McDonald's Employee EXPOSES What They Do, TikTok Goes Viral

- It’s not hard to see the appeal of fast food. It’s budget-friendly, it’s convenient, and if you’re not expecting Michelin star quality, it can be pretty tasty. But appetizing and safe are two different things. People are suing your favorite fast food restaurants, items are being recalled, employees are being forced to serve food gone wrong, customers have been hospitalized and some "ingredients" have no business winding up on a customer’s plate. Is eating fast food still worth the risk?

I worked as a health inspector, for 15 years. If you had seen the things I've seen in the kitchens of restaurants, you'd stay home and cook your own meals.
How often do places get shut down? Also are people informed of a health inspection because ive heard that's a thing and to me it makes so sense to do that because they could deep clean before the health inspector comes
I mostly did surprise inspections. As a result, they were caught off guard. Even the inspections I performed, where they had notice, the kitchens were atrocious. Expired food, dead insects, cross contamination of food. It wasn't just fast food places, the dine in restaurants were just as bad.
@@johnleak8396 oh no, thanks for the gross info
I can imagine, I watched kitchen nightmares with ramsey
Ya. I believe. As every now and then I get sic. Diarrhea. After restaurant s. . Bad case of that. At home eating that doesn’t happen.
What’s ridiculous is that fast food is now often around the same price as what you can get in a sit-down restaurant.
exactly hence i was surprised that the lady said its cheap meals .
That's what I was thinking the other day when I paid $13 for a combo at the Chinese food place
exactly, it had yrs since I went to a fast food place, I had wendys yesterday - ordered two meals, a burger and 10 pieces of chicken nuggets came out to $26 something - I would've been better off going to a restaurant and paying more or less the same price for real food
Exactly. Wife and I went to Burger King and it was $18 for the two of us. I just got there for the Surge
I recently went thru the McD drive thru at breakfast time and heard the car behind me have a $75.00 order. Hope he was buying for a large group! Prices are insane now. Wish the service & food matched the price.
BRAVO TO THE EMPLOYEES who went to social media to put the restaurants on blast!
It’s the state health inspection authorities and lazy greedy franchise owners moreover McDonald’s for not giving a care who are at fault
The expired food problem is due to a conflict of interest between the general manager and his bonus. GM's get bonuses for keeping food costs down. So, they decided their bonus was worth intentionally poisoning his community. That's such an abuse of power that it should carry felony charges.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
They are setting their chain up for this kind of failure if they give bonuses on keeping food costs down. Of course someone is going to cut corners in order to do this. They are incentivizing fraud and someone up top has to know full well they are doing it.
That's goes towards the chain restaurants
Remember, nobody is stopping you from cooking your own meals. Once you discover the link between eating right and feeling good you will never want McDonald's again
Time, money and schedules to keep are some things. During the week if we make home cooked meals it leaves less than an hour of quality time to spend with the kid. One can only prepare so much fresh food so far in advance.
Amen.
@@hanselthecaretaker You may consider a pressure cooker and slow cooker.
Yes, I am glad God gave me the strength to cut ties with McDonalds, and other fast food companies. I miss McDonald's though, awesome childhood memories. But that only lasted for some time. I liked BKs as well and Starbuck's frapps are delicious. I only buy their bottled drinks, from supermarket (or online). IT is super sad how they're treating the food and their staff and customers, lately, in the past decade. And it has gotten worse, since 2020.
I don’t eat “Fast Food” ever, so whatever “other ingredients” are found in it is of no concern to me.
If anyone wants to risk their own health by eating that 💩that’s on them.
I was always taught: Any restaurant you go in, go to the bathroom. If it isn't spotless, eat somewhere else. The reason being that if they can't be bothered to properly clean the restroom that everyone sees, they surely aren't cleaning the kitchen that remains largely unseen.
Same here!
Also the dumpster out back as an inspector I can promise you the correlations are fact
From a restaurant manager, you are 101% correct. This, and seek out open kitchens. Not foolproof, but any kitchen willing to let you see the operation has put cleaning and health standards on top priority.
I eat restaurants where I can see them cook the food I don’t trust anyone
Yep. I agree.
Not even “budget friendly” anymore !
And they are getting more expensive.
It costs more at fast food joints now than at a chain restaurant. But having said that, it's probably not better.
They talk about USA. Its different there than UA or any other European Country. There eating take outs is budget friendly.
Yea I work at a Wendy's rn and they stopped giving employees a free meal and instead give employees a $6 discount on a meal every day they work. There are only a couple things you can get for $6 or less. Their burgers alone are more than $6
it never was. people don't know how to shop/cook any more.
I remember working as a security guard at a Jack in the box warehouse and seeing barrels of salsa sitting in the hot sun and bulging. When I asked an employee if they were going to dispose of the spoiled sauce, they told me "NO, we're packaging it up and shipping to our stores." When I got off work, I called the Health Department! Beware people and don't eat the salsa.
You can make your own, just chop up a few veggies. Onion, green pepper, cherry tomatoes, mix together.
I think the problem is nobody cares about anything anymore. From the employees that don’t clean the restaurants, all the way to the factory workers who prepare the food for the restaurants. Society is really going down hill fast.
So what happens next?
Yes, that's what I was thinking. I worked in a fast food restaurant when I was a teenager and some workers don't care.
MARANATHA ! OH LORD COME QUICKLY 😢
Do not forget bitter persons who spit in your Food or do worse just bc they are miserable. Cook at home, it is healthier and won't cost much
Exactly right
As a former employee of McDonald's back in 1982, we took great pride in serving safe food. The management was on top of their game. It's really sad how things have changed!!!
Back in those days, and even into the 90's, being McDonalds-trained as an employee in the fast-food industry, meant that you had no better training in the industry, and were a near-guaranteed hire at any other brand of fast-food service. Nowadays, if you dare to claim you worked at McDonalds, it means automatic deprogramming and retraining in that restaurant you've chosen to apply at, and only if there's no one else more qualified (ie. no work experience in the fast-food business at all) that is competing for that same job slot.
As you said, its truly sad! Remember working for only $4.25 an hour? 😅
That’s the problem…management isn’t staying on top of people
Back then it was a treat to go out to eat. Now, it's a way of life and people don't care if you go to their establishment or not. Someone else will.
Even in the late 70's & early 80's McD's tasted mediocre and a lot of their 'stuff' tasted alike to me. Too much grease, salt, and sugar.
I think its hard to manage all those stores
I no longer eat fast food, just looking at the personal hygiene of the employees makes it no longer a safe plan if you want to keep you and your family healthy. Sad but true.
People are generally gross. I don’t trust them. No offense. I also don’t trust the ingredients in the food anymore, and the cost of fast food in California is now so high that I won’t even bother. I just won’t do it.
Some of the unfortunates they hire... ¿
When my son turned 17 he got his first job @ McDs. He said NEVER order the shakes or ice cream. The machines are NEVER CLEANED! 🤮
Funny that because everytime I've tried to order a shake the machine is broken or sorry it's just been cleaned
@@Kelly-oe8kr
It’s broken because it’s filthy. ‘Just been serviced’ is what they tell you to keep you from getting sick.
@melissadavis7234 - at McDonald's, I was always told the ice cream machine was broken or down for cleaning. When I did get the ice cream, I got diarreah. I quit ordering the ice cream. Oddly Wendy's ice cream machine is identical to McDonald's but I never got the diarreah with a Wendy's Frosty.
That’s so gross. I used to work night shift several years ago and I cleaned it every night around 11pm. It wasn’t hard to do, just annoying to do while taking orders and everything else. I was told if it wasn’t done properly calcium would eventually build up in the lines. If the ice cream machine is “broken”…someone is slacking off and didn’t clean it 😂
I think I'm going to be sick!!

This is the reason why I eat at home. I use to work for a Sheraton Hotel Restaurant. I quit because the manager wanted the waiters and waitresses to take the unused butter off of the customer's plate and put it into a large plastic container. They remixed it and put in the refrigerator and reserved it. Be careful of what you are eating. It may taste good but you will be surprised what goes on behind the doors of a kitchen. Always say a blessing before you eat.
At a Mexican restaurant we ate at the reused chips from baskets on the table. They fry them up to make them look fresh. We started finding salsa cooked on them. I started pouring them into my plate and threw napkins and anything left on plates on top. They couldn’t refry that. If I needed a takeout box I’d always take the chips with me. People just don’t care. Back in the 80’s it wasn’t like this.
I worked at Bob's Bigboy when I was 16. I was a dishwasher and one of the managers would dig through the trash and pull out unused jelly packets to recycle them.

🤮 That's disgusting.
Sheraton has fallen!
God bless those employees who spoke up against those greedy companies. Especially who lost their jobs for doing so.
Food poisoning is hard to prove; Even lawyers decline such cases. What a shame!
When I worked at mc Donald's in the 80's, it was my job to make sure that the kitchen was cleaned. I worked grave yard to clean the kitchen.
I used hot water and cleaner to clean all the greasy parts. Even the air vents.
I tore apart the ice cream and all the drink dispensers making sure they were clean and sanitized.
We cooked our food to order and not ahead letting it sit.
We ate at a Mexican fast food place and the food had a metallic taste. We stopped going back there.
Coriander / cilantro perhaps?
Fast food workers today are usually not there to do a good job.
My son report Dunkin’ Donuts and was fired he turned around and sued them. Do not let the fast chain restaurants get away with things that would put people’s health at risk.
How much did he win?
Did he win at all ?
Hope he won, those people have no right to just take in money and not care.

So, you all are just thinking how much could you get ! That’s the same as these stores ! You’re no better than any other scammer !
Okay, I think I'm just going to cook at home now...forever. Grandma was right to make everything from scratch.
Yes, she was! And not only is it healthier it tastes so much better. And the more you do, the easier it gets.
Takes away many physical illnesses as well....real food for real bodies
And you knew too that it was REAL FOOD.
Yes exactly I couldn't have said it better myself
Only thing is most of the fresh foods are bs aswell 🤦🏽♂️🙄… whole lotta gmo bs out here
As someone who has worked in fast food, it's all up to how strict the managers are with health codes. I worked at a Little Caesar's where the general manager was a culinary school trained chef. I couldn't even get away with a 15 second hand washing without getting called out. I'm currently working at a Dairy Queen, however, where we have 14 year olds who leave wet rags out everywhere, keep the same cleaning water all day, don't rotate items so you end up with tons of old stock and no new stock, and the owners won't ever replace broken refrigerators that are several degrees over the maximum until the health inspectors threaten to shut the place down (while pretending they didn't know despite us keeping logs).
How is anyone surprised by any of this? Greedy franchisees hiring cheap labor, using mass produced ingredients, and people are just now figuring this out?
Kudos to the young people willing to risk their job because they care more about their fellow humans than they do about money.
Notice almost all of them are happen to have something in common.
This is why they don't like teens in these jobs anymore. They talk. While other workers don't...
@@MickeyMishra To be fair most are living with their parents and don't have bills to pay or kids to support, so it's a lot less to risk compared to an adult living paycheck to paycheck with rent and possibly a kid, however they got in that situation.
All i wanna say is they don't really care about us. 😮 these kids most of them will be ejected by the system and terminated as a homeless now work.
Yea they care, mostly about going viral! 😪
Seen a guy take a dump in a deep fryer once... The smell cleared out the drive thru all night, told customers the filters were bad
I remember working at McDs and our lettuce turned. It was slimy, smelly, and gross. The manager, son of that franchise owner, told us to serve it anyways. We threw it out when he disappeared on of his smoke breaks. He wrote up all three of us for product waste.
Don't doubt that at all.
That’s BS but good on you for doing the right thing
I hope karma lets him experience food poisoning at some point 🤦🏼♀️
I know 100% I could never make it in fast food restaurant for long, I'd quit on the spot if they want to serve rotten food
I'd serve it if the manager ate it themselves. If he doesn't want to eat it, why would the customers?

I stopped going tp McDo years ago due to poor food handling & the employees never wear food gloves what do they know about transmission of bacteria 🤮
I was seen mice running around fast food and roaches as well smh
I was a manager at McDonald's once upon a time. Yes the frap and ice cream machines get disgusting. This is why there are policies and procedures in place to clean them. If cleaned properly it takes a minimum of 3 hours to do. This is supposed to be done during the deep night or overnight shifts which is why at a good restaurant, fraps and ice cream aren't available after 10pm because the machine is offline and someone is cleaning it to SOP for health and safety. If you can order and get a frap or ice cream after 10pm, danger danger, they aren't cleaning the machines
Thank you 😮
I work at McDonalds and we stop serving those things at a certain time but them machines are not being cleaned I don't even eat there

Everyone struggling to overcome fast food cravings should watch this video. They'll never want fast food again.
Anything like this should be reported to OSHA or the health department.. Its the only way people will get to do it the right way. Anyone can get food poisoning.
As a former Mcdonalds employee, I am so glad to say that our kitchen was ran by the book and with exemplary morals. Mainly due to the fact that our families ate our food, that the local folks we knew, were our customers.
Anyone out there working in Fast food, just remember this question and ask it any time you have a quality concern; would you serve it to your own family members?
Exactly 👍🏻
Had the same mentality in aerospace when I worked as a machinist. My mentor would tell me, "any time you take a part off the machine you ask yourself would you put that part on a plane if your family was flying in it?" Sadly this mentality is gone. Management doesnt care who's making them, mistakes are made all the time all the employees have to do is show up clock in and dont ask questions.
Same here
@@KatiTheButcher I would send that part out if a distant inspector or re-builder needs to receive it. I might not know whether someone puts it on a plane along the way. Our mail service uses spare room in cargo holds of commuter aircraft. Maybe other delivery services do.
@@uncrunch398we did most of our inspections. Parts got checked multiple times prior to installation further on down the line and, in rare occaisions ended up on the aircraft (military in this instance). My point is, you don't take chances when other's lives are on the line period. I hope you aren't a machinist. Also, I wasnt machining cup holders :p.
I still remember when I was 16 and working at Burger King. I had been working the drive through cash register all day, so handing out change for hours. We had a huge rush come through and my manager yelled for me to get off the register and start making burgers immediately. I ran straight to the sink to wash my hands and to grab gloves, but she pulled my arm and said, "we don't have time for that! Hurry!" And she wouldn't let me grab gloves either. It was literally one time, but I still cannot shake it and I still feel guilty to this day over 20 years later. My dad passed away when I was younger from a common bug because his immune system was weak, and so I've always taken hand washing and gloves really seriously and wish I had had the guts to stand up to my manager back then. Now, I would NEVER let a manager tell me not to wash my hands or wear gloves even if the sky was falling. There's never a rush worth skimping on sanitary measures!
Don't feel guilty, you knew the right thing to do and quite likely feared for your job. Your heart is in the right place, so good on ya friend 🙏
your heart is in the right place. Bless you
Washing your hands is a must! 100%
but I believe you are not supposed to wear gloves if you handle raw meat,
You only wear gloves for handling ready made or cooked food
There is a huge problem nowadays with not speaking up in a work place. If a superior is wrong, they are wrong and employeess have a duty to say no.
@@musicfan07058 yeah we were supposed to wear gloves for putting the burgers and sandwiches together on the "assembly line" because we'd have to touch the buns and some of the toppings like cheese with our hands. We had tongs for some toppings and the meat, but not all. And for cooking raw meat that was different because of cross contamination.
I don't get how people are surprised by this
And here, the biggest thing I used to worry about from fast food joints, was the employees spitting on my burger....or worse.
I used to work as a cook at Buffalo Wild Wings. I didn’t listened to my managers and I tossed out food that was moldy. Sometimes they noticed and sometimes they didn’t. I would get lectured but not fired. I noticed that some of their containers were moldy so I had to wash them with bleach. It was more work for me to keep the items clean and cook like I’m cooking for my kids, but at least I knew no one was going to get sick from the food that came out of the kitchen. If you work as a cook and you see something you can definitely do something about it. I love to cook and take pride in that. I know that people don’t make much money but as a cook you should consider the golden rule.
Congratulations to you for doing your job properly, that should be the norm but unfortunately it is a minority of workers.
May God bless you
May God bless and reward you always for doing your part by looking out for the customers🙏
You are a rarity. Thank you so much for caring!
One time years ago I got so sick with food poisoning from Buffalo Wild Wings. I never went back.
I also worked at a McDonald's many years ago - I saw an employee preparing a 1/4 pounder for a drive-thru customer - the pattie fell on the mat that we have to stand on - the person making the sandwich picked it up and put it on the bun like it was nothing. I never let anyone fix my burger for me after that. And shortly thereafter, I quit that job.
Wow that crazy !!!
Same thing happened with me at one in Florida. I told my coworker off, threw the patty away and told her we don't do that around here. She was the only one I ever saw do something so disgusting. The main problem with our restaurant was the grease wasn't scraped off the the grill every time, so the burgers came out at least somewhat dry and gritty.
Did you let him serve it?
@@b64771 Standing by and doing nothing is almost as bad as committing the offence. If you put your job before the health and safety of your customers then you don't deserve a job.
@@EgoChip Is easy said than done. These are not high end restaurants, people hire in these fast food places work for low wages, often are school kids or those who need extra income. Guess which one they will put ahead of, their job or the health safety of the customer. If they get fired they just go work somewhere else. These things could only enforce by their employer with strict training and constant reminder, hire good people for the job. Otherwise it is up to luck you don't get bad food from them. Let's face it, the most dangerous ingredient to fast food is "Minimum Wage".
What about the employees who are wearing gloves while handling your money… and then handling your food with the SAME gloves 😱
Had to wear gloves while serving at Mile High stadium in Denver 30 years ago. Had hot dogs that were frozen, the green color was obvious when cooking. I threw one out in front of the manager, he blew up. I said "It's green!" he said "I't's fine." I said "You eat it!" End of discussion! We also handled money with the same gloves.
Many just simply need to be trained... I myself was unaware how bad it is to wear the same set of gloves (Even though I never had to) for different food items/etc if you made food in restaurants/etc. It was like, okay, you make food at home for guests and don't go through all that (Just make sure your hands are cleaned before starting, which is what you are taught) if food is not spoiled/etc then so long as you are not mixing condiments/etc with meat/etc, then it's all good. There may be the occasional exceptions, but, for the rest of us it is very easy to be ignorant of many things without the proper life experiences to help you make the proper judgements yourself on pretty much anything. Back in the little house on the prairie days (An excellent show BTW) then many things they would have called common sense would have to be taught to us, and visa a versa.

I'm a kitchen supervisor for McDonald's. Not all stores is like this. There are food and safety protocols that has to be met. When we open the products the food is inspected every time. If procedures are not followed then that is termination.
Believe it or not, each nugget is hand placed into the frying basket. Each patty is placed by hand, from production to the customer. We can't blame McDonald's because people are not following procedures.
Great video two thumbs up👍👍. I remember hearing on the radio from a food guru of restaurants. His statement was, doesn’t matter high-end restaurant, or low in restaurant never have the ICE. I can say that is so true. And don’t forget the ice machines at your local hotel.
I worked for a national uniform rental service years ago. I stopped eating in many fast food through 5 star restaurants after visiting the kitchens of many Pittsburgh restaurants every week to exchange uniforms and linens. What I saw going on in those kitchens was totally disgusting. I don't for the life of me understand how the county board of health could in good conscience give any of these places an A rating but they did on a regular basis.
They get an A because of corruption. Either they are told ahead of time when the inspection will be, or the inspector is a “buddy” and fudges the paperwork. Especially in smaller towns. From a former chef.
its called *shut up and look the other way money* (bribes)
Because, as LBJ once said: "The business of America is business." This is why I prefer to cook my own food.
Money money money money.......money. An old song.

I think accountability is fantastic. Maybe fast food companies will stop cutting corners...
I feel like there is a sandwich joke somewhere here but I can't be bothered
Oof. It’s unfortunately most food companies. If you think places like Chilis or Panera were safer, I got some bad news…
For companies its not accountability, but how much they can get away with before it really starts cutting into their profits. They don't care about a couple of million dollars lawsuits or fine, cause it will cost them more alternatively. Unfotunate reality of fast processed, souless, addictive food. Think about it, how many people after watching this would swear off Mc donalds, KFC etc completely? These companies know...people always come back
@@NovelVampire I swore them off long ago. In the past 6 months I have literally been to McDonalds one time and that was when someone bought me fries on a road trip...and they were nasty. I worked in too many kitchens to not understand what it means when you watch the employee wipe their nose while packing your bag.
Unintentional Wendy’s reference?
I worked at McDonald's for 2 years. Everything was about keeping the drive-thru moving as quickly as possible because it was timed. One time the orange juice machine ran out in the middle of making the customer's juice, but instead of taking a few min to refill it, my boss poured the leftover juice from the drip tray into the cup to make it full. I almost threw up🤢
What a shame, their greed and carelessness for their customers , the truth is coming out
I was a pest control professional servicing fast food restaurants, never ever eat at any of them if you value your health. Prepare and eat your food at home.
Word son
This stuff isn't food - it's toxic ballast. Best way to avoid all the horrors described in this video: just don't eat any of it.
Wow thank you for that term. I'd never heard it before.
Hi, I know there's Google,
but do u know if bioluminescence in humans is a natural occurance or is it caused, by the toxic ballast or other toxins, Or are the two, even related at all?
I am surely trying to read up on it, but tbh science isn't my strong point & some of it is a bit confusing lol So while reading this stuff, I figured it was worth a shot to ask 😊
I'm done eating this poison. I recently ordered a whopper meal with large drink. Almost cost me $14 bucks and I got food poisoning.
Yes, A perfect description of that tripe
@@brettwilson3859 Thats why I call McD's and BK's ANALBURGERS because they affect that region.
Symptoms of food poisoning fever cramps vomiting diarrhea if you have any of those I suggest you get to a hospital immediately and file a lawsuit against that restaurant that you ate at
God bless those who spoke up. We are very proud of you. Thank you. Save your life....Cook at HOME!
If you're eating fast food, you should be more worried about the ingredients they purposefully put in the food than the stuff that accidentally makes it in the food.
@@Aleuse There are clips showing how long it takes for McDonalds food to spoil. The burgers take quite a few days.
You nailed it Speedy!
Well said
would honestly suprise me if its even actual meat anymore
Absolutely true!
I am 64 years old can honestly and proudly say that I have never eaten ANY food from McDonald's.
Very good❤. Greetings from the Netherlands
Top human. That happened to me once.
Ever ? Even as a kid I’m 65 , it wasn’t tainted then didn’t your family eat out while shopping? I wouldn’t touch it with a ten ft pole .
I have eaten once, a lunch take-out because I had to do overtime at work. Later in the evening I had a bad diarrhoea, but fortunately some home remedies worked, and settled after suffering a sleepless night.
Good for you health warrior!
that's crazy but not surprising. Good video
If you've ever watched Kitchen Nightmares, you'll find that even some of the most "gourmet" restaurants in the world can have absolutely repulsive practices. Watching Gordon Ramsey throw up is a pretty interesting sight.
I've worked at fast food restaurants and 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ restaurants all my life and agree with you 💯 percent. In my 30 years experience I've concluded that its all about the money and nothing more.🍔🍟
It doesn't matter where you get the food. Grocery stores have these issues too, so basically, we have to check our food no matter where you buy it.
If they don’t start prioritizing quality, everything will collapse.
It doesn't matter if you call health inspectors, they will say everything is fine..
I was at a local McD’s on a busy day. As I pulled to the window, I heard the shift manager yell at the server, “I don’t care if they’re right! Get them out the window, if they don’t like what they get, they can bring it back!”
McDonald’s has become the epitome of what fast food shouldn’t be . . .
Like all fast foods, which is why I had to work on adapting to a habit of home cooking. Better safe than sorry.
I ordered a Mc Double one time, and it was SMASHED, like someone ran over it with a truck.
fast food in general shouldn't even exist. People supporting it by eating that garbage are all suffering various ailments they wouldn't suffer if they just cooked for themselves. Even high end restaurants will get you sick due to all the additives in their highly processed garbage if you eat it more than once or twice a month.
It's ALL about the Almighty Dollar $$$ these days, in everything, health care, food, you name it!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't eaten in any of those places in years! I've learned more horrific things found in fast foods and can't believe people still line up to eat it! I'm so grateful!
Seriously! And the parents feeding this garbage to their kids think the problem is the restaurant.
I agree 100% with you!! Was making Rice Pudding, and found a worm in the rice. Now there is no more supervision, it's a don't care attitude.
I remember suing The Home Depot because the 2x4 wasn't a real 2x4. I lost.
You're better off eating as restaurants than Fast Food Restaurants because the meals in Fast Food are more expensive now!
As a previous assistant saint manager of a sonic, i made sure to keep things as clean as I would want it. Checked bread every morning, clean machines every other day, soda nozzles were cleaned every night, was busy enough to never have spoiled food. I just wish the employers would pay more and select better workers.
I ask (expect) very little of other people,
but I demand hair nets, gloves, food safety, sanitization and temps checked on all food before leaving the kitchen.
There's no excuse I will accept.
If you can't do it, I will & stay outta the kitchen.
Imagine nurses neglecting and abusing people because "I want one more dollar an hour, THEN I'll stop abusing them😌" it's weird and illogical
Every restaurant I work, or manage, I make sure things are cleaned. Like a sub shop, where both soda machines nozzles were bleached everyday I worked. Or at Pizza Hut, I kept a bottle of IPA to wipe the phones off everyday, because my drivers wouldn't take their gloves off to answer the phones. And I had to remind them to wash their hands after dropping wings. It's so simple, but can easily be overlooked.
It really is the "pay more" part.
A respectabele wage to keep financial worries at bay and employee happy, to work happy. It will show, i really believe that.
Managers too, we need managers who care. When you're forced to sell cookies on Monday that were made Friday cause he doesn't feel like telling someone to make them and throw the old ones away.
I can honestly say the mc donalds i worked, We were OCD about cleaning EVERYTHING. when I started working at my mc Donald, and i went to serve a sundae, lifted the cover to the chocolate, and YES, i saw mold. I was APPALLED. Quickly, the manager took the container and washed it. I started to find all kinds of uglies in the store. As a sixty-six year old woman, i was cleaning everything. Next thing you know, my manager started to get paranoid, so we started to clean everything. So cleaning became a weekly thing. I believe the manager got scared of me, scared i would tell on her. That was the farthest thing from my mind, i ate there, i wanted to know my food was properly cooked, and from a clean container. That manager made sure i was always a happy worker. If you catch my drift.
Thank you for your service. ❤
I assume it's not an actual OCD and the misuse of the word might upset people online. But otherwise a great story to be shared! It's a nice thing to know certain restaurants are still keeping their kitchen clean.
@@Astrawboy_NameAlreadyInUse I stand corrected, I was COMPULSIVE about keeping things clean WHEN I worked there. I have had food poisoning before from restaurants, I also have to know how my food is cooked and by whom. That's prolly why I don't go out to eat anymore. It's unfortunate, I don't trust people anymore with my food.
That's not OCD. Search.@@donnatorres7932

Everyone always argues “it’s cost effective.” it really isn’t. It’s simply desire for junk food and laziness
Minimum wage? They’re getting paid $15.00 an Hour! I’m not paying $15.00 for a Big Mac Meal. Reason why I don’t eat fast food anymore.
All employees have to do is call health department and report. You don’t need to give them any information about who you are and you will not lose your job!!
Now you just hope that these agencies do their jobs ....
Who wants to continue working for a restaurant serving toxic food?
Caught my boss fingering a Chicken sanny once... Asked her what she was doing, she just looked at me and hacked a luggie in the deep fryer, never breaking eye contact
Yea but your best friend or relatives can get hold of this stuff. Yes you find new work-you don't want to be a culprit do you?
LOL shows how little you know..
the scary thing about the Subway situation with the mouse, is that these ingredients, including the spinachs, all come "prepared" for use. Employees just put them inside of a container and serve it. It comes spoiled from the suppliers, which means that there are more companies involved in these food hazard situation.
I worked for awhile at Taco Bell corporate on food prep manuals. All of their food comes prepared in bags and containers. The employees basically just heat it and assemble it. The suppliers need to keep up their standards also. Those expired bags of meat must not have been frozen. I think they need to keep the meat frozen until right before use, which is actually a good practice.
@@ttscrafts6765 If some fast food restaurants just heat food then why don't people just buy and heat the packaged foods themselves?
Yeah, but it's still on the cooks to inspect, clean, and make the food safe.
Someone brought a salad bag and found a frog in it.
Bad food is terrible but preparing massive amounts of food causes these accidents. The FDA allows some contaminants because of that. I think the FDA allow some traces of rats and bugs too. People shouldn't depend on restaurants and stores too much.
I was a huge Subway fan until I got an olive pip in my sub. Had to get my tooth removed. Messaged them on Twitter and they never replied.
I found a Bic pen in my sandwich wrap 😂
There are some instances where some meat at McDonalds is in the heated cabinet to long and still served. All the employees do is reset the timer and not through it out to keep the waste cost down. It happens a lot around closing time or in the overnight hours if they are open 24 hours. I worked for McDonald's for many years.
I’ve sold restaurants. After walking the kitchens, I’m glad I never ate there.
Im glad some employees have the balls to speak up! Thank you!
I can tell you from experience that at some places if an employee tries to do the job right they get ridiculed and told they are taking too much time. In other words taking pride in your job is often frowned on by managers or supervisors.
Yes!
True
Sad. No thought on how it will affect their business down the road.
I was told to do something to save money but I refused. I told the supervisor that if I wouldn’t eat it, I’m not going to feed it to someone else.
Experts have said for years that you should not eat take away food, but people still do!
This is so gross! If these chains have this going on on a regular basis they just need to be shut down! It clearly looks like these are not isolated incidents!
I worked in a McD's a long time ago, and every time I went downstairs to the storage and turned on the lights, about 500 roaches would take off running. In the packs of buns, mice would chew through the bags, and sometimes, you would see half eaten buns and rat droppings inside. The manager would instruct us to just throw away the bad buns and use the rest. It was really disgusting what the public can't see.
Aaaaaand my appetite’s gone. Yikes.
You should see the places where they manufacture food. I don't think it's news when I say animals and insects are attracted to goods that we consume. 🫢 Crazy, right?
Also, your manager was the problem in the situation you provided. Not the chain itself nor the other employees. Manager was probably taking money and needed to "cover costs." No decent manager would instruct employees to do such a thing.
Would you prefer cats getting the mice and rats? They need a litter box. It would work but cats aren't allowed 😒. So mice and rats win.
You could have and should have reported them to the health department fast, quick and immediate!
Be careful of roaches hiding in Amazon boxes too - happened to me twice now
This is the Burger King foot lettuce incident all over again.
Someone call Chills to narrate this
or chipotle and the rats
or when there were rats climbing into ppls bags and ppl dropping vapes in mcdonalds food 💀

And people wonder why I refuse to eat from any fast food restaurant.
Those bosses who fire people for exposing their frankly evil practices need to spend serious time in prison. If that's not a criminal offence then I don't know what is.

Raw food is 100% staff fault, you can't change my mind. I worked at a kfc as a student for 4 months. My chicken was ALWAYS cooked to perfection. My colleagues sometimes threw chicken that fell om the floor in and you couldn't do anything because "they were there longer" so that automatically means they are more trustworthy.. as bad as managers are so are some employees
Nah. Everything is automated. If fryers aren't working properly, and they aren't being inspected regularly enough, there's no way for an employee to know. They are trained to push a button and push it again when the automated timer goes off.
@Micahnanners not where I worked, the only buttons you could push are the ones to drain the oil and clean the fryer, that's it. You place the chicken into the basket and lower it yourself. There is 0 room for automatic errors because the fryers are really simple.
@@xtwinkies2128 again, that's if they are working properly.
@@micahnanners idk how kfc operate anywhere else but ours had maintenance twice a month and that's a law to do so, so we never had issues. Undercooking was always the fault of the employee
Absolutely! 175° at worst in every chicken you cook!
“Budget friendly?” Best joke of the year.
I quit 20 years ago so they can't touch me, but McDonald's made us reset the meat tray timers when they ran out after the 2 hour food safety limit. We would be fired if we threw it away and made fresh. Not all fast food has such low standards for their restaurant, but I can attest to that one.
I worked at a mcdonalds in pennsylvania that was just as gross as they say. Dirty and moldy machines, uncleaned utensils, and old food.
For instance, i was doing dishes once and i decided to take apart the utensil used to cut the lemons.
Yall, it had black mold on the inside. I told my manager and she responded with, "you're not supposed to take that apart".
It was only when i pointed out the mold that she agreed with me. So if they can't see it, they won't clean it. Even inspections are sub-par and grossly negligent. Be safe and maybe dont eat at mcdonalds y'all.
P.s. No, i DO NOT care about anonymity. If anything i want them to know im talking about it because its disgusting and negligent as a business practice.
