Hey all, lots and lots of guesses on the weight of my pack. A couple people have guessed the correct weight. I am going to send a small gift to the first two people who guessed correctly. Thanks for playing along, and thanks for watching this trip report! You’re welcome to keep commenting, but the correct weight is 46 pounds. Again, I only have the means to send two gifts, so the first two people who guessed I will contact by commenting on their comment. 👍🏻👊🏻
Hot tenting FTW!!! Absolutely nothing like the sight of smoke rising from a stovepipe, from a tent with the soft glow of light coming from within, amongst a snowy landscape, on a frigid, still, moonlit night!
I know the answer to that question, so if anyone wants to go halfers on the loot, hit me up! Haha! Such a fun trip Dev. Love getting into the BC with ya! 🍻
That twin peak is a cool tent ! Plenty of room! You have a nice set up there . Looks like everyone had a great time . Love the snow ! It's so nice out there . Hot tents are awesome ! Takes the comfort level up a notch . 36 lbs
I'll go with 29 lbs. I just got back from a winter day hike like an hour ago, and my pack was 20 lbs even, including 40oz of iced tea, 1L canteen of hot water for coffee, a full spirit stove, and an extra layer in case it got dark and the temps dropped.
It goes without saying you are such a rad guy and we are so beyond happy to finally get to know you. Definitely looking forward to another outing soon. Gotta admit this vid made us smile and want mashed potatoes haha. Great times brother! Thank you for the channel shout out to us too! Your friends, Jay and Elisa.
How does the hot smoke stack pipe not melt the tent? Loved the shot of the river at 6:15. Okay, are you carrying the stove, the tent, the hatchet you split the wood with and the pork chops? 34 lbs. I think you made your friends carry some LOL
Would you say it's truly warm in there with the fire going?? Like there has to be a noticeable difference in the temp? I wish someone would do a temp test with a digital ermometer
your stuff looks amazingly light..i was blown away by your little woodstove send me a link where i can buy one and that tent was awesome send link please. I have trecked with 75 lbs for 2 hours on my back and it wasnt fun ...your stance looked upright...i guess maximum 47 lbs. thanks for the vid thumbs up
@@BackcountryExposure ouch. Sorry to hear. Hope he recovered ok. Jokes aside - how is the heat distribution in this tent? I suspect it gets hot near the stove and freezing on the opposite side
What temperature rating were your sleeping bags? Just bought a tent and stove but not sure if I need to buy a four season rated sleeping bag or if I can keep using my 40F bag and maybe a blanket.
Looking to do a 6 day deer hunt in the back country is this a tent you would recommend no stove?? (not needed for the time of year) might have the inner tent not a bug fan.
Nice video, I 'm too late for guessing the weight of your pack but I'm interested in this '' hot tent''. What is the effect of having a wood stove inside regarding to the condensation ? Is there more condensation, less ? Adrien
I'm looking to buy a tent and hope you could advise since you seem to have used a lot. Overwhelmed by it. It's just me but I'd like a two person... it isn't for hiking per se but more of a ..needs to last about 7 years for the tribulation (about to start..not taking the mark of the beast..the vaccine patch on the hand... means no buying or selling so I need to get it quick) in all 4 seasons and I'm not sure where I'll go. I didn't want to have one break on me but also want it light but sturdy enough for wind and all. I've seen some canvas teepee style tents but also want a bug protector and floor. I've seen some teepee tarps poke a hole in the top? It'd be nice to have a stove option inside if needed. Thank you.
Awesome video man! I really want that tent! I wish I could have made it up there but I am glad you had some good folks up there with ya. We will have to get on a winter trip real soon. Take care man! Oh and I would say your pack is at 27lbs? Thinking with tent and stove and winter gear. Still 10 lbs lighter than my winter pack lol
Luxe makes quality stuff. The Twin Peak looks enormous. My tent is the Minipeak XL. Hot tenting is a blast! Haha- I'll never guess the weight of you pack- I'm not even sure how much my own pack weighs!!
Great video. Looks like a great quick trip in the fresh snow. Not sure what other gear you had with you but assuming you are packing the tent and stove, I guess you came in about 49 lbs. Thanks for sharing.
I have the hexpeak xl and it was awesome on an elk hunt this year, crazy winds and snow. Bought the so med stove and want more room now. The twin peak seems to be the best choice
That’s the way to cook in the woods. The scenery out there is beautiful. Do you have to keep putting wood in the stove at night to keep the tent warm in the morning?? If your carrying the hot tent and stove I’ll say your backpack weighs 44lbs. Cool trip and video Devin!!

Backcountry Exposure what was the correct weight?
Backcountry Exposure nevermind😂😂
Gotta ask:Where can you get a tent like that, and how much does a tent like that cost?

You have me sold on a hot tent
Now that's camping at it's best! Y'all got it goin' on, my man!

Awesome video, and great setup! Those Luxe tents are more and more appealing when I see footage like this.
That’s a great spacious tent.
2 porkchops and 1roll lighter than yesterday.....😉

It uses a stove jack which is made from a silicone/fiberglass material that doesn’t melt.
38.1 lbs?
That must be the hot tent set up you told me about; Very impressive Devin!
Sure is! So fun!

Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year. 48lbs.
38.25lbs, very nice set up with the long hot tent. 👍
Thanks, and 38 is a few pounds off
Beautiful area and awesome tent/stove!
Thanks!
Nice Job man, it was a fun trip. We need to get out again, i have some new gear for winter trips.
That hot tent looked awesome dude! I bet your pack weight was 23 lbs
we're looking at getting this tent. Or maybe the Megahorn…. Great vid
The Camping Canuck either would be a solid choice.
Love the camp and stove. I guess the pack is....47.5lbs haha!
37.6 lbs that's my finally answer. Love the videos.
Great times!!!! 39.75 lbs :)

33.5lbs cool stove and tent!
Close, and thanks!
I think it weighs 41.2 lbs.
Nice first lite jacket...count me in as subbed
Glen Hayhoe I’ve enjoyed it! Thanks!
I bet the dude who bailed at night was sleeping on the tent side opposite of the stove :)
Ha ha, nope. He bailed cause he had kidney stones!
@@BackcountryExposure ouch. Sorry to hear. Hope he recovered ok. Jokes aside - how is the heat distribution in this tent? I suspect it gets hot near the stove and freezing on the opposite side
Danger Tree behind the tent. One windstorm. ......
Nice 👌 tent ⛺😊

Lets go
will that stove heat up both ends of the tent?
I was thinking the same thing
Yeah, but obviously warmer around the stove.
@@BackcountryExposure I bought this tent and used it this weekend. I added an eco fan to the stove. It kept both sides of the tent evenly warm
Dude, how about sparks from the pipe? you will have a leaky tent
I'm assuming you guys split the weight up and had already eaten the food so 26 pounds 11 oz.
Great video and a hell of a nice camping stove. How do you know where you can camp for free and without getting in trouble?
That is a beautiful location. We’re on the Wasatch front as well. Are you willing to share where you went because that is amazing.
Shingle Creek area.
What is the size (height) of the inner blue poles? Thanks
Nice set up. 36lbs
Thats a beautiful area. What mountain range/forest are you in?
Anthony's Outdoors this is in the Western Uinta Mountains
The weight of your backpack is 53 lbs. 14 oz.

Nice video, I 'm too late for guessing the weight of your pack but I'm interested in this '' hot tent''. What is the effect of having a wood stove inside regarding to the condensation ? Is there more condensation, less ? Adrien
It's a single wall tent, so yeah you'll have condensation. It can be managed just like any single wall tent with proper ventilation.
I'm looking to buy a tent and hope you could advise since you seem to have used a lot. Overwhelmed by it. For sure more winter trips need to happen!
That looks amazing. Seems like a great way to do the winter camp
How warm does it get in that tent on that particular day? I will be doing my first hot tent camp next weekend.
How did it go for you?
Very interested in this tent, there’s a few videos of it but none show the pack size, is that the full tent packed at 1.43? Cheers
Yes that’s the pack size
Great vid! I’m gunna guess, 38.3lbs
Did you build the stove or did you buy it? if bought could you let me know where from and the name of it.......... looks neat...
I got it from Luxe Hiking Gear. It’s the 3W Titanium Stove.
46lbs?
what kind of material is made of the point of the tent where the chimney touches?
Just curious - Is this the same trip CampFires & Coffee went on on Dec 2019?
Yes, it would have been!
47 lbs seems right for gear, probably 57 for UA-camr and food extras.
40 Lbs
I'm guessing that your pack weighs in at 54 lbs. where did you guys camp?
Dustin Peay west uinta mountains.
Have a question about what kind of Stovepipe is that? I'm trying to look for something small and compact Like that.
Teddy chaney it came with the stove. It’s titanium and rolls up. 3W Stove from Luxe Hiking Gear
What is the camp stove?
Weallmatter gator Williams it’s the 3W Titanium Stove from Luxe Hiking Gear
I love that little stove!
Does the camp stove keep the whole inside of the tent warm?
ThomasVMan yeah, we had it as warm as 70° inside the tent.
Sure, that was totally salt and pepper, I believe you.
😂😂😂

62lbs weight of your bag.. by the way its nice view for your video...really like it bro.
Thank you!
35 to 45 liters
Why no floor covering?
How is that twin peak working out
J Neal it’s amazing! Totally worth it.
I have the hexpeak xl and it was awesome on an elk hunt this year, crazy winds and snow. Bought the so med stove and want more room now. The twin peak seems to be the best choice
65 1/2 pounds is my guess .like the tent.
That tent is sick! Loved the pork chops on the stove.
They were so good! 👊🏻
Only 46 pounds? LoL looked like a great time!
Thanks buddy, 33.7lb
32 on the pack....hi great vid
I like your hot tent I think your pack is 44 lb
Curious how muddy the ground within the hot tent gets when it thaws out?
Brandon Snow depends on where you set up. But it does or can get kinda messy. Ground sheets are a must.
@@BackcountryExposure That's what I figured. The warmth definitely seems worth the mess; especially if you can spread some weight around a group.
37 lbs. great vid....as always
39.8 lbs packed in.
40 POUNDS
52 lbs is my guess for pack weight.
That’s the way to cook in the woods. The scenery out there is beautiful.
Do you have to keep putting wood in the stove at night to keep the tent warm in the morning??
