    As far as I’m aware of you ever sell the van you have to get an ‘NICEIC’ approved electrician to check/inspect the electrics like you have to on houses.
    Just to make you aware
    I remember hearing it on wheeler dealers, Ed china was doing a camper conversion

    • @TransitCustomCamper
      @TransitCustomCamper  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Ellis - thanks for the note. I don’t think it’s a legal requirement to have it checked and then a certificate issued like with domestic. However, I would agree 100% to get it checked out by either a “professional” camper conversion company or certified domestic and or auto electrician. We did both 👍 My son has a level 3 diploma in automotive and also his tutors at college helped with advice on install and then checks also. I do think a formal certificate would be a good idea though to be honest? Not quite sure why they don’t? Would give piece of mind for buyers, sellers and convertors alike 👍

    thanks for posting Dave. I'm shortly going to start my conversion too. few Q's. How you finding the transit as a base. my head says ford but my heart says VW!. Also, did the kitchen pod come as a off the shelf unit or fid you built them from scratch?
    lastly, the wiring is the one bit that scares me a bit. was it difficult to get everything working? I'm considering the Devon camper assembled loom. thanks, Steve.

      Hey Steve - thanks for checking out the videos! Transit has been great as base van no issues and drives really well. We did also look at VW’s but at the time the Custom was a bit cheaper and we had a bit of a budget to work to 👍 The kitchen furniture was flat pack and just had to assemble. On the wiring… yes the same for me was my biggest worry initially… but I got a kit from Wired Campers and it was too difficult to pull tinted and all working fine 👍 we had it checked over after too to make sure. @TransitCustomCamper  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Tom 👍 Thanks for the comment & checking out the video. I got the units from a company called Alpine Leisure. They are MDF units which I know are not to everyone’s taste but we had a bit of a budget to work to and we happy enough with them… link is below 👇 www.alpineleisure.co.uk/MDF_Fridge_Kitchen_Unit_Basic/p5574028_19638775.aspx
      On the electrics yes I did this after the insulation and carpet. This was as I planned to install electrics in rear wardrobe and just have wires either running behind units. A lot of people I have seen do a first fix of the wiring before which seem to be the most “common” approach. Good luck with the build 👍
