One of the few regrets of my life, we moved when I was around 12 and I was just about to get my pointe shoes. Never continued ballet after the move and I have always dreamed and dreamed about getting my first pair. Too late now, I'm in my sixties!
I’m 13, I quit when I was 11 because the school I went to cost too much money. I also was about to get my first pair! I REALLY want some, but I’ve lost my flexibility. Could always get it back but there is not another studio within a 30 minute radius! I still love to dance around the house hehe
Wow so they really stand on the tip of their toes?!?....i always thought the foot was curled into a fist on top of the wooden block in the shoe....this takes lots of strength and pain tolerance it also makes sense to be thin as possible
chi chichi it’s actually not that painful because we have toe pads that protect our toes. At first the pain is bearable pain but after about a year or so you get used to the pain.
chi chichi yes I thought the same and since I couldn’t find a picture or a video that said otherwise I believed it until now, I clicked because of that’s because I saw it on the thumbnail
Ballet is beautiful. It takes serious strength of body and mind to compete. I met a ballerina when I worked in an assisted living facility. She danced professionally her entire life. She told me she loved it but she didn't like what it did to her body. Granted she was 90 when I met her. Her spine was at a complete 90 degree angle so she always pointed downwards and she couldn't walk at all. That's dedication to what you love!
We never cut out the leather bottom, we just break it by wrapping it around the door so it bends but still gives support. We also pour hot water into the box to soften the cardboard, then we put our toes in to shape it to fit. We also stitch the point so the satin is no longer slippery. And so much time sewing on the elastics and the ribbons. Such joy!
I use to to do ballet as a kid and absolutely loved it . Unfortunately, I had to move away after my fourth year of dancing because of my parents work and we couldn’t find a new ballet studio around my house . I tried around 8 more sports after this and none was as much fun as ballet . Now I’m way too old to start again ( I’m 13 ) and I regret it so much .
I did dance but my parents couldnt pay anymore😭😢😢 but when i get a little older like at 16 i promise myself ill get a job and pay for it myself but my parents might put me back in ballet i am already on pointe and im so good at ballet for my age but im trying really hard like every morning i wake up i stretch i do ballet and i work on postions, kicks, and pointe. Never give up on your dreams if u want something in life it never comes easy chase ur dreams no matter what😃😃😄
We have to get used to a certain sort of pain to reach any form of beauty... Even if i'm not a ballet dancer, i can watch them prepare themself for hours 💞
The red ones looked really beautiful. I will never dance en pointe even if I would do ballet, but I love to watch these videos, because the shoes fascinate me so much.
While I understand the willingness to make sacrifices for the art, I have always hoped that someone somewhere would come up with an innovation that would be a saving grace to young girls feet when they are getting ready to put on their first pair of pointe shoes.
When i was younger i was in ballet. I didnt get around to trying point shoes. But now age 14. I look back and think where i would have been if i just continued ballet and not gone through a fase thinking ballet was not cool. Now i watch dancers do ballet and i absolutly miss it
Wow tan hermoso, elegante y graciosos movimientos tan encantadores que tiene un trasfondo tan duro, que demuestra el trabajo duro que tiene que pasar toda bailarina de Ballet, todos mis respetos a todas las bailarinas del mundo
When i was 3 years old my mom took me to ballet class and i hate it so much i came out crying and now i’m a hip hop dancer because that is what i love to do and i’m proud of my self❤so for all the kids out there do that you love no matter what people say😊
There is always a cost to things that are really worth doing. The joy of dancing, hard as it can be on the body, well, when you're dancing you don't feel the pain yet you do it again and will for as long as you can. Till you're old or can't..
I always wanted to be a ballerina,I had the passion, the body and strength, I was always ahead in ballet classes, I enjoyed making my pointe shoes and even though I had to sacrifice a lot during my childhood I insisted, but ballet is really expensive, by the end of 8th grade my parents couldn’t afford it and I had to leave, my teacher was sad bcz I had so much potential 😣😣
Do professional ballet dancers get fitted for pointe shoes still, or do they stick to a few different pairs (for different ballets ofc, like different hardness levels) for each ballet season?
Lois Broadbent well my flexibility isn't the best, but it's always improving day by day. So first I wake up and in bed I reach my toes for 10 secs before geting up. When I studying I do it in the ground, simulating splits (can't do it yet 😭) or doing back straches for short amount of time, and sometimes when I walk I do some small jumps with my knees strached (why not?) And yoga helps a lot Well I hope it was useful! Have a nice time ^^
Well I’m pretty flexible so I can give you some of my stretching tips that I did to get flexible🙂 1. Stretch everyday (even if you’re sore) 2. Do both splits for 30 seconds and once you have your split do oversplits. 3. Stretch your straddle. Stretch to both sides then forward then over. Once you are down on your over straddle I recommend putting one leg on an elevated surface then going over. 4. Seal stretch will be your best friend. Once you are in seal stretch bend your legs and try grabbing them, once you’ve got them straighten them as much as possible until your legs are completely straight (your legs won’t be completely straight the first day. Just don’t give up!) 5. Do kicks!! I like to do 10 forward kicks, 10 side kicks, and 10 backwards kicks. (On each leg. And I’m sorry I don’t really know the name of the kicks, just kick as high as you can keeping good technique. 6. Going down into a lunge and trying to put your hip to the floor is a great stretch for getting oversplits. GOOD LUCK!♥️
I never been in some sort of sport I never liked ballet very much but something I can’t understand is the fact that I can stand on my fingers of my toes but it DOSNT HURT I can walk like that for 2-4 hours
I love ballet but I am contortionist and Serbian ballet (I live in Serbia) is not good but ballet is the best part of art that elegant, strong feets best thing ever I am veryyy talented for ballet when I was 3 grade i wanted to be professional ballerina but now (I am 6 grade) I am contortionist and do crazy stuff
I think ballet is beautiful, but I wouldnt do it myself haha. Respect to all the ballerinas out there.
Minori Miwa Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Ty :p
Its fun to me (sometimes) and I have feet problems and I'm a little heavier
thank you!!
Thank you im a ballerina
One of the few regrets of my life, we moved when I was around 12 and I was just about to get my pointe shoes. Never continued ballet after the move and I have always dreamed and dreamed about getting my first pair. Too late now, I'm in my sixties!
Sun Shine yeah I actually have just got my pointe shoes but I am already quite advanced in ballet
Ta H thats sad I do ballet right now and just got my pointe shoes
I’m 13, I quit when I was 11 because the school I went to cost too much money. I also was about to get my first pair! I REALLY want some, but I’ve lost my flexibility. Could always get it back but there is not another studio within a 30 minute radius! I still love to dance around the house hehe
:(
it is never too late to continue!!
Wow so they really stand on the tip of their toes?!?....i always thought the foot was curled into a fist on top of the wooden block in the shoe....this takes lots of strength and pain tolerance it also makes sense to be thin as possible

it hurts a lot at first but i’ve only been en pointe for 2 years and it doesn’t really hurt anymore
chi chichi it does HURT SO BAD but you get used yo it I am dancing in my pointe shoes everywhere
Then I lost them somewhere
chi chichi yes I thought the same and since I couldn’t find a picture or a video that said otherwise I believed it until now, I clicked because of that’s because I saw it on the thumbnail
it does hurt but we have lambs wool toe pads on our toes but you get used to the pain
Trust us our feet look like they're dying but in reality they're strong asf
Is Phoenix your real name?
It’s true guys
I...... I sure hope so.😰 I WILL TRUST YOU
At first they hurt but it’s easier when u break into them
That’s why you are not aloud to wear pointes till you dance 5 years straight. And it’s true, you train your feet for this.

If a ballerina injures herself foot only once but chooses to keep dancing, she can become crippled.
YES OMGGG i have watched the first one probably hundreds of times! thank you for this!!!!!
Sameeeeeeee
Yaaaa same here!!
hannah woolery me, too !!!
same!!!
I always wanted to be a ballerina but I grew up poor
Nini N. Same haha
Nini N. Im a Ballerina :)
Same for me. Whenever i see ballet video on youtube i'm getting a little bit sad actually
Nini N. Then be a self taught ballerina it will be hard but you'll get something out of it what's UA-cam for?
I gave it up when I was nine and I regret it
We never cut out the leather bottom, we just break it by wrapping it around the door so it bends but still gives support. We also pour hot water into the box to soften the cardboard, then we put our toes in to shape it to fit. We also stitch the point so the satin is no longer slippery. PLEASE!!! start a series with EN POINT.
Pointe*
WHAT MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED???? I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! I was so obsessed with the first video, I'm so glad y'all created a new one!
I love watching this! Seeing what a professional ballerina does is so cool, going on 11 years of ballet and 2 years of pointe!
Please do more of these!!! They're so therapeutic to watch!!!! I screamed so loud when this showed up in my subscription box
I LOVE how beautiful ballet looks and the dancers are INCREDIBLE. I tried it but I didn’t like it. I do tap now, but I regret not continuing ballet
Delaney Law its never too late,it will just take longer
Delaney Law I do tap as well although I still do ballet.
Sophie W So do I
Omg same I regret quoting it so much I would’ve started point this year or last year

Yeah, they do have really strong feet but
When I wear my pointe shoes, it doesn't hurt. But when I remove them, the next day my feet up to my calves hurt so much.
But It's worth it
Yes!! Yesterday I did my first pointe shoe practice and it felt so good!! So worth it too 😆😁
thankfully there no pain
Man you are talented
I respect all ballerina dancers the are strong ❤
Who else loves the feeling when you take off your pointe shoes after a long day? It feels sooooo good
3 years later and i still come back to watch this video, thank you to the artists
They make it seem so easy! it's incredible
I got my fist pair of pointe shoes today and I’m in love. I so ready for the hard work and pain❤️
Wow! This definitely requires so much strength and stability
Although your around 16 now you can still start ballet, I’ve seen people that are in there twenties start ballet and become a prodigy
I’m a ballerina and you do get used to the pain and it’s totally worth it
I did dance but my parents couldnt pay anymore😭😢😢 but when i get a little older like at 16 i promise myself ill get a job and pay for it myself but my parents might put me back in ballet i am already on pointe and im so good at ballet for my age but im trying really hard like every morning i wake up i stretch i do ballet and i work on postions, kicks, and pointe. Never give up on your dreams if u want something in life it never comes easy chase ur dreams no matter what😃😃😄
aesthetic tea kicks?
Wait are you en pointe without any current classes?
Am I the only one who gets unpleasant chills when looking at these?
We have to get used to a certain sort of pain to reach any form of beauty... Even if i'm not a ballet dancer, i can watch them prepare themself for hours 💞
The red ones looked really beautiful.
I will never dance en pointe even if I would do ballet, but I love to watch these videos, because the shoes fascinate me so much.
I grew too tall so that was the end of my Ballerina dreams... But still - the mere sight of a pink point shoe - makes me happy!
This is one of the most beautiful art forms, that said I can't help wondering if that is how foot binding was considered in its time.
While I understand the willingness to make sacrifices for the art, I have always hoped that someone somewhere would come up with an innovation that would be a saving grace to young girls feet when they are getting ready to put on their first pair of pointe shoes.
I was so obsessed with the previous en pointe video. I'm obsessed again
When i was younger i was in ballet. I didnt get around to trying point shoes. But now age 14. I look back and think where i would have been if i just continued ballet and not gone through a fase thinking ballet was not cool. Now i watch dancers do ballet and i absolutly miss it
WOW. I never knew on one toe. WOW, 10,10,10,10,10.🥇🏆
Respect for all those ballerinas who have to sacrifice their feet 💖💖

When i was 3 years old my mom took me to ballet class and i hate it so much i came out crying and now i’m a hip hop dancer because that is what i love to do and i’m proud of my self❤so for all the kids out there do that you love no matter what people say😊
I was randomly curious but damn, I have newfound respect for Ballerinas.
There is always a cost to things that are really worth doing. The joy of dancing, hard as it can be on the body, well, when you're dancing you don't feel the pain yet you do it again and will for as long as you can. Till you're old or can't..
My flat feet can’t handle that
Can’t even keep my mind own balance standing normally lol
Oh my its beautiful!
I’m starting pre-pointe soon.
綺麗だね
Siempre me ha apasionado el ballet
that just looks painful
It is until you get used to it
It is
Believe me. It is
...it is
My toenail came off soooooooo it is
She so full of discipline
I always thought that anything that was that beautiful, was a tough job. And it is.
I’ve been en pointe for 1yr now!!!!!
When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a ballerina, so badly. I never got my chance.
Reminds me of my sister. She is a ballerina too.
Cool!!
Do professional ballet dancers get fitted for pointe shoes still, or do they stick to a few different pairs (for different ballets ofc, like different hardness levels) for each ballet season?
Art.
Ballet is my life and i love it but my flexibility holds me back. Any tips??
Lois Broadbent well my flexibility isn't the best, but it's always improving day by day. So first I wake up and in bed I reach my toes for 10 secs before geting up. When I studying I do it in the ground, simulating splits (can't do it yet 😭) or doing back straches for short amount of time, and sometimes when I walk I do some small jumps with my knees strached (why not?) And yoga helps a lot
Well I hope it was useful! Have a nice time ^^
Well I’m pretty flexible so I can give you some of my stretching tips that I did to get flexible🙂
1. Stretch everyday (even if you’re sore)
Just don’t give up!)
Amazing
Oohhhh she had aspirationsss
I feel a sharp pain through my feet by watching this 💀
I miss dancing 😌
한국인 손!!!!!!!!!
저유!!
저요 ㅎㅎ
Awww a new one ❤❤❤
Question for ballerinas. Does that ouch pouch help or does it just pretend to help.?
제 꿈이 발레리난데 발레리나가 이렇게 힘드나요.. 3학년때 토슈즈를 시작해서4학년인데 지금 노력해볼께유💞
Кто из России?)
I love it
Wiih... Mantuul 😭❤️
I have a pointe! I really like it because I’m short, but, when I stand on my tip toes on the pointe I feel tall!
Stella Animations Uhh...
Great insight !
This particular part of ballet always look like kung fu for me. I mean they literally standing on one finger.
When I started ballet with 5 I thought that I would already get the typical ballerina dress and point shoes and guess what I didn't got any of these
Tia amo tu vídeo
Respect
Is Love ballet !!!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘
that moment when i know dances because i watched dance academy all the way through 3 times
