record saying he'd come and observe cats around the perimeter at night. Since a really cold winter around 2020 - sightings have massively declined 👍

    Jaguar's dont come from Burma, they are from South, and central America.

  • @tonycritcher3419
    @tonycritcher3419 Рік тому +2

    Jaguars not found in Burma! Forests of the South Americas, not Asia! I once saw a black leopard in Kent and always believed they and other non native species at large in the UK. Because they are elusive as a lot of predators are, many people are sceptical, they readily accept fallow, muntjac, Sika and Chinese water deer, wild boar, grey squirrels even wallabies as they are more readily encountered. I even believe that people should be more wary of wild boar than and big cat whilst out in the British countryside.

      @@explorationsouthwest8851 Indeed and any type of cat other than a family pet, feral cat or Scottish wildcat is an interesting find. And of course any amount of cross breeding by those released or escaped over the years can be a hotch podge of genes.
