I had the pleasure of meeting Sam Foose several times. He and his wife lived close by and I would see him around town from time to time. Our town would have a car show every year and Chip would often show up with a car and meet and greet people at a booth they would set up to support their progeria charity. Wonderful people.....the whole family!
my father was a Mac man in 1980 up and after a bad accident my mom got in to he took his personal Mac tools and opened a repair shop and those tools and his hands kept food on the table After he passed I wouldn't let anyone touch his Mac box It's in my car shop that I use all the time Chip is the best
It's all about the fine details that are the difference between just getting it done and getting it done correctly and making it look both nice and finished.
pure instinct and years of watching his Dad and working his way up the knowledge tree..note that he does not measure..pure genius and admirable..love the Foose ideals..
I never would have thought the body work and paint would add weight to the dragster to make it heavier wow. I enjoyed the stories Chip. You are and still is the best person show that ever came from Discovery Channel period. I’ve watched you since the very first episode of Overhaulling. Eddie Patterson,Silverstreet, South Carolina.
Mr. Chip Foose! I just wanted to say, that I watched every overhaulin episode! I also want to say that I admire your work and also your family values and your kindness towards others! In my dreams, I have you shipping my 2009 Ford flex to California from Florida where I live, to turn it into a rear wheel drive supercharged coyote with a bunch of horsepower version of the Eleanor Shelby GT500.! With the same color paint, but with ghost stripes instead of black stripes. And the same design, wheels but in 22 inch wrapped with Michelin pilot sport tires! And an awesome magna flow exhaust system coming out of the sides just like the Eleanor! That is a dream of mine for sure! Maybe one day if I get lucky we will meet, and you will make my dream come true! You definitely make a lot of peoples come true.! Thank you again, for your kindness and your values! There are very few people on this planet, like you! Please don’t ever change! I had to stop for a minute, cause I’m crying while I’m writing this. ☮️💜😊 Those emojis mean, peace, love, and good happiness stuff!
Hi Chip. So short sighted of "Snap On " . So hope some of your original tools stayed with you. I still have my original "Proto " planishing hammer l bought 54 years ago "Snap On " only arrived in around 1971/2 and they were always expensive but the quality was undeniable . Sadly in later years the quality dropped but the prices didn't ! Thankyou Chip .
I also watched Overhaulin back in the day. I then met someone that had worked with Chip Foose and he told me that Chip is as good and genuine as he appeared on the show.
My dad Had Mac since i was a kid in the early 80s.. I laughed when i heard the name snapon.. it sounded cheap.. But i was wrong..still love mac though.. it reminds me of my father..i inherited my dads mac tools too
As soon as you began to talk about how you asked to paint one of Kalitta’s old school, instantly I thought they’d never have let you due to the weight, so I’m very surprised when you said they allowed this 😂
HI VERY NICE HELMET !! YOU DO GREAT WORK ON WHAT YOU TOUCH !! I WISH YOU COULD DO MY 1964 CHEVY IMPALA !! ??? I DONT HAVE ALL THE MONEY TO DO IT !! I WOULD PUT A LS7 WITH A 6 SPEED IN IT IT A 327 WITH A 4 SPEED CAR BENCH SEAT CAR . THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO ON TV AND SHOWS . TODD FROM MICHIGAN .
Is there a reason why Kalitta couldn't provide color codes for all the colors on the car? Not trying to take anything away from your skill, just seems like it would be easy to match that way.
You need to retro mod something Toyota. I’d prefer it be a Land Cruiser of some vintage. I’ve got a 91 and a 94 or my 2013 Tundra you can Overhaul for me 🤣
Tires space between each area covered on the face of the rim connective stalized metal so it looks like circles or let it brace itself in deep metal For circled only

Chip is the best
I love the way it goes from a dull sanded shell to an eye popping shine after the clear, so good.
I really enjoyed the stories that you shared Chip. It brought the helmet to life.
You can tell Lanzini is a good dude! Good to see him still hanging out with Chip 👍🏻
Your patience and commitment to detail is incredible. That explains the multiple Riddler awards. Beautiful work.

Cool stories about Mac and also the dragster. And as always quality work by Mitch!

So true. Relationships are so important. Great job on the helmet.
I'm surprised there's such a 'freehand' nature to the color match. Love the shading and use of carbon in some areas. Very cool.
The dragster body story is just hilarious. What did you do? I made it perfect.
Chip is a Master Class of just about everything Hot Rod / Custom
"The worst part of the job, that's your reputation." - Chip Foose .. Wise words
After Foose Mitch is my favourite automotive painter.
Chips paint must be good luck! Doug is having a great season. He won on Sunday for his third win of the season and is in the points lead.

The person who painted the car probably hand matched an old cell phone photo of a helmet that they didn't have a paint code to.

Notice the minimum paint this time. You don't have to tell Chip twice! 😊
