Behind when we leave a place, we stay there, even though we go away. And there are things in us that we can find again only by going back there.Your video reminded us all our memories that we leaved there.....thank you!!!!!
Robert, I love your videos of the Appalachian mountains. There is simply something magical about the Blue Ridge parkway and the Appalachian mountains. While they are not the biggest or most majestic, there is a magic there that can only be experienced in person.
Oh yeah the blue ridge mountain parkway the scenery the smell of fresh air , nature and cooking brake pads . Wild roads in spots. Thanks for bring back great memories I had a couple of years back with my wife. Your fabulous summer continues n thanks for sharing. Robert I say it often your musical scores are so great. All the best Bill in Fort Wayne Indiana
That's nice that you got an audio of the "Grandfather Mountain"- very helpful with the rules and safety tips! You've made it to the Marker of the mountain!! It was worth the challenge! Thank goodness you made it through the steep winding road into Tennessee! Whew! That sunrise is Beautiful heading to Asheville, NC. -I love it!🌄 Cracker Barrel, beautiful scenic views, and great friends from Waynesville sounds like a plan!
Sad summer 2020 is almost over. But you’ll be glad to be home I’m sure. You need a plaque above Minis door inside that says DONT FORGET YOUR HIKING SHOES. Thanks for showing off those mountains ❤
I live in Bristol, TN a few miles outside of Elizabethton, so it’s nice to see you enjoying this neck of the woods. I recommend South Holston dam in Bristol, and Roan Mountain State Park/Carver’s Gap the next time you’re in the area. Happy Travels!! 😊
Gorgeous Mountain views! Those masks come in handy in the cold weather 😀 Thanks for sharing how challenging it can be to find places to overnight, many of us don’t realize what you and others go through. Thanks for yet another great video!
Living in Tennessee, not too far from Grandfather Mountain, I found your route from Spruce Pine to Asheville very interesting. We occasionly go to the Watauga Lake Winery. You are correct. Definitely no cell signal there. That place is in the middle of nowhere.
So awesome that you were here.. I understand the cell signal and internet issues. You were mere minutes from where I live. Hope you will come back to explore Northeast Tennessee again soon.
Good morning. I enjoyed this video so much. The mountains are so beautiful. I am wanting to get out and travel some and since summer is almost here I can take a trip. I want to go back to the Smokies and over into North Carolina. I don't live to far from there. Thank you so much for taking us along with you. I always enjoy your channel so much. Have a wonderful and blessed weekend.
Hi Robert, thanks for reliving fond memories for me of visiting the region with my parents. We visited Asheville, Charlotte and Grandfather Mountain during the Summer of 1997, staying with friends near Roanoke, VA and road-tripping using budget hotels. We also got down as far as Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC on my last major vacation with them, visiting from the UK. Seemed like friendly, laid back part of the world :-)
I live only 2 hours from Grandfather Mountain but I've been there only twice, 1987! and 2020. Mid afternoon it was busy enough I had to park at the hikers lot and walk the last 3/4 mile up to the bridge. Note the trail you were on leads to the actual summit. There's some rock climbing at the end, so it's not for everyone.
Hello Traveling Robert😊😊🎸🎸🎵🎵, the Blue Ridge Parkway is one of my favorite drives. Grandfather Mountain, Crabtree Falls and MT. Mitchell, the highest mountain east of the Mississippi are my favorites along the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a website that shows you where Wallmart camping is available. OUTSTANDING video Robert👍👍👍! Looking forward to the next series.
At 28:40 you can almost here the Banjo's from the movie Deliverance!...LOL!! An excellent Penultimate episode leading us to the 2020 season finale! Who is ready for TR in 2021??!!
Wonderful video as always Robert..many thanks... Interesting you recharged your house batteries with the Bluettie...wish you talked more about doing that...but love your videos....
Fantastic video and premiere, Robert! Beautiful drives and mountain vistas, and scary hikes to the top of Grandfather Mountain! Thanks for another great video!
Hello Robert, I just finished watching your video, Summer 2020 episode 29, of your travel on the Blueridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain. I couldn't believe it, you where in my hometown of Elizabethton, TN. I was raised about two blocks from the Walmart, you did the live feed from. I know exactly where the TN welcome center is, and also the NC welcome center, on I-26. This area of Tennessee, is really beautiful in October, when the leaves are changing colors.
A couple of days ago I crossed halfway across that bridge. It really doesn’t sway. But the outcroppings on the other side - no way! I can rappel down a 100 foot cliff, but Don’t like standing on such without being tied in. You have courage going all the way to the end - with a camera running, too!
Thanks for the stop at Grandfather Mountain. I have been wanting to visit it the next time I am in the area, but haven't made it yet. That winding road was something else. Beautiful video Robert. I really enjoyed it. It puts me in the mood for a road trip in my new Hyundai Santa Fe.
Some of those roads! It's raining here in "sunny" California so we got to sit and enjoy another wonderful video. Happy travels, my friend, and thank you. Your videos are always such a great window to your adventures.
Robert. ...I'm a great fan of your videos. I may be in distant India but have seen almost all of you vudeis. I missed my US visit in 2020 but you have made it up so well. Thank you so much. SOOOOOPER
This video was really cool! I enjoyed the camping especially along the Blue Ridge Parkway. That is near the top of my to-do list! Those steep roads you took down the mountain were a little nerve-wracking but you handled it like a champ! That live stream is still fresh in my mind for some reason. I remember the sun setting in Walmart parking lot and you being unsure of whether or not you would stay the night. Now we know the rest of the story. Sorry for ranting but great stuff as usual Robert! 👍
So glad I found you.....by chance I have been wavering between an October fall foliage getaway between Wintergreen in Virginia and the Linville Falls Grandfather Mountain area.....and this fantastic episode cemented my thoughts that a trip tracing this episode was the way to go. Look forward to your next adventure as Blue Ridge/Blairsville Georgia is on my list of "go to" places as well...Cheers!
Beautiful.. I'd bet that road wasn't as.bad as the Alpine loop.. but I wasn't there. Someday Robert, someday I'll visit there because of your videos. Sorry to hear that Walmart doesn't allow overnight parking. 😟 Sorry to see the Summer 2020 series end. It's been a great show. Take care, Bill
Thank you again Robert for another excellent Sunday morning adventure! As you started across the swinging bridge I said at least this hike wasn’t like Angel’s Landing and then it turns into another one like that LOL! Keep up the great work! The Blue Ridge Parkway is on our bucket list for next time we are out east.
Robert, nice meeting you and Illy at Cottage Vineyard. My wife and I loved that vineyard, the wine and the view. We spent 5 days on our RV trip in Cleveland GA celebrating our 25th.
You always seem to find the high spots. Lol. Beautiful country I loved driving thru Virginia . You put yourself in some precarious spots your really brave. I'm not a height person 😂 Thanks for sharing, cheers🥂🥂
The most beautiful two places after watching your videos and being there...I would have say that Yosemite National Park, California and Hocking Hills Logan, Ohio. #1
Hey Robert, I'm a bit late catching this video 'cuz I've been on the road...in Florida! (Currently commenting from Marathon Key) Anywho, thanks for showing us around Grandfather Mountain. It's been on my bucket list and I've actually driven by a couple of times but didn't go up because of inclement weather. I love the whole Blue Ridge area, nice to re-travel the Byway with you. And yes, those roads do get pretty steep and windy in spots. Don't you hate it when the map program decides to sent you down some back-of-beyond road? Happy trails, man!
Wow what a great video. This is one of my favourite part of the United States. Robert, can you please make a video of how you level your RV by yourself and what tools you are using if any? Thank you for making our weeks full of nice dreams.
Robert, you stopped at the Walmart here in Elizabethton to do your livestream. There are campgrounds all over our area. I’m sure you could’ve found a place to spend the night!!
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the sights that my late wife Liz and I enjoyed many times over the years. In fact, I was born in Elizabethton MANY years ago! The new music is great. See you at Pelicamp someday (my lot is cleared and my well goes in next week).
Man that stew really looked tasty 😋 yum looks to me like you’re a pretty good cook. You cook kind of similar to me. The biggest difference being beer and wine. But the same vegetables and almost the same spices and herbs. So pretty close. Liked meeting Ile and your Mother. Nice family. You look so happy when with them. Love to see happy people.
Robert, one of things you'd find in that western part of North Carolina is how many known Cuban Americans you'd find that have moved there from Dade County!
Robert I found a device you might use to connect to 3g/4g internet without the need for a local wireless hot spot, you can use wired connectivity (ethernet) and the Proxicast PocketPORT 2. This way you can avoid grumpy park owners all together. Cheers, safe travels.
Cost of a campsite seems to have risen quite a bit over the years I've watched you, same here in UK. BTW you need to get a kayak as every lake you come to you say you would like to.
Love your videos. Gives my wife and I great ideas of places to go. We have a question, you have a small generator in this episode. What brand was it and does it work well?
doesn't matter how bad of a mood I am in always happy when the song comes on free in my rv please dont stop I need your videos in my life
Behind when we leave a place, we stay there, even though we go away.
So true!

Price lake is where I took my homemade kayak on her first trial run.

Hello, how are you doing
I enjoy the change of pace and that little tune you play with your RV cooking show
Sad summer 2020 is almost over. But you’ll be glad to be home I’m sure. You need a plaque above Minis door inside that says DONT FORGET YOUR HIKING SHOES. Thanks for showing off those mountains ❤
GREAT VISTAS..GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN IS SPECTACULAR..THANKS FOR THE VISIT
Blue ridge parkway episode was awesome! I think it’s time to move back east to explore this side of the US 😀
I live in Bristol, TN a few miles outside of Elizabethton, so it’s nice to see you enjoying this neck of the woods. I recommend South Holston dam in Bristol, and Roan Mountain State Park/Carver’s Gap the next time you’re in the area. Happy Travels!! 😊
Brittney, hello from your neighbor in Kingsport.
So much enjoyed your trip to Tennessee Robert! Crackle Barrel is my favorite! Hugs from Canada!⭐⭐🚐🍺🍺
