How to HIDE / NEATEN your GAMES CONSOLES

- Hi, in this video I show you a nice way to hide your Xbox One X, PS4 Slim and Nintendo Switch behind your TV. This will neaten up your room by hiding all the cables, it may also, like in my instance also give you more room space.
Here are the UK Amazon affiliate links for the wall mounts. Other versions are available, or you can do DIY versions which will be cheaper.
Xbox One X Wall Mount - amzn.to/2DrF95W
PS4 Slim Wall Mount - amzn.to/2P9J769
3M VHB Double Sided Tape - amzn.to/2BN5oUf
You can get wall mounts for most modern consoles so this set up can be used even if you don't own these particular consoles from the video. Just make sure you buy the correct wall mount for your games console.
This video is not sponsored and I paid for the wall mounts.
Many thanks, Vince :-) - Навчання та стиль
“And if it bricks, then it doesn’t matter to me, because I get more content to film.” I love that sentence.
"Oh it's broken? Good, let's take it apart"
"I'll be the first one in it"
Ahhh, memeworthy repair one-liners to live by.
Brick is Australian slang for break
he makes very good and helpful content!
Hey Vince, not sure if you mind, but you forgot to blur out your email when showing the xbox.
Thanks, my cat is now mounted behind my tv
😂😂😂
You should see the cables in my workshop you'd have a fit 🤣
Great tips Vince! but what about cooling? do the consoles over heat if they are down the back of the tv?
All that heat build up in one place, not good Vince. Never understood why folks mount tv's high up the wall, with couch that close I'd get neck strain.
Got a friend with a 65” TV mounted nearly touching the ceiling and sofa about 8ft away, needless to say not the most pleasant viewing experience craning your neck up
I'm not a fan of wall mounts either. I like being able to move stuff around easily, and having the TV at eye level when you sit down, and straight on, is the best way to view it.
I agree, wall mounting a TV is still meant to be eye level with the viewer. People wanna have them touching the ceiling, no sense.
I have to agree. Always good practice to spend 5 minutes thinking about the height of the sofa and the height you want the tv off the floor etc...
He is the worst at house decoration
That's good for when you don't have enough space on a table or a shelf
Really?
@@sebastian6576 LOL, obvious points aside, it's good if you have children that climb on shelves and lean on consoles
@@paradiseyoshi2074 you subscribed to me but I don't upload videos 🙃
Yeah those discs aren’t gunna be happy that they aren’t the right way up. They are just rather sensitive though because they haven’t had dinner yet.
The xbox is also not designed for being on its side to play or spin disks and this could break the disks. This has always been a problem with xboxs whereas the ps2 and above could stand on there side safely.
The Wall Duck the one s is designed for it
@@pugg5ter542 the xbox 360 as well
This is something I have been seriously considering doing myself. 1st job though is to chase the solid stone chimney though to hide all the cables haha.
Great video and tips as always.
Won't it putting behind the tv create thermal issues?
Haven't seen a My Mate Vince how-to video in a long time :D
Day 1 of asking for a like from Vince
He did it so you could shut up lol
Looks great Vince!
I'm the kinda guy that likes his consoles being visible.
I'm the opposite. I want it to be invisible
I'm right in the middle. I like about half the console showing.
@@inputfunny I'm sort of the same, but I'm more of a 25% kinda guy
@@marcozolo3536 Respectable, but a little on the low end for my tastes. Anything between 30-60% is ideal.
@@PizzaGoat323 Me too
Superb Job matey , operation daughters room underway 👍🏼👍🏼
One of my favorite UA-camr’s ☺️👍🏼
My mate vinces videos are fantastic.
Such a growth as a content provider. I enjoyed this tutorial and this glimpse of Mur of the past.
Thats a good tv mount too!, what kind did you get for the tv to wall?!
Great idea 💡 I am going to try it
Vince you've done it again!
Love your neaten console build.
Nice work!
Such a neat idea👍 Also we saw some things you forgot to blur out
UR THE BEST! THANK YOU!!!
That’s super neat!
We have the same tv, do you use the voice control on magic remote ?
You sure tidied up the room 👍
finally i can push the fear of a spontaneous electrical fire farther away and keep gaming
Hahaha
I'm sure many people will love the idea of having that particular set up, especially if they want to be clutter free or have more space - so I can see this set up being useful for many people out there. However, I personally don't like the set up. I like to see my console, and my console isn't surrounded by clutter - so it's actually in a great spot.
Big difference 👍 nice
Thanks Tampa :-)
Ok I'm a take the second reply 👍
Hi
8:06
The switch... carcass itself would have been worth its own video :)
Anyhow, great setup.
Awesome! My autistic daughter just broke like our 7th or 8th flat screen LCD. The next one is going up high out of her reach. Thank you for this tutorial. Wish me luck!
My son’s PS4 (positioned horizontally) gets very hot on the left hand side exhaust. For the heat to escape up, that’s probably why it needs to be mounted the other way. The heat is going to hit the Xbox and not only make the PS4 run hotter but will heat up the Xbox too. On the plus side, there’s probably a PS4 overheating video on the horizon!! Great channel by the way.
Nice vince.
Great video.
i 3d printed some bracets from abs but it got very hot there my xbox one x so i just keep it on a desr also vince u can plug in ur ps4 to ur xbox and use it without switcing hdmis i have my htpc pluggef in i can change it anytimr
Very VERY neat
Ps4 is known for overheating issues if there's not enough air in its surroundings. Will this position prevent the ps4 from being able to have air flow or heat produced by tv contributing to giving it more heat?
get a usb face plate for the floor wires plug in like an outlet
KYAM PLAYS gonna be a custom job for the ps2 extension ports
Good video vince. Now please fix some more consoles!
Hello sir where can I buy the pse4 holder
For the ps4 i put verticaly in the other way and work perfectly the design of the disc player allow you both way with no problems
Does it matter which way you face the xbox or the.ps4? Because i hear ppl saying that it has only one way to stand.and shouldn't be standing upside down.
How have you got passed the over heating issues ?
Is it save if i place my tv on the ps4 on the top or it will break i am scared to try pls tell me ?
Thanks, that looks good i want to buy a switch for my router, and then put all cables to tv and consoles
Pretty cool
Will being upside down affect the ability of the switch to dissipate heat?
I'm sure the PS and XB will be ok, but the switch does need every bit of help it can get even if that means being the right way up.
It won't change much, and not being in a dock is already a nice thing (and I guess it will only overheat if you play a lot of hours at the time).
I guess there are no batteries too and also no screen.
R u aware of the heat and noise it will produce....love your vids btw
My Mate VINCE Your Cool
My man 🤜🤛
I must have missed it but where is the power coming from? Next room?
What happened to your samsung tv there that was shown in your old videos?
I dont want to hide my consoles. I want them to look beautiful on a media stand or cabinet with plenty of ventilation space so they can look beautiful for the long hrs I want to play them. No hate here.
He only did that cause his room was small and wanted more walking space
I'm gonna try this.
VHB is magic. It is used to bond aircraft skins to frames. 3M work wonders with adhesives.
But what about the ventilation for the ps4 and xbox, wont they overheat?
Would be really cool if there was a way to have a kind of door in the baseboard so when you aren't using the wires you could hide them away
Brah..... We need more repair vids. Like 3 a week :) Love them, and I am educating myself with them. Learned a lot from you. I need more teachings from the master
حسنت على الفكرة أنها راعة وجيدة شكرآ 👍
What about overheating?
Xbox one X generat alot of heat in certain games which will effect the operation of console... plus the heat from TV itself.
Won’t they over heat I’d liked to see u do that with the ps5 and Xbox series x lol 😀
Xbox X doesnt need to be behind TV. It could be in kitchen.
What TV bracket is that please? @my mate vince
Clever idea...
I hate to rain on your parade, but, in the computer business, the idea always was, if you're gonna mount the disc drive sideways, instead of flat (or vice versa, whatever) the drive should be formatted IN THE POSITION IT'S GOING TO BE RUNNING IN. So If you've been running for years horizontal, flipping it to vertical NOW might not be the best thing.....
It'll "probably" be fine, but.... It's a risk.
That TV is so high... My neck hurts just looking at it....
Doesn't matter with SSD. Modern 2.5 drives probably aren't bothered either. I'd be more worried about the heat behind the TV
Feel like it would look pretty clean to have controller brackets on the wall that you can just drop controllers on to to charge. Though I guess it defeats the point of hiding everything.
For the ps4 slim you could use a usb hub if you keep running out of usb ports
As a poor adult, in the US, I have a weird apartment that the living room is small and I'm using tables instead of using entertainment center. I was able to fit two tables, but it causes some trouble to get into the hallway and trying to get into two bedrooms and the other table is only three feet it's still causing some trouble. So thanks your video my mate Vince. Now I can just put the other table into one room for a computer setup for a family member to work online. So I put my Nintendo switch that is only docked cuz I don't really play it outside the apartment. When I get my Xbox. I made can only afford a last-gen hardware that still does 4K. May be able to put that behind the TV as well and have all the wires going through the table behind so it will look neater now than it was before. Wires are still going beneath the table to under to the surge protector. But I have it organized where it won't cross cables. And hopefully I can put my DVDs and Blu-rays on the Xbox without breaking anything. I just want to organize because I want to make more space to go to the hallway and also it's more organized so as of now I have my Chromebook and surface go in a coffee maker box. So my controllers is in the front of the TV but also I can see the TV better thanks to moving it forward and also are they will be organized by it won't look organized around the ground that will be organized where it will not be messy. So thank you my mate Vince
It's not in an enclosed space so heat build-up isn't going to be a thing remember he's going to be playing one console at a time and the only thing mounted to the TV is a Nintendo switch switch that he guttedis not heavy nor do I think you'll get hot enough to melt the glue for me though I like to keep my consoles on display
But the TV is going to produce heat aswell. And it's going to get a lot of heat from the consoles. It will shorten the life span of the TV.
The Xbox One is probably going to overheat, the PS4 might overheat aswell, because they will be sucking in the warm air they just pumped out.
I am personally not a fan of wall mounts, because the consoles were not designed to work like this, which means there might be heat building up inside the consoles aswell.
@@MyRegardsToTheDodo I do not understand, I think the most overheat is caused by the fact that the consoles are sitting in a cabinet with no ventillation, the hot air of the tv is most likely getting out at the top, and I think there are plenty of room to breath. The console are made to stay horizontally, so it is the same for a wall mount, I cannot see the difference. If it overheat it is a really bad design.
@@Emetsys No, the consoles are not made to stay horizontally. And they overheat in a cabinet because they can't suck in cold air. The hot air doesn't get blown out on top, it gets blown out at the back of the consoles and then cold air gets sucked in from the sides. If you put it up horizontally the console will suck in it's own hot air again, especially in a surrounding that crammed. But for the TV I wasn't talking about hot air. Do you have a PS4? If yes, just feel how hot it gets when playing. A TV is cooled passively, it doesn't have an active cooling system, because it normally doesn't get hot enough to actually need one (the hottest part is the front panel). Now add another heat source right behind it and it might be too hot for the passive cooling system.
MyRegardsToTheDodo I agree with most of what you’re saying, and even if I was told it was safe by someone I trust chances are I still wouldn’t do it. But I do have to argue on the Vertical stance of consoles. I don’t personally know of the Xbox One X or PS4 Pro, but their less powerful counterparts definitely can take air in while vertical,
@@slyp5409 Yes, they can, but they're not designed to do so. Older consoles had a fan that sucked air into the consoles, but the PS3, the PS4 and the Xbox One all were designed to push air out. The air gets pushed out of the back and fresh air gets sucked in from the sides and because hot air goes up, it doesn't get sucked in from the sides again. If you place them horizontally the hot air gets pushed out in the back and then sucked in on top again.
I like it!
are you going to buy the new xbox serie x ?
I love my PS4 VESA mount 👍
The usbs would look neater if you used USB wall plates, which some actually could be utilized for mains also if needed. so that's an option I would seriously think about, USB only wall plate or USB and Mains socket combo wall plates.
The orientation of the Switch is definitely not ideal for heat exhaust. Why not rotate it so the exhaust and card slot are pointed towards the side instead of downward?
Cheers Vince, I have just put my switch dock on the back of my TV stand where it fits perfectly between the stand and the tv itself and I have also glued a joycon charger to the top of the stand so the whole setup is hidden but easily accessible . It just helps the living room look less of a teenagers room as I have 4 consoles all causing issues with space. Thanks for the inspiration.
The xbox and ps4 will still overheat because they don't have enough air between the TV and the console
THATS MAGIC
Can you hook gamepad up to the switch
How do you keep it all cool.
Nice
👍👍
A little caböe box would may neaten and hide the cables on the floor I think.
Sweet
right so the xbox one x and ps4 slim have barely any breathing space and the one x will breathing hot air into the ps4 when it’s on
Cool!
Well the xbox and the switch are fine cooling wise but since the ps4 has vents on each side and if dust builds you know the drill.
Need more videos !
Is there a link to were you got the tape from ?
Just added the UK Amazon link in the description :-) You can also look up '3M VHB 5952'
My Mate VINCE thanks for that link Vince ❤️👍🖖❤️👍🖖
Never liked TVs on the walls this is one reason the other is it hunts your neck when having to look up a bit. But nice work as all ways
That thumbnail makes me really nervous lol.
Only one thing could make that better a 3 Port HDMI Switch with Pigtail Cable sold on Amazon 3 power on detecting (HDMI Inputs) ports that lets you play 1 at a time by turning on controller to power game system up then turn that system off and turn on another by it's game controller.
Vince, you need to get a 3D printer. I have very little doubt you could come up with innovative designs (instead of VHB taping your switch to a back of a TV).
Yeah except 3D printers are pretty expensive. A roll of VHB tape costs like 2% the price of the said 3D printer
Wanna see you do the same with the next generation of consoles 🤣
The PS5 will be bigger than Vince's TV while looking like a bathtub-like Internet router, and the Xbox Series X isn't bothering to pretend that it's just a dumb PC tower. LOL
Nice stuff mate! Having just started watching, noticing you mentioning how it's seen, you could frame the TV if you wanted :) I've been thinking about doing the same. I like the mounting dude
When you charge the joycons on another switch, how do you reconnect the joycons to the switch?
You can do it wirelessly by holding down the sync button on the Joy Con and go to the controllers screen on the Switch :-)
My Mate VINCE thanks! Love the videos!
I just use Stadia....job done
Nice video LOL
Hi
When Vince sat on the controller, all his top 10 UA-cam subscribers were visible on his Friends List, so he blurred the screen to protect their privacy.
How does that not overheat
LUV UR VIDS!!!
I would recommend against having the xbox on its side due to it not being designed to play the disks when on its side.
