In a certain way, Reeves' Batman is kind of a more refined version of Aronofsky's

I personally really enjoyed the Year One script and wished it was made. It basically was like if you put together Joker's gritty realism tone, inspired by gritty 70s movies, would've been R rated, and Joaquin Phoenix was the director's casting choice. And The Batman's homemade suit, a muscle car, a Batcave that was an abandoned subway station, a ring from his father and and a Bruce Wayne who grows to become a traditional Bruce Wayne at the end. (I don't even think Reeves's Bruce didn't even travel around the world to become Batman.) And those two movies changed a lot from the comics and were very good, and the script has gained more respect by new people discovering probably because of those two movies. But WB tried to interfere like making the Batmobile look more toy like wanting Freddie Prince Jr. as Batman. While I am proud we have the Nolan trilogy, I am very heartbroken this didn't get made.

I actually really would have wanted Aronofsky’s Batman. Wouldve been so cool. Ironic how this hyper realistic r-rated gritty comic book movie that strays away from the source material and stands on its own two feet with the apparent Taxi Driver overtones basically became the Joker movie😂

I think a monstrous Spider-Man could be very interesting, IF it were an alternate universe, like what if on Earth 69420 or whatever, when he was bitten, he became far more spider than man? What if he couldn't have any semblance of a normal life? (Have him keep his mind/humanity) and have him still never kill anyone, so he refuses to become a true monster, have him use fear tactics on criminals kinda like Batman. I just think there is a lot of angst potential. But I do think he would absolutely need a friend to keep him from going insane.

I feel like Aronofsky’s would have been a cool idea. While it might feel like too much for some I think it would be a good interpretation for film or tv.
I could see it as Bruce Wayne being “reduced” to a local celebrity, he lives in a impoverished area of Gotham but everyone knows of the former Wayne enterprises.
I could see the bat-cave being an abandoned property or something(someone mentioned an abandoned subway station, TMNT vibes) but I was thinking almost like an abandoned basement to an apartment or town house.
Building off of this, I like the Homebrew-Mcguyver-DIY aspect of such a Batman. He isn’t like some dude who has access to the world but a resourceful and inventive.
His bat-cave would be like a home brew laboratory/work desk. It would be were he crafts and prepares his activities. Following that notion the bat computer would be a McGuyver of all kinds of various computer and technology parts.
In this setting Batman like in the reeves film would have a stronger emphasis on detective work. He would use the resources within his batcave for his detective work like complying and analyzing evidence.

Unfortunately, this will never happen. First you would have acquire rights from either artist family or personal property and then you would have to transfer their identity to film. And realize that you. Might have to make excuses for the changes or adaptation for Hollywood.

I also would have loved to see Batman: Year One! Oh my god, what a great concept! The Batman’s cool and all, but like you said, it isn’t nearly as unique as this take would have been. Which, if you think about it, that means this movie may eventually get made. If the director pitches it again in maybe a decade or so, after The Batman movies have run their course, the studio execs may be ready for this new take. Who knows.

Marvel comics basically became a hit compared to DC because of the combination of horror elements IN comics at the time and "soap opera".
To have a horror movie director and not know what to do with them in live action adapting a comic shows the lack of knowledge of the subject, FIRST of all!
SECOND of all, uh...Spiderman transforming as described could actually work!
Exhibit A: "Manspider" in the "Neogenic Nightmare" arc in the '90s Spiderman animated series.
How amazing would it be in some alternate timeline where the Spiderman horror movie is adapted as described in the video but ended up being closer to the animated series and some people's reaction would be the typical criticism of "Hollywood Ending"!
You know, like back then with Mary Jane and the bridge scene in the 2002 movie where she lives.
Because "SPOILER" Spiderman transform's back to his human form...
(Sort of non spoilers but there's a sort of parallel between the series and both '80s The Fly movies that would apply)
    Also, Batman living among criminals?
That's IN Batman Begins, before Bruce is approached by the League Of Shadows...guy...I haven't seen it in years.
Edit) Btw when Spiderman's webbing didn't work in Spiderman 2 (2004) that also happened in TAS before SM transformed.
Only difference was in TAS it was SM wall crawling ability that stopped working.
So Maguire's SM with the wrist web thing already "has a toe" in my "Imaginary Manspider movie".
Also "giant mechanical spider" would finally be done right with Spider slayer...as shown in TAS! *JAZZ HANDS*

I disagree with your assement that completely altering the source material's themes is bad, or that a work can't replace the original - Kubrick's The Shining is infinitely better than the original book, and almost ALL of Shakespeares' plays are adaptations, and they're so good that nobody even remembers the original works.

Sometimes the adaptation does better than the original. The movie adaptation of the Watchman made Rorschach more violent and the Boys show was better than the comic. The Boys comic was just about edge lords in leather jackets killing superheroes for shits and giggles and apparently every superhero was evil no matter what. The show makes the Boys human and gave superheroes a spectrum.
