Putting gender aside from one melanated human to another....try not to place Black women in a monolithic group of similar thought an actions. Not all Black Americans are having relationship issues....there are plenty of Black women in healthy relationships with Black men.

i literally said not all Black women are the same or want the same things. I said nothing about relationships being “bad” nor did I say anything about who Black women were in relationships with.. so the purpose of this comment is what?

    • @problactive285

Because In the beginning of your video you made a lot of generalizations. For example, you claimed "nothing we do is good enough"....but you can only speak for yourself. You then went on to say "I'm excited for Black women in particular, what WE'RE going to be able to accomplish at this stage in OUR lives". Seems to me you view Black women as a monolith all making the same exact choices. Not all Black women are out there "consistently committed to refining themselves"....in contrast there are Black men who are doing refinement and self work. One can easily deduce you are team "Black woman" which is ok....but it doesn't speak to the complexities of the Black experience which isn't something that's gender specific.

@@problactive285 since it appears this is your first time on YT, let me explain. typically the first 30-60 seconds of a video is what you call a preview. this will usually review a snippet of material and the topic of conversation found throughout the entirety of the video. commenting on what’s in the very beginning of the video and making conclusions upon it without understanding or listening to the entirety of the video is irrelevant. while i’m not apart of the population that is confounded by the grammatical use of generalizations i understand it can be difficult to some in differentiating between the misuse of it vs the concise use of it. being that the only people this video is about and addressed to are black women, responding to anything else you’ve stated has no relevance to the conversation i’ve presented, but perhaps another video or creator may be better suited for your discourse. good day.

@@problactive285 Agreed. Although I don't believe we have to say "not all!" when discussing something because nothing is 100%. It's fine to address the vast majority of an issue. I did originally think that I stumbled on a black male misandry channel or a member of the failed divester movement.
I don't know if you heard, but I did catch when she said not all black women. (I'm assuming you're a black woman) I thank you for seeing black men's humanity because it's often overlooked or dismissed. However, I see the black feminist movement/black church to be largely responsible for our current situation. Of course we as black men have our failures but we are often a small component because our influence/reach is mediocre at best. And any degree of pushback or critique is considered hatred of the BW. Which the vast majority of us absolutely love the BW.
I'm certainly glad that this UA-camr didn't go into division and hate against black men. I did like that she also included black men in the equation as when discussing the black community many only see a black woman and children. The man is usually excluded from the conversation regarding the family concept. I just found her channel and hope that she maintains a positive ripple effect. But I recognize that you can have a wonderful all inclusive channel and only have 5k subs averaging 1k views per video. But if you push filth/ hateful rhetoric and divisive content, the sky's the limit. Those are the channels that hit 200k-1million subs in 18 months and gain fame and notoriety.
Marginalization and mockery pays big dividends on the individual scale. Which is a big reason why we suffer as a community because we can't do this as individuals. The system isn't even designed to reward individuals over the group. Despite the lies of pure capitalism and individualistic/traditionalism, even the extreme wealthy engage in nepotism and empower the lamest and most incompetent of their group. Because they understand what's at stake. We need more channels that embrace both black men and women and I hope this channel is one of them.

@@d.rabbit7276 I'm a Black man that advocates for Black relationships. Her video came up on my feed and I clicked on it because she is attractive and her crown is radiant....But I was put off by her opening statements that's why I left the comment. When I see red pill content by men who make generalizations about Black women I have the same sentiment. More and more I see Black woman and Black men grouping themselves on "teams" (passport bros, divestors etc etc) as if their experiences are not inclusive of the other gender. The reality is when racism and oppression attacks us its not gender specific we are intrinsically linked. We should be unified in our approach not separate.

As a first gen college student racism is prevalent and often feels like it’s getting worse. RIP Dr. Bailey. She held a prominent position and took her own life. Her mental health was not taking seriously.
I would like racism to end. Unfortunately it seems to be indoctrinated in American society.
I want Black women to take care of their overall wellbeing.
    Life is way too short.
Also singleness is not a bad thing. Paul talked about how it was better to be single and to focus on God. Singleness is not a curse.

      thank you love!
is it a PWI? they're a crazy experience! Seriously though our well being needs to be our number one priority. We endure far too much and I know many blk women feel like they're in a very similar head space as Dr. Bailey and we're only mistreated even more.
People always have a list of who blk women should be and what blk women should do and it's only ever with their own benefit in mind. We tend to go along with it for the most part thinking it will finally grant us positive results or what we truly desire, but it only ends up k!IIing us, smh.
I def agree that singleness is not a bad thing either. It's the opposite of a curse, its a blessing!

this is a podcast, not a remedial classroom where the teacher has to give the answers bc the students can’t think for themselves. the purpose of a podcast is to talk. talk through. talk around. talk about. i won’t argue that a talk fast though😭 in any case sparking conversation, ideas, and inspiring critical thought is debatably more powerful than just giving people “answers” and all my different topics do just that.

A man aims to work and care for his family if he he is successful he will be able to attract and keep a good woman . A woman works hard and makes money to look after herself. Hence she is independent, needs no man. More importantly, a man would not see the point of trying to keep and care for a woman who clearly has aimed her whole life at caring for only herself. hence she is unlikely to want to cook and care for him. he does not want a competition or a equal partner he want a wife.

Blk women need to stop listening to society as you see according to the scriptures being single is not a bad thing .
