I will follow. I did the same thing and saved a poorly done slantnose conversion. I think that you've decided on a great powerplant with the most needed aspect of these cars the transmission. I absolutely hated my 901 tranny, no matter much much I did to it with new bushings it sucked, I did get it close to being ok-ish with a ford 5.0 foxbody shifter bolted in place of the factory one. I now run the boxster 5 speed with a big turbo VW 1.8t swap putting out about 320HP, and the cars a rocket. If I change turbos I can get 500+ HP as I'm running an older GT28rs. At 5000rpm all hell breaks loose and so does the tires in third gear, unfortunately I now need a new clutch and broke my axle last week as the CV bolts slowly worked themselves out. Some advice is to drill the CV bolts and run mechanics wire through them to stop them from backing out. My axles do seem to run at an extreme angle, I hope it works better for you with the six speed, I built this car before they had any kind of kits for it. The benefit of my VW 1.8t swap is that it bolts right to the boxster transmission without an adapter plate as its the same transmission found in the Audi A4/Passat B5 fwd and the motors in those are longitudinal, so they sit already proper in the 914. Thanks for the info. I really wanted to do the Boxster 5spd. Mainly because they are sooooooo much cheaper and easier to find. But I was told that they can’t handle 500hp so im very interested to see how yours hold up.

Well we are just average JOE'S working on our project's one day a week. But there are tons of episodes now and they show all the way up to where we are now. Which the engine and trans are in. It's not running yet but getting close. I think your car would be pretty badass with a K series engine in it. Good luck in which ever way you choose!!!
hmmm lets see just how or why this got my attention, I have 3 914s (all projects) 1 is an ls7 swap soon to be home from renegade, 2 is a 911 swap, and 3rd is a red Beach Boys Monterey, with 914 engine, I dont have a top. 2 I have a k24 swaped lotus exige. and 3 I love anything even close to the silly ideas I come up with, and I got to say it looks like we went to separate schools together!! keep up the good work

The clutch, flywheel and adapter all come from Kennedy Engineering. Starter is still the Porsche starter unless I get an aftermarket later!
