It’s pretty interesting to see that the Star Cup’s are considered by most people as the best or close cup in each game, definitely saw that the best was in Star Cup in the latter half in the series. And just so you know, yeah I’m all for Wii’s Star Cup
Fun Fact: Of the 16 retro tracks that has made it into the Lighting Cup since it returned as the final Retro Cup in the Retro Grain Prix: 9 were from Various Star Cups 5 were from Various Special Cups 1 was from the GBA Lightning Cup* & 1 was from the SNES Flower Cup. *Lightning Cup made it's debut as a Nitro Cup in the Nitro Grand Prix in Super Circuit, before returning as the final Retro Cup in the Retro Grain Prix; this is the only time a cup has switched from 1 type of Grand Prix to another.
It’s cause they aren’t stuck with bowers castle and rainbow road so they get 4 original ideas and they don’t require easy tracks like the mushroom and Star cups
This concept was pretty interesting to watch seeing how another individual’s track values stack up. The “math” though, is obviously going to weigh on preference almost entirely, so this video is more of a “for fun” averaging exercise than a concrete list that would need a few more factors considered, (such as how the course position is relayed in each cup or how the collection of courses work together to provide a good mix of gameplay diversity as examples) but what mattered most was that the video and commentary were still entertaining. I would have to say my personal favorite cup in the entire Mario Kart series is the All Cup Tour from Mario Kart Double Dash!!. Is it fair to even include it? Nah, but it IS a grand prix cup, and I have a soft spot for this one off inclusion. The fun already begins when choosing your favorite character and kart combo you’ve discovered to stick with to the end of the ultimate race. I love how it starts with Luigi’s Circuit and it always ends on Rainbow Road, which are personally two of my high picks in the series. Every course in between is unpredictably randomized, and it’s just fun counting down the stages, guessing which track the game could throw at you next, and tally your points into the hundreds. It’s honestly pretty fun when my own less experienced or more difficult tracks get queued, like Sherbet Land or Wario’s Colosseum as my own examples. You know they’ll show up every time, but when they do, it just fills me up with an exciting “Aww sh*t. Here we go again…” energy to try and handle the situation. It actually turned some of my once least preferred to play courses into my top favorites, like Dino Dino Jungle, Rainbow Road and -I don’t even know how it won me over- Wario Colosseum. It’s not perfect though. Playing the tour on 50cc or even 100cc makes each race take a much longer time that it needs, with minimal actual challenge from your competition. Getting two similar themed stages in a row can be a little disappointing too. And to be honest, I usually just slap either Petey Piranha or King Boo as a default character on the team for the added item pool diversity for dealing with sixteen consecutive races, but I wouldn’t lie in saying that if I could only choose one prix cup to ever play again (as in, the way how it is intended), either 150cc or Mirror All Cup Tour has just gotta be the only answer from me. It has to be my most replayed cup in the entire series purely for a fun time. - Noah
Every time I watch a Mario kart ranking video on UA-cam I’m reminded that I’m probably the only person on the planet that just absolutely despises mk8’s twisted mansion. It’s my least favorite track in the game, and easily lands a spot in the bottom 20 tracks of all time for me.
MKWii’s Flower Cup is so amazing. You praised Waluigi Stadium for utilizing the trick mechanic to make it fun, yet you don’t give the same praise to DK Summit. And for some reason, you think Wario’s Gold Mine is slightly above average (105/216), even though it has so much personality and atmosphere.

Wow. Talk about putting it into perspective. I gotta hand it to ya, Jamie. You've done your homework. I'm not saying this is anything remotely close to my rankings of all the tracks, but I'm not saying it isn't. Honestly, I don't know if I'm gonna find out anytime soon. This is just... You have got to be the first person on UA-cam to do this.
Great video! It's nice to see how the average of every cup's tracks delivers a completely new result. I'd never expect to see Mario Kart 7's Star Cup on the first place. It was a quite enjoyable cup and I like how you ranked Wario's Galleon 10th overall, but I guess I would never choose this cup to be one of my favorites without mathematical arguments. :D Would be interesting to know if your feeling about this ranking matches with the maths or were you surprised yourself?
Personally mine would probs have to be special cup wii (I am not biased to wii I just think the physics engine makes the tracks so much more fun, especially Bowser's Castle and Rainbow Road, my favourite renditions of their respective names)

Well Best MK8 Cup, 2nd Best Cup Overall, & Best Retro Cup is good enough for me lol
(Edit was to add the "Best Retro Cup" statement because that somehow missed me when I originally commented this reply lol)
Fusion Cyborg cool.👍
Yeah sunshine airport and mount wario are my favorite mario kart tracks ever
The Star cup is always my favorite, Wii and 8.
Same bro same
Love how my 2nd favorite track ever is the thing that pulls the crossing cup down
Where?
What?
it made me pissed when he said ww helled back that cup. ww is amazing imo
Wild Woods is literally my favorite track in 8 and one of my favorites in the whole series
I agree
33:57: "piranha plant pipeway is shockingly the first track to be based on the underground"
Wario's Gold Mine: am I A joKE To yOu
Then why can I see a sunset in Wario’s Gold Mine
@@zaneheaston8254 because you didn’t go underground yet or already
I think he meant it's the first track to be based on the underground levels in the 2D Super Mario games
@@Brebgon Yeah.
Honestly it's surprising how infrequently MK's racetracks directly reference the main games. SMK was based directly on SMW, but after that they kinda just did whatever. You'd get the occasional track that is a massive reference, like Airship Fortress or Piranha Plant Slide, but it's not that common.
@@k-leb4671 Tbh I think that's better. More new themes in the nitros and makes it more thrilling when a new track does reference past games. If it happened so much more it would just lose that feel.
MK8 Star/Lightning Cup are near damn perfect.
Same with the Bell Cup. In fact, that's the greatest cup in the series
I wonder how the DLC Cups will fit into this when they all come out
I think he’ll give it his own separate list
21:36 I saw DK's Snowboard cross, Melody motorway, Alpine pass and I realised that that was the UK version (It's DK Summit, Rock Rock Mountain, Music park!)
Music park is Melody motorway
Hold on, Jamie said "Just across the pond" as a reference to the US, you should have caught that.
Alpine Pass is a way cooler name than Rock Rock Mountain
It’s amazing the motivation you had for this video. 35 minutes of ranking!
Although I was really raging when you mentioned some tracks were bad I remained through the end and I am not disappointed!

It’s pretty interesting to see that the Star Cup’s are considered by most people as the best or close cup in each game, definitely saw that the best was in Star Cup in the latter half in the series.
And just so you know, yeah I’m all for Wii’s Star Cup
Fun Fact: Of the 16 retro tracks that has made it into the Lighting Cup since it returned as the final Retro Cup in the Retro Grain Prix:
9 were from Various Star Cups
5 were from Various Special Cups
1 was from the GBA Lightning Cup*
& 1 was from the SNES Flower Cup.
@@mikeywebb9598 I guess that makes sense, though Bowser Castle’s and Rainbow Road’s are usually pretty good
@@The_Holy_Wooomy they are, but thats 2 courses with predetermined themes

Wow! Did not expect a Mario Kart 7 cup to be number one! I'm pretty happy though since I feel as Mario Kart 7 is pretty underated.
Mario kart 9 Ultimate Cup:
Intro track: Mk8 Cloudtop cruise
Second track: Ds Tick Tock clock
Third track: Gba Ribbon Road
Fourth track : Wii Coconut mall
Middle track: Gcn Baby Park
Sixth track: Mk8 Big Blue
Seventh track: Mk7 Music park
Eight track: Ds Waluigi Pinball
Ninth: Wii Grumble volcano
Final track: Mk7 Rainbow road
Nearly a perfect lineup 👌
That moment when Super Bell Subway is my favorite mario kart course of all time and it’s the reason Bell cup isn’t in 1st place 😔
I feel you
Am I the only one who finds some of the simpler tracks fun and the gameplay can be really fun and exciting?
14:40 Waluigi Pinball is a good track, but it could’ve done more with the whole pinball idea.
It's the most overrated track in history imo but it's still great
It's a goated track, maybe we need a Waluigi Pinball 2
I love the track but its not number 1... I think people bumm Waluigi more than they realise
- Noah
SNES Rainbow Road: [Ranks High In All Carnations]
Me: So you have chosen, death?
@Jason Kott It is
SNES Rainbow Road is decent in both Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 7.
SNES Rainbow Road is lame in Mario Kart 8 (Deluxe).
@Jason Kott It is...
...but only in Mario Kart 8 (Deluxe)
Kudos on putting all the Double Dash cups in the top 25. That was easily my favorite Mario Kart game.
DD has most of the memorable tracks except Sherbet Land which sucks
9:20 Luigi, you will be missed
Yeah i clocked that! 🤣 Classic cpu
Every time I watch a Mario kart ranking video on UA-cam I’m reminded that I’m probably the only person on the planet that just absolutely despises mk8’s twisted mansion. It’s my least favorite track in the game, and easily lands a spot in the bottom 20 tracks of all time for me.
*“Merao Kart”*
MKWii’s Flower Cup is so amazing. You praised Waluigi Stadium for utilizing the trick mechanic to make it fun, yet you don’t give the same praise to DK Summit. And for some reason, you think Wario’s Gold Mine is slightly above average (105/216), even though it has so much personality and atmosphere.
Agree entirely with your #1 pick. I love Mario Kart 7 and it had so many great courses
I had completely forgotten how much I loved 3ds Star Cup until now
I really like MK8's star cup. Sunshine Airport, Mount Wario, and Electodrome (my favourite nitro track in MK8) are all top 30 for me.
electrodrome is my favourite MK track of all time
Solid list. I really appreciate the effort that went into this.
my favorite cup is the flower cup from the ds wich include: desert hills, delfino square, waluigi pinballmachine and mushroom ridge.
Shroom ridge is definitley underrated !
1:19 was really thirsty without knowledge, thx for the info haha
Fun fact: neo bowser city in the german version its called coopas big city fever
I’m just happy that the cups with Piranha Plant Pipeway got on the high spots!
despite mk7 having the worst roster ever, it does have some bangers of tracks. Somehow their retro tracks aren't as boring
You should rank every track/cup in the booster course pass once it's finished
I never understood the love for that music track
I can't trust a man who doesn't think yoshi falls isn't one of the worst courses in the series
Or a man with Baby Park rated at 17
how you don’t have 500k+ subs is beyond me. your content is original, the quality of it is supreme, you come across as a nice guy, all whilst getting some puns in your videos and being extremely professional. keep up the good work man!!
This comment made my day. Thanks!
jamiethepayne commenting at 8am on a Sunday? I rate the work ethic😂
It was extremely professional. I thought he would have several hundred thousand subs at least. I hadn't paid any attention to it until I saw this comment bc I just assumed that content this well made came only from people with many more subs, I am glad to see I was wrong.
He deserves at least 100k, he has great videos but doesn't get the attention he deserves
@@notyepper Agreed.
“What delightful tracks have we got this time” is so passive aggressive I love it

By the top 5 spot, I'd think 7 would take the cake. Love 7 a lot!
26:56 Rock Rock Mountain Sounds More Like a Mario Kart Track Name So I Will Pick That
Anyone else get Rick rolled by an ad at the start of the video? But anyways Mario kart 8 deluxe is the best Nintendo game ever.
10:11 ''The star of the show is Cheese Land.''
*Gets a Star from the item box*
I see what you did there.
30:39 i think seven will take the number 1 spot. I knew it because I have seen the best 145 an best 71 tracks like ten times
Triforce cup you fought hard but couldn’t quite pull it off, I’m not complaining though
Ds, Wii, and 7 are the best games in my opinion, and it seems they all hold up to and surpass modern Mario Kart track standards.
Would be interesting to know if your feeling about this ranking matches with the maths or were you surprised yourself?
In my opinion the lightning cup has never failed in any game it's been in. Always has great retro picks
DS' lightning cup was a little weak compared to most cause of the selection but yeah I agree, the lightning cups are always fun and memorable.
As a person who grew up with MK7, it makes my heart happy to see it do so well.
GCN Dry Dry Desert blew the original out of the water
how?
by adding Water
literally best thing i ever heard
Why is Double Dash's Star Cup so low? It has some of the best tracks in the game imo.
Sherbet Land isn’t fun to play on
MK7s retro cups are the best in the series. Luigis mansion? Coconut mall? Maple treeway? Daisy cruiser! Yes please!
Personally mine would probs have to be special cup wii (I am not biased to wii I just think the physics engine makes the tracks so much more fun, especially Bowser's Castle and Rainbow Road, my favourite renditions of their respective names)
I agree that is such an amazing cup
How TF did you dislike Wario Colosseum?
Mario Kart Wii's special cup is easily my favorite cup ever. It's the only cup with 4 tracks I love

@@lordroy88 I can't remember the tracks for that one. I don't play MK8 enough

Mario Kart 64: Special Cup
Mario Kart Super Circuit: Lightning Cup
Mario Kart Double Dash: Special Cup
Mario Kart DS: Special Cup
Mario Kart Wii: Special Cup
Mario Kart 7: Star Cup

(In My Opinion.) The Best Cup is the Wii U / Switch Lightning Cup.
DS Tick-Tock Clock (3)
3DS Piranha Plant Slide (7)
Wii Grumble Volcano (8)
N64 Rainbow Road (1)
(3+7+8+1)/4 = 4.75
TTC and N64 RR kinda suck lmao
I’ve learnt something, if a cup has piranha plant pipeway, it’s automatically good
I'll do Top 37 cups (not including retro) with your system. For DLC, I'll judge them from the NITRO tracks, so the Retro won't include.
