    One of the best Plugin suite from AA. Big love to that italian stuff.

    After having demoed a lot of AA plugins, Erin is their best imo. AA's compressors seem to get better with each new release. Unbelievable great results on drum buss, vocals, acoustic instruments and master

      I was wary of this one because of some things I read on forums about bugginess but this thing sounds fantastic =0

    the compressor is pretty incredible and under appreciated in my opinion. probably because it’s a bit finicky to setup with the sides not linking properly. sidechain filter is a must on anything fast and bass heavy and even with short attack times the envelope of compression is very smooth and classy sounding.

      One of AA's best compressors imo, maybe not for every genre, but adds that little extra that makes it sound better

    Perfect for ballads. And I used the mid EQ based on your suggestion to warm up 1 master. Thanks!

    Use Reaper for Acustica, you can run many more Acustica Audio plugins with Reaper - assuming you have a relatively recent computer.

    Thanks for the review. Thinking about picking this up on the release sale - I think I read they're going to push out an update that should improve CPU usage soon too. Good to hear this in action.

    Where are you using the Avalon 747 in your chain? Would be great to see an updated video of your analog setup. Seems like you've added/subtracted a lot over the past couple years.

    sounds great, but i'm having a lot of cloks and dropouts on pro tools (12.8.1) and LPX, i have to change buffer size everytime it freaks audio engine :(

    Acustica plugins being CPU intensive is an understatement.

      You’re spitting talking points. If you don’t use Pro Tools, the performance is significantly better. No DAW i use barfs and crashes playback (Bitwig, Reaper, Mixbus). It happens all the time in PT with many different plugins. Part of the criticism for AA plugins is because of ProTools dodgy engine which crashes out pretty frequently with many plugins that are doing serious modeling work. Maybe Avid needs to fix their product… but they won’t because they have a captive audience who are Stockholming so hard they’ll defend it to the death.
      Aa stuff is also getting legit less spendy with the new engine, including a new version of this plugin. They’re going through and updating all their stuff with the new engine. Like one update a month.

    They just released an update. But still, those are CPU hogs. You should have pretty power cores to be able to use them all on the same channel. You could chain them, so the load is split over few cores, since all plugins on the same channel must be processed by the same CPU core.

    • @mixedbymatty
      @mixedbymatty  4 роки тому

      Thanks man! I will have to download the update for sure. I was thinking about thinking about chaining them as well.

    • @Espresso101
      @Espresso101 4 роки тому +1

      Sorry to chime in but could someone explain the process? How do you chain them so their split on different cores?

    • @mixedbymatty
      @mixedbymatty  4 роки тому +3

      @@Espresso101 Basically each channel in a daw uses only one core. 99% of the time that's why you have cpu spikes. Cause one channel has a ton of stuff on it and the core can't handle it. So what you can do is create a aux to a aux for example. Put half the plugins on one aux and half on the other aux. That way your taking to load off the cpu
      hope that makes sense.
