I think that they could bring some retro courses from DS, Wii or even 7, because they deserve a second chance and they're fan favorites (Mushroom Bridge, Frappe snowland, Banshee Boardwalk, Delfino Square, Airship Fortress, Luigi's Mansion, Dino Dino Jungle, Koopa Troopa Beach come to mind)
I even have the tracks listed up as well. You should also do one for the battle tracks. With counting the race tracks from Tour that haven't returned are: Piranha Plant Pipeline, and all 10 of the RMX tracks. Thus another 11 have been missed.
I used to think Nintendo completely works by these patterns to, but then they added SNES Rainbow Road to Mario Kart 8 and 3 Fire Emblem Characters to Smash 4. If Nintendo wants to do something bad enough, especially if they think it will surprise us in a good way (emphasis on think) then they'll do it. Not to say you're completely wrong on what you said about the Bowser's Castles and Rainbow Roads, I kinda agree with you on what you said, but you never know, Nintendo does like their surprise factor. Great vid btw! I was thinking of looking into this topic myself when I saw the thumbnail! Thanks a bunch!
I don’t get some of the classifications here. You say blue courses are supposed to be courses that were put in Tour first before being put into the BCP, yet certain Retro courses like Shroom Ridge and Snow Land debuted in the BCP first. And I know you’re at least aware of this, because you talk about how Shroom Ridge is deserving of another chance, but not Snow Land, even though they both suffered the same symptom of being surprise additions to the BCP before eventually making it into Tour. Just a really weird inconsistency that put me off from some of your opinions, since personally I’m fine with future MK devs double-dipping into courses that may have already been brought back in DS or Wii for the next Mario Kart if they have to, because it’s been a while since anyone has played on any of those courses. Also, yeah I guess we’re apparently just not counting BCP exclusive remakes except for when you feel like it (You’re happy with SNES BC3, Snow Land, Waluigi Stadium, Kalimari Desert, basically every BCP exclusive Remake pre-DS (somehow also including Sunset Wilds), but you wanna chew out Shroom Ridge, DK Summit, Moonview Highway, Wii’s & 7’s Rainbow Roads even though they’re some of the most beloved tracks in the BCP. Please explain the logic to me there kind sir). Yeah, Maybe think through your Retro track analysis a little more next time, pal. ‘Cuz this just ain’t it, Chief.
Yeah I realized that inconsistency super late into the editing process, and it would’ve been a pain to go back and make changes to the script + narration that deep into it. Besides that, my opinions concerning Blue Highlights (Tour and/or BCP courses) deserving a second chance remains the same regardless of when those courses first appeared. I know I should’ve done better research going it. The thing is - BCP courses appearing in MK8 first, then going over to Tour… its equivalent to what Blue Highlights are, I just screwed up on when they were added first and assumed wrong. I don’t dislike/hate those tracks you listed in the last paragraph, I just hope (keyword hope) they do by some stroke of luck come back in the future because they have the opportunity to look and play better than their BCP/Tour-equivalents. Hope this clears up any confusion, and thanks for the feedback!

The red color should’ve been split up into BCP and non BCP. I agree that courses like Choco mountain and coconut mall won’t be returning. But the ones which were in tour and weren’t in the BCP, such as GBA Peach/Luigi Circuit, N64 Frappe Snowland, GCN Mushroom Bridge, etc. have a chance.
Also, unfortunately I don’t think the newly remade retros from the BCP (shroom ridge, toad circuit, etc) will be remade in MK9 so they shouldn’t be in contention
I feel like we are at a point where they should give the Retro Tracks from Mario Kart DS another chance to really shine - its been about 20 years once the next MK comes out after all. A proper remake of GBA Luigi Circuit or N64 Banshee Boardwalk (my brain still tries to call it Boowalk sometimes lmao) would really be nice and both tracks in HD could work really well, especially Banshee Boardwalk if they keep the underwater stuff (like GBA Boo Lake). Otherwise...yeah Wii Toads Factory is a lock if they stay with the current formular for sure and N64 Wario Stadium too (though I would rather see Wario Colosseum or Shipyard from the remaining Wario tracks first but oh well..)
I'll be the devil's advocate for why they brought back Wii and 3DS Rainbow Road in the BCP. If we follow the pattern set by Mk7 and 8, then the last two RR's to get remade would've been Wii and 3DS. The time between Mario Kart games have been growing, so was likely the only chance of either of them returning for a long time. That being said RIP Ds Rainbow Road, the awkward middle child.
I don't think that any of the courses (other than the non-city Tour nitros) featured in the Booster Course Pass will return in the next Mario Kart. Also don't forget Pirahna Plant Pipeline. It's the only Tour nitro that didn't get remade for the BCP.
Yeah Pirahna Plant Pipeline is legit the one exception I never included, and it’s such a weird one. I’m assuming if they do bring it back, they’ll just classify it is a Nitro because if zero Tour tracks return (as retros) then it’d be strange to see literally one Tour track return with the subfix.
Outside of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, including the Booster Pass, the remaining courses are: Super Mario Kart: Mario Circuit 1 Donut Plains 1 Ghost Valley 1 Bowser Castle 1 Mario Circuit 2 Choco Island 1 Ghost Valley 2 Donut Plains 2 Bowser Castle 2 Koopa Beach 1 Choco Island 2 Vanilla Lake 1 Mario Circuit 4 Koopa Beach 2 Ghost Valley 3 Vanilla Lake 2 Mario Kart 64: Luigi Raceway Moo Moo Farm Koopa Troopa Beach Frappe Snowland Mario Raceway Wario Stadium Sherbet Land Bowser's Castle DK Jungle Parkway Banshee Boardwalk Mario Kart: Super Circuit: Peach Circuit Shy Guy Beach Bowser Castle 1 Bowser Castle 2 Luigi Circuit Cheep Cheep Island Yoshi Desert Bowser Castle 3 Lakeside Park Broken Pier Bowser Castle 4 Rainbow Road Mario Kart: Double Dash: Luigi Circuit Peach Beach Mushroom Bridge Mario Circuit Mushroom City Wario Colosseum Dino Dino Jungle Bowser's Castle Rainbow Road Mario Kart DS: Figure 8 Circuit Yoshi Falls Luigi's Mansion Desert Hills Delfino Square DK Pass Airship Fortress Bowser's Castle Rainbow Road Mario Kart Wii: Luigi Circuit Toad's Factory Mario Circuit Dry Dry Ruins Bowser's Castle Mario Kart 7: Daisy Hills Cheep Cheep Lagoon Shy Guy Bazaar Wuhu Loop Mario Circuit Wario's Shipyard Maka Wuhu Bowser's Castle Mario Kart Tour: Piranha Plant Slide And of course, every track from the arcade games.
The one that needs to return the most is toads factory. Personally I think track is one of the best of Mario kart Wii and it’s a shame it never saw the light of day beyond it.
The reason why 3DS and wii rainbow road were brought back is because they were in tour. Also remember that every course in the BCP is from tour, so courses like GCN mushroom city were never gonna be brought back in the first place. Also your point with the Wii courses don’t make any sense. Sure some of these courses don’t look amazing but remember a lot of the wii courses were brought back in the later waves, which is the time where Nintendo actually started making changes to the returning courses rather than just porting them directly from tour.
So, imma send my predicts right here. Before that I explain 1 perticular thing, being that I wont include tracks from WiiU/NS in it. The Reason why I wont include these is simple, they are already perfect in the way they are and I dont see any point from them to be changed in a new way. I mean they are already in a perfect graphical stand, unlike other courses from previous gens wich lack of up to date graphics. Including WiiU/NS tracks would therefore be very filler. Also I will include Retro Tracks, that were already remaked. Since the BCP had the chance to finish of the entirety of MK with remaking every retro track and didnt, because of including tracks that were already remaked.
