DAAAAAAAAAMMMN!!!! Your reaction made that so much fun! These Kids are five Musical Savants who I've loved since their introduction on the Sing Off! Good Stuff you've given this 72 year old and IMHO PTX is the top class all others strive to become! Outstanding reaction!!
You said it very well! They are individually so extraordinarily gifted + dedicated (they WORK at their craft). And they are also stunningly generous as musicians and artists. As you put it, each one can shine without overrunning anyone else. They understand the interdependence, vulnerability and power required for their "musical magic" to shine its brightest. Love them, love them, love them.
It's a joyous anthem...as it should be. Pentatonix has made it "smile", for sure. It's now the only version of the song I want to hear. They have zeroed-in on the essence of the song! Wow!!!
It was pure genius that they gave this song an African vibe! I suspect that Kev being of Nigerian heritage had something to do with the origin of this arrangement! I’ll bet 95% of first-time listeners would never guess the genre this would be in when they first tuned in! Pure genius! Kev’s a genius anyway!)
“A recipe for happiness” - you nailed the perfect description for Pentatonix, and especially for this song! I can’t help dance around the room or in the car when this one comes on. Love your reactions to PTX! Thank you.
This one just just makes you wanna get up and dance...not something I would have ever thought I’d say about O Come All Ye Faithful. Love it! PTX is amazing. Definitely each one is a master of their craft. Beautiful! 💗🎄💗
By far my favorite of their Christmas songs! It is just sheer joy and happiness from start to finish. The African beat to this song was so unexpected yet so perfect to set the tone and mood of the song. You rocked this reaction 😊
Is this not the best Xmas song you have ever heard??!! I absolutely love this, has me dancing in my chair. You cannot sit still or keep the smile from your face while listening to this version of this song. Pentatonix does it again.
Holy Spirit running through my body, chill bumps, smiling big time! Celebrating the birth of Christ..the feeling can't get any better than this! Thanks for playing this song ❣
I love your reaction! So many people have commented on the "Lion King" feel, or the African vibe, or the Caribbean or Calypso influence. But you're the first to say "it feels right." And it DOES. Thanks!!
Chills…A recipe for happiness….. Thank you so much for this fun reaction. I love watching you and your love for PTX shows through every time. This is absolutely a favorite because they not only made it their own but added so much flavor and energy. Who am I kidding? I LOVE ALL THEIR SONGS!!!!🤗
Hello DTV! This is my favourite PTX Christmas songs and definitely my favourite version of this song. Makes me want to get up and dance every time. Avi and Kevin driving the rhythm is great. Scott starting so smooth and rich. Mitch and Kirstie with the ear candy "Eee yeah eee yeah". Then Mitch and that angelic voice and piercing clarity. Kirstie sharp and clear. Then they start layering and stacking the voices one on top of the other, so glad you picked that up....it is genius in the arrangement. Then the choir coming in then rising to the crescendo. The joy on their faces and the dancing! A total Pentatonix masterpiece...yet again!
They recently did Carol of the Bells and it's amazing... would love to see you reacting to that... I don't think Mitch takes a breath during the entire song! Incredible!
You just made my day :) I love watching you as much as you love watching PTX. I get chills every time I watch this but the were double chills today watching your face. I may have this smile on my face the whole day, thank you :)
I don't have a huge amount of experience, but what I HAVE experienced of African music, is it's been so full of joy. This took me back to the first time I saw "The Lion King", the musical. We were lucky enough to be sitting in the orchestra section. So when in the opening number all the "animals" came down the aisles singing....ohhhhh! So overcome with joy & awe!! This song brings me right back to that moment and those feelings. Pure happiness!
They did an awesome job with this classic hymm. It resonates, and I think the African sounds added so much to it. I truly enjoy your reactions. Happy Holidays to every one .
It is a very traditional and classical hymn going back hundreds of years. In churches it has never really changed. It is choral but lacks joy and energy.. now we have a burst of complete happiness at Pentatonix version..everyone feels happy and good again.
Thanks for a great reaction! You would love the way they do "12 Days of Christmas". I Don't want to spoil your reaction but there are some fun surprises in that one that are beyond mastering what they normally do.
What the Funk, I really like this and it was alluring right the first opening singer. The ending was so great to listen to that it just make me feel in the Xmas Spirit. Hey Bro such a great Reaction; especially your contagious excites enthusiasm. Gary
Who else would think to put a calypso beat to Come All Ye Faithful? Just ingenious. What a masterful performance form PTX. And the choir at the end. Wow. If you don't feel good after listening to this... Loved your happy reaction!!!
I'm wandering through Pentatonix Christmas reactions to try and get a little Christmas in July vibe going. I loved your reaction to this song! It is such a joyous song and it makes you want to dance no matter the time of year. This is absolutely my favorite version of this song. I'm afraid when I hear it from now on, it will feel a little dull. But then, that's what Pentatonix does! They take a song that you may like a little or even dislike a little and turn it into your absolute favorite song. This is definitely an upgrade to an old Christmas song and I appreciate you reacting to it! Cheers! PS I liked your reaction so much that I am subscribing today.
Liked and commented for the algorithm...hope it helped 😁 Avi and Kevin lit this thing on FIRE!!!! Never hear this song the same again!!! JOYOUS!!!! Had to add Great reaction!! "Joy to The World" is a take like this it is fire!
I didn't get into PTX til early last fall, but I've seen quite a few of their videos since then and this is my absolute favorite when it comes to Mitch. It's not his most impressive vocally but he looks so happy and joyous a person can't help but smile and dance along
love this version so much, it really matches the lyric of the song where it says joyful and triumphant, the song is meant to be sung joyfully which this version really showcasing...it does have that african lion king ish vibe...I am loving it
Not only did they make it their own, but they also made it so much better than the original, in my opinion anyway. This was such a feel-good song, love it!
Yes, THIS is the way this song was meant to be sung - with unbridled joy!
♥ Kevin's dad is from Nigeria, which may account for the African vibe. I love this version of the song. Makes me want to dance to Bethlehem!
This is how this song should be sung ALL the time!
Also this "vibe" is continued in Joy to the World if you've not heard it yet seriously recommend after doing this

I love how Pentatonix can take a stale Christmas song and make it fresh and new again. ✌❤🇨🇦
And without really changing it.

The choir amplifies it even more... I love it. awesome reaction bro.
Pentaholics will never mislead you!! XO

Scott to Avi "Here comes the choir!" I could listen to the final minute on a loop for the rest of the day.
You can't help but feel pure joy, to PTX's version of this song! So appropriate for the Christmas holidays!
They all have their parts and they all support each other.
