It's a Mediterranean style, you can find it also in Marseilles France, Morocco, Algiers and other cities in Algeria, in my town it's in bluegreen color, and also in Sidi Boursaid and Djerba in Tunisia. I recommend the last two cities for you Gabriel to discover and review then you can also visit Carthage in your way.
that what i thought? can you paint it another color? All the islands are like that i think. Blue and white. great to look at but man it gets boring after awhile to see all the white. like where the hell do i live? in the blue and white house of course? lol

WOW I cannot belive how beautiful Anafi is now.My dad was born on Anafi in 1933 and took us to visit twice in 1967 and 1972 but there were no roads no cars no buses only donkey now I would like to go visit again one day Thank you for the video

Incredibly beautiful little island. I especially loved all the narrow lanes and steps, the little terraces and houses with glimpses of ordinary Greek life. These are some the Gabrielties that make your vids so unique, I think.
To me this looks like the perfect destination for a 1-2 week summer vacation in the greek islands: low key, laidback, nature a its purest albeit a little barren but man that
room looks so cozy, who could ask for more? i would spend time there in a heartbeat as opposed say to go to a place like Las Vegas yak!

You should have mentioned that the upper plaka in athens with its narrow little stairways was built from craftsmen of anafi island 🤓
Actually craftsmen from Anafi island made this little village called "Anafiotika" in Plaka, under the Acropolis, in order to have a place to stay in Athens. They were employed by the first king of independent Greece, king Otto, in order to build his palace in Athens, in Syntagma square, which now houses the Greek Parliament.

Many, many years ago I was offered a job on the island of Hydra. To my eternal regret I never took it. Leonard Cohen lived on Hydra for nine years. No cars only mules. A beautiful harbour. Famous for the 1950s movie "Boy on a Dolphin" with Sophia Loren. Have you been there or do you plan to visit? I would love to see a video of you roaming around that particular island.
1985 war ich auf Anafi. Damals gab es weder ein Hotel noch Guesthouse. Wir haben beim Bürgermeister und seiner Frau , in einem Ziegenstall geschlafen. Die beiden hatten ein Kafenion. Im Hafen gab es ein Lokal und eine Bar. Oben in der Chora war nochmals ein Lokal, dass war alles zu der Zeit. Es war wunderschön und ich werde die Zeit nie vergessen.

Never considered visiting Greece but this peaceful island would be nice for 2--4weeks is tempting SeaView, relaxing beach, Greek food and company of a nice Greek woman. Seems to me better than a lot of high tourist islands we Americans go to.

Heya Gabe! Love your channel and your videos! Keep up the good work! There's a neighboorhood located in Plaka, Athens called Anafiotika. It was built and took its name by the old Anafian construction workers who arrived in the area back in mid 19th century due to the refurbishment of King Othon's Palace. And this neighborhood looks much like Anafi.
Hi Gabriel, It's definitely a change of pace from where you were in some of those locations in Asia and some parts of Europe it seems you can unwind in those Greek islands.
I think that you are a gutsy traveller, Gabriel ... going to where they don't speak a ton of English.

Yes, I lived in Portland from 2002-2009 and still pass through there a few times a year. I know where Longview is, I worked for a guy there a few times when I was living in Portland.

Yeah I think I forgot to mention it in the video tour of the ferry. And now I can't remember. I think around 30 euros. The slower, bigger ferries are always cheaper than the faster ones.
