I've had one of these for maybe 3 years now and had none of the problems you describe, i did swap the standard bridge out for a Gretsch style Space Control but that had more to do with string spacing,
With a pickup that allegedly does not reproduce the fundmental fequencies, it would be really helpful to have a sound sample. I have never had a _thin_ sounding bass pickup, and I have no idea what could cause high pass filtering like that. Maybe out-of-phase wiring? But that would only apply in the middle position, so the single pickups should be fine. One pickup alone should not even be _able_ to "filter" low frequencies. Have you cross referenced this weird result - on the same rig without changing the settings - with another bass that you know to be fully functional?
I have no intention to re-assemble it with the original pickups. How about if I send them to you and you run the additional tests? For free, you just pay the sipping. Heck, I can send all the wiring as well, I will be redoing it anyway. I would be interested to know the results whether I was right or wrong.
@@shurymury That is not what I meant. Have you tried another _bass_ with the exact same setup (amp, setting, cable, etc.) to rule out other sources of error?
I don't think you can expect a bass at this price point to be perfect. All are easily fixable as you pointed out, whether you want to be bothered is another question. I see that Vintage have brought out something very similar and looks like it may be the same body?
This is factually incorrect, none of it is easy fixable. Scratch on the top I do not even know how to fix, not even going to bother. Pickup replacement is hardly an easy fix. I was prepared to do that though cause I am picky and I can do it. Floating bass bridges are not exactly sold in a local store either.
I was wonder, under the wooden bridge is solid wood or hollow ? Actually I want to know where in this bass is solid wood and in where is hollow 'cause if I buy this bass I want to make some upgrades.

@@shurymury Hello.Interesting review. Are there any pickups in the market for this? Tv Jones are very expensive by the way...Thank you.
@@karloseklasamentes There are some on amazon with the same size (72x32mm). I have made no progress since the video, busy with the playing. :)

@@jcoolverine3483 this is a semi-hollow bass. There is a wooden block under pickups and the bridge.
@@shurymury thats great! thank you for the reply!
You not right here.
