Love when fans put these lists together. I think the most polarizing album is One on One. Seems like people either have it near the bottom or near the top. I’m with you, I love it. I know they’ve become kind of trendy picks but my favs are Cheap Trick and Cheap Trick ‘97. Great list!
Excellent and fun list, thanks for putting it together! I've been a CT fan since 8 years old (1978) and they were probably my gateway band into heavy metal. I've been buying their new records right after release since Dream Police. 😃 19. Bang, Zoom, Crazy, Hello 18. Woke Up with a Monster 17. Lap of Luxury 16. All Shook Up 15. Busted 14. Special One 13. @@PetesCDVinylWorld Yeah, and you have The Latest at (I think) #14, which is one of my favorites. If we all liked things exactly the same, the world wouldn't be nearly as interesting. But our top 3 are the same, just in a slightly different order! Rock on.
Seems like I remember Cheap Trick saying they were going to release five new studio albums in five years. I think they released three in about three years including the X-mass album.
Nice review. I am so pleased to find someone who likes "One on One" almost as much as I do. I've watched 7 other reviewers and the highest placement was 6, some not even in their top 10. Dream Police is perfect except "Need Your Love" and "Gonna Raise Hell". I know hardcore CT fans love "Gonna Raise Hell", but I think it's so-so. I also like that almost every review I've watched placed Cheap Trick (1997) relatively high on their lists. I thought I was the only one who loved this album. I love every song on In Color and One on One, but the strength of "Dream Police", "Way of the World" and "Voices" put that album atop of my list, but this can change from week to week. 1. Dream Police 2. In Color 3. One on One 4. Cheap Trick (1997) 5. Heaven Tonight
Enjoyed your critique. Don't agree with your placements necessarily but agree as a lifetime fan that so many of their albums started so hard that it didn't matter if the rest of the album tailed off. My fave is their first one. That's when I discovered them and they had an immediate impact on me. It was heavy, loud, raw and quite alternative but still with an obvious Beatlesque pop sensibility - there was nobody who looked or sounded like them. Did they invent power pop? They must have been near the forefront of that genre. I stuck with them through thick and thin waiting and hoping that they'd find that energy and sound again and eventually they did - on CT 97. But in between and ever since, so many utterly brilliant songs and cool, classic albums. What a freaking great band and they thoroughly deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. Much respect to them.

Seriously, you have somewhat lost me. I never play the first 4 albums. Dream Police is annoying as is Heaven Tonight. We're Allright is by far my favourite along with the one before and the most recent one. Other 2 faves are Monster and Busted. Its fascinating how every one has such different tastes. Good on you Pete for putting this up. I own them all on CD as well. Call me odd but I also think that Arrival is light years ahead of any other Journey Album and I own them all as well. Top 5: We're Allright In Another World Bang Zoom Crazy Hello Woke Up with a Monster Busted Honourable mentions: The Latest and Cheap Trick 1997
Just studio albums, my top 5 is the first five albums. Shared #1 spot for Dream Police and Heaven Tonight for me, followed by All Shook Up at #3, then In Color and the debut. With At Budokan, I guess I'd have to split the #1 spot three ways. Great video!
@@PetesCDVinylWorld Or maybe In Color before All Shook Up? 😄 I don't know man, these records are too good! I love the song "The World's Greatest Lover" so much, like you said if the rest of the songs were shit, it'd still be a great album for me.
There’s never “to much” new music... Other than that fun list! Cheap Trick rules! Good ear about the guitar sound on Next Position Please.I’ve always thought the same thing.
I’m sorry it took You Tube this long to suggest your video to me. I know how frustrating it is to upload and not see the view count go up. I’ve watched all of Dr. Fuuks reviews of every album. Have you seen those? He never gave a full breakdown of his favorites. I think there is something “special” to discover on each album except ironically “special one” I think fans gravitate to the era of Cheap Trick they discovered them in. Even though I live in there town Rockford I didn’t gravitate to them until I bought the EP “Say Goodbye” from Best Buy. That being said, my favorite first half of an album is “All Shook Up”
Thanks for watching. Yes, I watch Dr. Fu**'s vids, he did some great reviews of Cheap Trick, very funny too. I was actually suprised this video didn't get more views as well.
Huge Cheap Trick fan. As I grew up in the 80s The Doctor is not my least favourite, it’s not that bad in my opinion. At least it’s not boring. My least favourite is actually Special One which is boring. Woke Up With A Monster is Underrated so good to see you ranked it pretty high. I like Busted more than Lap Of Luxury. My favourite is In Color then One On One and then Rockford which you have way lower than I expected. It’s my favourite cheap Trick album of the last 30 years just in front of Bang Zoom Crazy Hello which I agree is really good. Great video 👍🏻

I think if you got it when it came out you liked it. However if you started listening to it in 85 the band had evolved a bit and you would find it hard to relate to.
If you see the crowd nodding off that's because they're a casual fan and only there for the hits and haven't taken time to listen to the whole catalog and we fans should throw tomatoes at those people lol
I didn't exactly think Rockford was all that great. It's okay....but it doesn't interest me much....your "legacy" theory may have some merit I must agree... Love the EP!....The 97' really blistered. Why it didn't do better who knows? Interesting ranking......good vid though!
