19:46 The answer is no. Children shouldn't be forced by their parents to line up outside shops for a cup regardless of the brand, especially in the cold weather. It makes absolutely no sense why anyone "needs" a $50 (or however much they are) cup.
I get secondhand embarrassment from seeing people walking around with any Stanley cup now because of this craziness. The limited edition ones are a million times worse in my mind. And people were trying to buy them by the cart trying to make sure other people couldn’t buy them. It’s ridiculous behavior.
I also get secondhand embarrassment. I always have to refrain from saying "that's embarrassing" when someone is showing off their Stanley. It's probably what needs to be said though.
I will not pay 45 dollars for a cup to drink something out of. The reason why people are doing this is because they are trying to make money from the limited-edition cups.
Makes me a bit apprehensive to go out shopping one day & some viral item is going to get everyone hyped up that I have no idea is going down at the moment!! 🙅🏼♀️ Everyone is getting a little out of "HEAD" & hands nowadays!! 😂😬 Please, people stop contributing to this! If only they could make enough for people.. this wouldn't be a problem.
I have a Stanley. But seriously, people need to chill out over a literal cup. I remember the good old 2010’s where kids were happy over a Barbie set. Now 5 year olds are getting bullied for not having a 60$ cup and adults going animalistic for them. Insane stuff.
Yea but I don’t love Stanley I just only love therian masks and hoodies or gums. L’m not trying to be emo or hurting my self I just love eating gum is so delicious!!
You know how you can avoid this insanity, save 45 dollars and be unique at the same time? Don't buy a Stanley cup. I have a inexpensive Bubba from Walmart that I have had for years. It keeps things icy cold for 24 hours even in the GA heat. Truly, this behavior is ridiculous and baffling.
Yes!!!! I bought one and loved so I got all 3 of my boys one and they love them too. They love having icy cold water to drink after gym and weight lifting. And I’ve told them that material items don’t have to be name brand, they just need to work. Love those bubba cups
We used to carry the half gallon size bubbas on jobsites and they were great. Just bulky and a bit hard to manage. They kept things cold and didn't leak
My friend's wife gave me one of those Bubbas a few years back that she didn't use anymore. I still have it but I've never used it. I didn't know they were that good. She just complained that it was way to big for her and was just taking up space in her cabinets. I'll have to try it out.
I just got my Bubba for $13 on Amazon. I love it and I prefer the chug style, bonus it doesn't leak like the Stanley Cup. Its only 24 ounces but that's okay, the sink is only steps away lol
On Saturday we went to my aunt's house and she was talking about how my cousin was crying because someone stole her Stanley cup at the gym. My mom got scared and told my dad (a construction worker) he better watch out because someone might steal his Stanley thermos at work. 😭😭😭 I don't think they realize people are only insane over the cup and not a thermos. His burrito is safe.
Nice to see that little girl being so appreciative of getting a gift. It was so cool that she hugged her dad so many people just think they are owed something for the sake of doing nothing.
Yeah they are, I have one. It's the insanity over these particular releases. I do happen to have one of the rare ones but I found that out after I got it. I would never have gone to this extreme. They are absolutely for everyday people, they're not like 1000 dollars. They're expensive but they last forever. The people that put them up on shelves freak me out though, like why? It's an object that's meant to be used for a purpose.
Saying "a child in a stroller in winter is child abuse" is a bit insane. What are people supposed to do, keep their children indoors for almost 6 months of the year? So long as they're warm, it's not an issue. But taking a child to Target in the middle of the night to get an insulated cup, and where there could possibly be unhinged adults, well that's not something a good parent should do. EDIT: OMG, just got to the part where adults are all bundled up with gloves, hats, scarves and blankets, and the children are just standing around with none of these. What are the adults thinking?
@@MarieAnne. no it’s not. We’re not talking about a kid in a stroller in winter generally here, taking them for a walk in the park etc in winter in the DAY is fine. However to make them sit up during the night for HOURS in the cold IS.
The obession of consumerism (generally, anyway) just became a freaking horror movie, further exacerbated by social media. I don't even bother with Black Friday. Nothing of that sort is worth the hype in the long run. If anything, all that hype over material things will often lead to eventual disappointment and emptiness. All the more reason I just stick to food giveaways.
My kids went to a public school in a rich neighborhood. People driving sports cars, brand names, one mom lived two houses down and drove her kid to and from school. My kids started complaining that they didn't have brand name clothing and were starting to act like jerks. That was their last year in public school. Homeschool now, garden, livestock. My kids look at name brands with no desire now. They're also the first ones to invite others to play at the park. Best decision was taking them away from a consumerism society.
"Get him! Get him! Stop him! - I didn't touch him." Just a friendly warning, when you shout "get him" and something happens to that person by some one else's hand, you are also accountable by law.
I remember taking a late-night drive, about 1:00-ish and i see multiple tents lined up and even more girls lined up for the new Stanley cup. What a disgrace.
I feel like it’s ridiculous that adults are fighting each other over a cup that is $50 like what are we showing children that it’s OK to push somebody over or get into a fight with somebody in public because they can not get a $50 cup
@@nightshade9184 honestly, that was crazy mainly because they’re trying to get a toy for their kid but the main difference between that and Stanley Cup or that they’re not getting it for anybody else they’re getting it for themselves and only themselves or they’re getting to take it up charge it on eBay

If it's a gamer nerd type of person they are more civil because they are not part of the masses like everyone else is. All im saying is just my opinion so yeah.
I don't know if it's because I'm a man, or I have a better sense of self-esteem than a lot of people, but when I graduated from high school, I stopped caring about being trendy and fitting in to avoid being heckled by other people. I always hated it. Now I'm 43, and I still do what "I" want to do, wear what I want to wear, etc. High School mentality has put me off for life.
Same. I am only 25 but I have always been like that and even in my school time people told me its incredible how little I care about other people's (invalid) opinions and how I literally never changed. I never followed trends, and if I did it was discovering something new that I like and still do to this day. I think it has a lot to do with the strength of your personality, how much you can get influenced by other people.
Whats a coincidence is that today while I was studying for my exams, I was reading about "The minds of people" And this video just made me think back to that multiple times. In the story, a Man was selling some fruit. The man sold one fruit to a lady for x amount of money but then the lady said, "Hey, since we're neighbours how about you give me another as a gift?" . The guy gave it to her as a gift and then arrived the next lady, this time the man sold two fruits for the same x amount of money again so that he could give it to her as a gift , but the next lady said "Hey, since we're neighbours how about you give me another?".. so she got three. And after 8 more ladies bought from him using the same tactic, the last lady ended up with 11 fruits. When the whole neighbour hood heard that one lady got more than the other, all of them came together and confronted the man about it. The first lady that only got two fruits complained about how others got more than her. And she wouldnt have been satisfied if they all got the equal amount of fruits either.. She would've only been satisfied if she got the most amount of fruits. The last lady however, didnt complain. She was very satisfied that the others didnt get the same amount as she did. After all the customers complained, they all asked for their money back. The last lady ALSO asked for her money back, even though she got the most fruits. The man just wanted all the problems to end and so he gave back their money but in the end, almost none of them were satisfied except the last lady ofcourse. The story explained that when things get competitive, people's greediness natrually makes it so that they want more than the others. People's greediness can also make them irrational, its as though they never had empathy. The person who wrote that article wanted people to know how scary it is that the greediness in the minds of people would only be satisfied if it got the best. And yes there was surely a time that I acted the way those ladies did, greediness is in everyone but we don't know it, sometimes we dont realize what it does to us and the people buying these cups are also acting the same. Thats why the writer of the story mentioned to think about the effects greediness has on us. and now I realize how much enlightment I got just from reading that article that I was forced to because of school
I bought one before I realized how much hype they were creating. When my 10 year old boy said excitedly, "YOU GOT A STANLEY???" I was shocked he knew about them, lol.
@_.aniMATTion If you do the lead poisoning test inside the straw or where it goes.. No, it's not "protected" & if it's damaged.. I wouldn't chance that either!
I will say when i was a child and you gave me coffee cup instead of a toy i was not getting a great gift, these poor kids are getting ripped off and they dont see it lol
I would personally be waiting for a plushie or for a phone or computer - something that is far more useful than a metal cup or a book you might as well just download a PDF of.
In case you need this info, Walmart has their own brand called bubba and they are 1/4 of the price of Stanley and keep your drinks cold for hours and hours. Many times, I’ll still have ice in it the next day when it has been over 24 hours. And I live in the desert of New Mexico so if it works here, it will work anywhere lol
The Stanley Cup is the championship hockey trophy. There's only _one._ These things that are apparently inducing bizarre behavior are double wall stainless cups, and lots of different manufacturers produce them. I have a Yeti, a Contigo, a Bubba, and a Mossy Oak. The Contigo gets used most often because it fits in the cupholder in my truck.

Yea they are crazy parents or mothers or fathers like what Stanley can even do.

I have a Stanley. But seriously, people need to chill out over a literal cup. I remember the good old 2010’s where kids were happy over a Barbie set. Now 5 year olds are getting bullied for not having a 60$ cup and adults going animalistic for them. Insane stuff.

I have a skull tumbler that I bought at Spencer’s like 6 years ago. It holds liquid, so it does what it’s supposed to do.
That’s child abuse. This is ridiculous over a cup. The kids up at 1-6am need to be in BED not in a cold parking lot
EDIT:
OMG, just got to the part where adults are all bundled up with gloves, hats, scarves and blankets, and the children are just standing around with none of these. What are the adults thinking?
@@MarieAnne. no it’s not. We’re not talking about a kid in a stroller in winter generally here, taking them for a walk in the park etc in winter in the DAY is fine. However to make them sit up during the night for HOURS in the cold IS.
