Got out in 2017. These tips woulda been money back then for a lot of guys when this PC was relatively newer. Most of us just pulled a lot of the interior foam out of the front and back panels and turned the floppy shoulder material inside itself shaped nicer to the plates/backers. Made aftermarket pads fit a little better too. Us "in-between size" dudes always had to mod your issued crap to just...WORK. My sizes were basically "Extra Medium/Not-quite-Regular," lol! Good shit.
I was going to mention the tucking of the shoulder material as well. That made that PC system a lot more comfortable and fitting for proper shoulder pressure into a 240
@Nic W I hear its got alot easier but just if yall still swim and you arnt good then just take what they teach to heart. The injuries there are crazy so try and take care of your body as best as possible. Study and learn everything you can itll be over before you know it.
the 550 cord trick was a game changer for me thank you! couldnt fully extend my arms at first with this gen 2 plate carrier and i hated how the stock of my long gun was halfway on the plate carrier and halfway on my shoulder. now its perfect
Wow. Amazing, the gear now. I remember in 2000 when we had all the “new mollie gear” which consisted of a plate carrier that Velcro’ed from the front then you had to throw on your LBV which was garbage because it had no way to secure to the plate carrier and would always move around. They didn’t want us securing anything to our plate carrier 🙄
Great video. I was given one of these carriers and I like it pretty well but I have been drooling over the newer slick style carriers I really appreciate your take on the simple upgrades to make these more modern
I’m an RP with 1/4 lots of good things going on here and have already implemented some going to be using a lot of knowledge from this vid!! Keep it up y’all 🤘🏼
To fix the low Molle in the back, use the coyote d rings on the camelbak hydration carrier & replace the built in D rings with those & attach it to the back of the shoulder straps. Highly recommend using your own gear for this one since you have to break the rings on the hydration carrier off.
Well this could have come in handy when i was in the Army a few months ago, that OITV was so bulky, preferred the IBA. Oh well next life time i can try this.
Tell me did you get the idea from my channel? On a serious note, I'm glad that you have posted this as I have had a couple of Marines out in Europe ask for help with their systems. It's nice to see that this video is up as I can refer them to your content!
I was one of the first to get the new gear when I got to the fleet. I didn't rate a pc so I got the IMTV (whooooo yay!) but then boots later on got both so yeah cream corn! I thought about ebay sniping a one of these. I've been out for a while now and it would be (beyond having a pc for practical reasons) for familiarity.
Great Vedic very informative. Will the issued side plate bags and plates work a aftermarket Cumber band or do I have to buy a separate bag for it. Thanks
Love It....only One question: why did you put the ptt on the right side of the plate if you are right handler? Isn't more Easy to use on the left side?
Because he feeds the headset cable through the shoulder sleeve, if you had to doff the carrier in a rush either dud to maritime reasons or you ended up the casualty, the cable would interfere and likely snag as you or your buddy was trying to get it off you. The PTT button facing inboard still allows you to use your non dominant hand to activate it comfortably. Dominant side PTT placement in this case also helps reduce snag hazards as the radio is located on the non dominant side so any excess wire is flattened against your PC by having to stretch across the front, so you eliminate having to tuck away extra wiring or possibly have it snag on something in the brush. Hope that helps bud!
What's your view on attaching the issued camelback carrier on the back of the flak for hydration purposes? A lot of marines at my unit cinch the pack straps on it to the back plate bag as a semi permanent hydration source on the carrier but I've seen it as source of discomfort with the buckles and straps. I feel that it solves the issue of a sagging hydration bladder but is there a way to affix the camelback carrier to the rear plate bag without compromising long-term comfort?
Well, as someone who had a camelbak in Afghanistan but couldn’t use it, I carried water bottles in my FROG trousers. Typically four, two on each side. I had to carry one of the guardian packs, an ECM, which didn’t allow me to comfortably utilize a camelbak. Use whatever is most comfortable. In the end though, nothing is ever comfortable.
been while but I used fast clips to semi attach my carrier to the back and it worked great just clip the straps together and tuck them underneath the carrier.
This is incredible. Honestly If I had stayed in the marines just 2 more years id have access to all the new gear the guys are getting. great stuff
True but how knows what the future has in store....
Would u really want to stay in the marines for an extra 2 years in general tho
why don't u just buy this now?
Looks better than IOTV but I wouldn't buy it with my own money.
Did you keep your gear when you discharged?

That is some rad gear. I was Medically retired in 2010 and still miss being in every day! Great video.
This is a goldmine of info, at IMC right now and I will definitely be using this
Glad to hear it! This is exactly what we like to hear!
Use the Issued rig and clips to mount it to your flak, run one little pouch for your 14s. IMC was a hell of a time best of luck

My unit still has the gen 2 so this is going to help a lot. Thanks
Fantastic. Just switched to the gen III, but I'll be applying some of these techniques to it nonetheless. Thanks!
Don't know if you've seen it yet, but they have a video out on the Gen 3

Really good stuff. Wish this came out when I was running a gen 2.
Now make one for the Gen 3 pls! Victor units are getting those now, and there’s so many parts to it many folk don’t really know what to make of it all
It’s next up
Great video. I was given one of these carriers and I like it pretty well but I have been drooling over the newer slick style carriers I really appreciate your take on the simple upgrades to make these more modern
Anticipating this video for awhile. Great work.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

Nice man! Glad to hear it
Nice I was 1/4 A from 08-12
@@semperhigh0311 I’m with A. Co right now best company out there! RAIDERS! ♠️
My left ear is really loving this
If I didn’t read this I was going to just assume he only played music the whole video

This is absolutely fantastic. I am fortunate enough to be able to use my own gear, but had I not, this would have definitely been my go to.
What gear do you use?
Well this could have come in handy when i was in the Army a few months ago, that OITV was so bulky, preferred the IBA. Oh well next life time i can try this.
Much appreciated, brother! I'll pass on this information to my guys, since we probably won't be the priority for the gen 3 for a bit.
Please do a video on heat rash from long field ops, and how to set up our kit to prevent or help it
I wish I saw this when I was in but now I have a few ideas for my new kit.
Tell me did you get the idea from my channel? On a serious note, I'm glad that you have posted this as I have had a couple of Marines out in Europe ask for help with their systems. It's nice to see that this video is up as I can refer them to your content!

You could have just used the yib yab strap that is included with the carrier
Honestly I never even touched it so that could be rigged maybe
@@shawconceptsllc.8797 that's how I used to have my carrier set up a yib yab on my right and a buckle on my left.
Thank GOD, I am find out Marines Corp Kit❤❤❤
Excellent video, really great information and loved seeing the down on the field level mods to the carrier.
I still have my worn & torn Eagle Industries Plate Carrier, thought about selling it but it has too many memories.
Keep it for sentimental value, maybe make a display.
@@shawconceptsllc.8797 thought about selling it and upgrading to a newer plate carrier but your right about the sentimental value!
Oh I'm definity gonna have the tightest looking flak for deployment next year 😆 genuinely glad I came across this
I remember folding in the kevlar inserts on the earlier imtv to give the same profile as the gen ii.
That is something folks have recommended with the yoke on this but that adds the risk of friction points for the Gen II
Gonna use some of these tips on my IOTV for sure
This was awesome can get some pointers on slings and battle belts as well?
Thank you to all who have served our country! 🇺🇸💪 Hoorah!
I see that little jack sticking out of your sleeve
Cool info man. Glad to see someone spread some good knowledge
Thanks for the tips !!! And awesome video!!!
Just got to my unit I’m definitely gonna be doing this
you should do this for the army plate carrier
I still have my good ol flak and kevlar with LBV, damn im old
Nice video, maybe have stereo sound and turn the music down a tad
How can I order this set up? Please let me know I want to place an order. I’m a huge fan of this set up.
That knife 🔪 is amazing!!!
Awesome video very informative and thanks for sharing!
Great video and tips dude. 👌
Glad you liked it!
I have yet to find any shoulder straps
Gotta love 5.50 cord, it pretty much solves everything 😆
I didn't know that the female small tubes worked with the large male tubes. Very cool
What is the knife in the Pouch?
Our future Collab blade
@@shawconceptsllc.8797 Is this no longer a fixed blade you were collaborating with? I’d like to know what it is too.
Very good video thank you so much
Great video! Gen 2 FTW!
Good video for sure. Thanks
Great stuff, as a Marine who had worse then this thanks!
Oh your lucky you got the gen 2, I had the gen 1 with the pasgt with the leather suspension system. I'm pretty sure anything else is better then that.
Can you do the Gen III next?
im probably in a minority but would love youtubers to lower the background music to be just that. Really cool vid
Noted, we're self taught on the video editing and all feedback is appreciated. We'll lower it next time.
All good stuff!
Great Vedic very informative. Will the issued side plate bags and plates work a aftermarket Cumber band or do I have to buy a separate bag for it.
Thanks
Can you do the gen 3 plate carrier
A bottled Baja? In December? You’re a wizard.
Dope Music Choice
Where can i buy this exact PC?
Where's the cumberbund in the video????
On our site and restocking soon!
My left ear enjoyed this
Big oof, we'll try to correct that in future videos. Not sure how as of yet.
How would you go about running side plates with this carrier? Optimally?
Lmao, you would use the original method.
can you do the IOTV?
I’m so happy this finally came out, can’t wait for the gen 3 video to come out, the gen 3 is trash, I miss my old gen 2
So we stopped rocking side plates now?
if you use that cummer bund, what clips do you put on the front of the flak? i didn’t see it in the video!
I was told by a friend that I should use soft armor for my side plates is this right ???
What about mounting side SAPI carriers? Could you get different cummerbunds for that as well? Would the ones you mentioned work?
Love It....only One question: why did you put the ptt on the right side of the plate if you are right handler? Isn't more Easy to use on the left side?

Improve army plate carrier next? Or is it the same brand.
Does anyone know who makes that knife?
Found it, it's a collaboration between Shaw and Half Face Blades but hasn't been released yet.
Humor my question, where can I buy the gen 2 at? I want what was issued for familiarity and has the maritime system as well.
Who makes this plate carrier
Can you share the link for the shoulder strap sleeves? Thanks
Link is in the bio to Spiritus System's LV119 Products Page and you'll find it there
Please make the shoulder covers. No one is making those, and they are needed on more than just this carrier.
Where you get that fixed blade with the karambit retention loop?
where i can buy a gen 2 flak
Question, where'd you get that Baja Blast?
What size 550 cord do I use?
Please, consider quieter background music in next videos.
Noted, we’ll try to balance background music and audio
Did the gen 2 not come with an additional piece to make a slick shoulder for better Stockweld?
Yes. It's called the yib yab strap. Comes in the repair kit.
Any chance to see a similar walkthrough for IOTV (Gen 3/4) users?
Question is this good for paintball to
I missed mine....
so is that level 3 armor without the plates?
Is that the real Shaw in the video ?
There is no real Shaw
Who makes this carrier?
Id love to buy this shit from yall before my next deployment, but its been SOLD OUT for what feels like months.
Which items are you looking for?
@@shawconceptsllc.8797 im looking for this exact retrofit kit in this video for my flak IN COYOTE 🇺🇸
where can you buy one of these?
Do you get to keep the things you get issued?
No
Hey does it matter for the cummerbund whether I use 550 cord or shock cord? Thank you
Where can we get g2?
Where can you get the sarc patch on the front
Target Indicators make patches similar but this was a custom fundraiser patch
I couldn’t find the link for the shoulder strap covers are those made by Shaw?
Not as of now but Spiritus Systems has similar ones that they confirmed should work. Look under LV119 Parts
I used that first plate carrier when I was in it was just too fucking bulky and hurt my fucking back anytime I was in the prone

I never knew you could take off the annoying clips on the bottoms. World of difference there
Haha Shaw Shank! I see what you did there lol
we need 12 mags at least boss!
This all looks like it’s creating a lot of hot spots. Can anyone here confirm?
