It was great to see you experience snow fall for the first time! I've often used a dustpan myself, so good call! Fortunately, the ground is still warm during the very early snows, so it's usually no problem navigating the roads. One of my favorite places in Colorado is the Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park, only an 8-hour drive for me. Thanks for another great video, Robert!

Hey Robert, I know you were on a tight schedule! Too bad you had to drive right by Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and couldn’t stop. It is well worth a stop. I lived in Colorado for 15 years before moving to Wyoming. (Coming up on 15 years in Wyoming now) you’ve had two good trips to Colorado and Utah so far. How about a trip through Arizona up to Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Arches NP, then to Colorado to Black Canyon NP. Follow your same route over Monarch to Salida, then turn north to Buena Vista and to Leadville. That is a gorgeous area along the Collegiate Peaks, the “roof” of Colorado. Then down to Breckinridge over to Dillon, then up from Idaho Springs, Colorado, past Central City to Estes Park up the back highway, the Peak-to-Peak Byway. Then you can hit Rocky Mountain National Park. Then you could go back east across the Sandhills of Nebraska, NE Highway 2. Just some ideas. 😀

There are so many places to travel to in the USA.. The hardest part is deciding where to go. Robert's videos help in showing and sharing information to the places he has been. Making choices much easier to make. Thank you Robert for sharing with us

Awesome snow! Glad you are enjoying it! Yup! Winter wonderland indeed! Thank you for driving through highway 50. The backroad is as pretty as I-70! I found that out just this past summer. Colorado does a good job clearing the highways. Even better than Denver or the other cities…that’s why some of my colleagues live in the mountains and work in Denver! An hour drive one-way…Thank you for showing my home town, colorful mountains of Colorado! Take care and stay safe! ❄️⛄️🌧

Happy Sunday Robert! I was on US 50 last year about 2 weeks behind you. The snow was gone and the fall colors were really starting to ramp up. Next time you're in the area of Blue Mesa Reservoir, I highly recommend the West Elk Scenic Byway and the Traders Rendezvous and Pioneer Museum in Gunnison.
Your philosophy about serendipity dictating the route--oh so true! Looking forward to visiting Kansas with you next week. Happy Trails!

RW Lehman - Thanks Robert. I particularly enjoyed this video as you traveled US 50 through Colorado. I traveled this route two days ahead of you from Montrose to Denver and it was so smokey you couldn’t see anything and so that snow storm cleared the air. This was the worst smoke from wild fires I have ever seen and so that snow was a blessing by clearing the atmosphere. You will have to take this route again when you have more time and good weather conditions.

I am glad you get to experience the snow fall! I like watching the snow fall. Again, thanks so much for having us on the road with you, see you onto the next one in Kansas. 🤟🏻😁🤟🏻

I know that highway 94 well. Wife grew up east of Pumpkin Center at Yoder. Yoder is just a Post Office with the ranch on the south side! A blizzard does not stop when the rolling hills contain mostly barbed wire fences and buffalo grass.
The view of Pikes Peak to the west and Colorado Springs in the valley between on a clear morning is amazing.

Have been looking forward to this one for a while now. Colorado has been at the top of my travel bucket list for a long time. I was there one time before on a extended train trip that I did back in the early 80's. I was supposed to take the train through the Rockies to Salt Lake City but we were bussed instead over I-70 which was pretty spectacular! I always said one day I would get back but never have. I think 2022 after the border opens back up might be my time finally! Thanks for giving me some more really good ideas of what to see when I finally get to Colorado! One of the views when you were passing the reservoir totally looked like Kamloops Lake in interior of BC northeast of Vancouver! Looking forward to your next video!

Hello Traveling Robert😊😊🎸🎸, I really enjoyed the ride through the Rockies along US 50. I have drivin that route westbound and Monarch Pass is very SPECTACULAR. I rode the chairlift to the very top of the ridge, overlooking SPECTACULAR mountain views in every direction. I also walked along the top of the Ridge. ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! I also stopped to visit Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, on my way to Utah. East of the Rockies into the Great Plains are for the most part flat as a pancake, especially in Kansas. I'm really looking forward to your drive through Kansas. Great video Robert👍👍. Maybe you will visit a zoo in Kansas City and see the PELICANS😊😊! Fly Pelicans!

About snow and chains...if it snowed lightly enough to completely melt dry by the next morning, you would probably not have needed chains the day before. Chains are for snow of some depth and slick where you really need traction. I am glad you are getting some experience with snow and driving. It is possible to have snow at high elevations in July in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, etc. since you seem to be drawn to the mountain west more and more, experience driving with the white stuff is good. 😀

You would have done better to use a broom rather than the dust pan to scrape off the snow, but I found it interesting to hear about experiencing falling snow for the first time in your life.
