it would be possible and an unbelievable amount of work. I bet that a marble wrist watch would be such a novelty item that, if marketed correctly in the watch world, it'd sell for a huge amount
You really make this look SO easy, but to anyone in the comments who are wondering, designing a working machine like this is SO hard. Great work, cant wait to see the next one
I'm guessing you've already thought about this but it might be worth using a geneva mechanism for actuating the chain, this way you could transform continuous rotation from the one motor into a stop-and-go motion you need for the marbles to feed properly, if designed less than ideally you might even get a little shake of the chain when it stops which might aid feeding
When I saw the overflow ramp I was like “that’s not gonna work as is.. but I’m sure Ivan knows that, he’s much smarter than me!” A few minutes later as marbles spill all over the shop floor I felt smug for a split second until I remembered that I’m a moron who couldn’t assemble a hot wheels track much less this beautiful monstrosity. I apologize for my momentary smugness. It won’t happen again for at least another week or so.
Ivan, I stopped the video before it started, just to say I really enjoy your enthusiasm and humour. You bring a spark of light into my world. Thank you. Edit: A gloriously stupid goal while the rest of The World goes to hell in a handbasket. Ivan, you keep me smiling while I walk the black dog. Again, thank you.
Consider using a Geneva wheel mechanism for timing and belt positioning. You can then turn the motor at a constant speed and get the belt moving and stopping in predictable steps.
You should totally hook it up to Wintergatan’s marble machine to play a chime every hour like a cuckoo clock 😂 That would be the ultimate collab of the century
Well, there are other marble related projects that linger on a strangely winded road… and never get anywhere. You are chugging along, doing your milestones. Hats off to you.
I never wonder what takes so long between videos because I can relate to the process. As you know, this includes, but is not limited to: new idea, design (sometimes more than once), print, assemble, test, repeat until it works. And that doesn’t include filming and editing! It’s looking great, and I enjoy watching these updates as much as I am excited to see the finished product! Again, great job!
After the first version of this clock was completed, I thought it would be IMPOSSIBLE to add a seconds display. Now, I am convinced you can do it. When this thing is fully done, synchronized, and reliable it would be right at home in any major science museum.
I'm always amazed how big these marble clocks end up being. After you get this one finished, you can sync it with the other one, so the seconds can count.
I can't imagine how much filament you have used! Man, it's crazy to think where this project started and how much effort you have put into this. Every step has been insanely cool.
This is a bit dumb, but this "make something" at the end of every video encouraged me to finally buy a 3dprinter and start to build my lame ideas. Now I have a 3d printed coffin for a cockroach that died near my bed. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration!
WOW, I continue to be amazed by this project. I can not imagine how many hours you have dedicated to this. At this point, you have to finish. Keep up the incredible work!
Every time I see another of the marble clock videos, I can only think of the portal games and the huge amount of design it requires to get all the boxes for all tests at the right time. 😂😂😂
So I've been following this project since it was born. And every video is absolutely fascinating. But, let me tell you, I cannot wait for the final project-ending B-roll footage! It's going to be so epic!!
Its not even solely the engineering side of this thats so impressive (which it is) but how you manage to make these mad scientist esque creations look so damn good!? Youre a mad genius artist lol
If it were any other channel I would agree but with him, it will be 10X bigger using kickballs not marbles. this man always goes big. However, fixing the problems part is a constant.
It's funny to see how work with marbles consumes sanity and lifespan of the creators😅. It's me or Ivan seems much older tha when the project starts... 🤔. Anyway. Very good job! Can't wait to see next video 😊
This is amazing, and I love this series, I had an idea that I'm sure you already had, but: When the marbles go down the exit ramp at the top, they are already sorted, so maybe feed them directly back into the machine in a way that you don't have to sort them again.
Yeah, I've also commented this before on some previous videos. There is a lot of effort, space, and time spent sorting marbles only to repeat the process infinitely when the work is thrown out every time the clock cycles...
To prevent the marbles from going between the links, just put a tape there. I'd say bathroom PVC tape is the perfect fit, it's designed to bend in the middle.
Each video has such great progress, beautiful parts that fit well and serve their purpose. Must take a lot of time and effort, but the video makes it seem so easy! It's so satisfying to watch!
That was awesome! I really love the high-capacity belt idea to make sure that the marbles always get refilled! Also, your approach to move the elevator quickly and then stop it as it aligns with the output gates of the marble selector is brilliant! Although using a stepper motor and programming to align the belts with the gates is functional, have you considered using a geneva drive to do so? It produces intermittent rotary motion from a continuous rotary input that seems to be exactly what you’re looking for with your belt alignment problem! I think it might help with running the entire mechanism off of one motor! (Fun fact: old film cameras used a geneva drive to convert the continuous rotary motion of the hand crank into intermittent rotary motion, where a single frame of film would be aligned with the camera’s viewport and held still for a moment before progressing and moving to the next frame, which is almost exactly the same scenario as your marble loader!)
I can't wait for the wrist watch version!!
We need to all write this in the comments when he finishes this one
it would be possible and an unbelievable amount of work. I bet that a marble wrist watch would be such a novelty item that, if marketed correctly in the watch world, it'd sell for a huge amount
for hulk?
Bro you gonna make him have an infarctus
He can use airsoft BBs instead of marbles
so invested in this video series. cant believe the last episode was already two months ago
True, but after seeing what monstrosity he designed and built, I can very much see why he was busy for 2 months. That is a lot of work!
At least he posts faster than _my mechanics._ I'm so invested in his car restauration but it takes so long to be ✨️perfect✨️
@@Jorge.ALXNDRha I think I'll be showing that car to my grandchildren (my son is 3)
he's also invested in this series, probably to the tune of like $10,000 between filament and time... ouch
You really make this look SO easy, but to anyone in the comments who are wondering, designing a working machine like this is SO hard. Great work, cant wait to see the next one
Marble team!
I was thinking about you only man😂
one comment from martin and the marble men will be assembled
Every time I watch one of these, I think it can't get crazier. But then it does. Your design skills are absolutely incredible!!!
"Throw in some marbles and see what breaks" is the go to for every marble machine. Keep going Iván!
"So, I'll swap this ramp for this one and see what breaks next" is a quote that I can live by.
The clock not only tells time, but also reminds you every second about the hearing damage that it's actively causing. Nice!
This is currently my favorite series on UA-cam. I watch every video as soon as it comes out. The engineering here is honestly inspiring.
Please don’t ever let this series end.
Sure, the next step will be to display tenths of a second
Go watch wintergatan if you wanna see a neverending marble engineering project
When I saw the overflow ramp I was like “that’s not gonna work as is.. but I’m sure Ivan knows that, he’s much smarter than me!”

At the beginning of the project, he had normally cared for hair. By now he has just given up and given in to pulling it out. Love it 1000%, one of us.
btw, "nobody's ferpect" is such a spanish inner joke, love it even more.
not only it's becoming an engineering masterpiece, but it's also beautiful, the red and the black and the writings here and there... a thing of beauty
Ivan, I stopped the video before it started, just to say I really enjoy your enthusiasm and humour. You bring a spark of light into my world. Thank you.

Watching this thing grow is just so great :D
I enjoy watching people descend into madness. It's good to have someone there with me.
Martin: My MM3 needs perfect timing for the instruments!
Ivan:
Ivan: Hold my marb........ beer.😂😂😂
This reminds me of Marble Machine 2 where it just keeps getting crazier and crazier and more interesting to watch. Love this series!
I'm actually so excited to see this project finished
"More marbles" is the answer to every question!
Preach!
You should totally hook it up to Wintergatan’s marble machine to play a chime every hour like a cuckoo clock 😂
That would be the ultimate collab of the century
Well, there are other marble related projects that linger on a strangely winded road… and never get anywhere. You are chugging along, doing your milestones. Hats off to you.
Every one of these video I'm just so impressed; the design, the craftsmanship, the patience. Unreal project can't wait to see what's next
15:00 "... and see what breaks next!"
Words to live by.
My jaw hits the floor harder with every new edition to your marble clock! Well done Ivan! This is truly becoming a piece of engineering art!
Loving this series 🙂

This is one of my favourite series of all time. Thanks for continuing to keep your own perspective and philosophy and humour!
I cannot wait to see a collaboration Ivan and Martin (the marble machine) :)
it's fun to see two different youtubers trying to build two different marble machines and redesigning everything several times
I admire your persistence for this subject!
The black and red aesthetic is very nice! Great job with this project. I love it!
You just make everything sound so simple. The amount of engineering involved is mind-boggling.
Wow, almost a year long project! Thanks for taking us through it!
Another astounding update! The amount of time and care and precision that goes into every episode is remarkable.
Your neighbours must love you
you have officially gone insane!!
This thing just keeps getting crazier and crazier!
His sanity left the chat a long time ago. This is madness. I love it.
Your sense of design(engineering) and ascetics(art) is just fantastic!!
I can't wait for the next episode!
Between you, the color picture marble guy, and Jelle’s marble racing, there’s an entire marble universe.
Brute force and overkill. The best solution!
So totally stoked for this series.
This has to be one of my favorite episodes. You made a ton of progress and the final look of it is sick! Can't wait for everything to be synchronized!
My favorite video series right now
I'm always amazed how big these marble clocks end up being. After you get this one finished, you can sync it with the other one, so the seconds can count.

You made my day
Love the saying: "Lets see what breaks (next)!". Gonna steal that
This is madness on it's peak. Please don't stop!
WOW, I continue to be amazed by this project. I can not imagine how many hours you have dedicated to this. At this point, you have to finish. Keep up the incredible work!
So happy this series is continuing. First ever series I’ve actually been following as it comes out. Well done!
This project keeps getting even more complex.
Wow, what a journey. Good job on all the work!
The time it must take in cad that you don't even show. You are a mad man.
You are excellent, this clock is excellent. I love your enthusiasm and sarcasm. It's a perfect balance. Keep going
This project is a work of art! It should be in a museum or art exhibit when it's done.
I always have the goofiest smile watching this. The unhinged genius is so adorable!
I love the overengineering that goes into this design.
Every time I see another of the marble clock videos, I can only think of the portal games and the huge amount of design it requires to get all the boxes for all tests at the right time. 😂😂😂
You handle setbacks like an absolute legend
It's hard not to be impressed by this guys tenacity , most people would have smashed it to pieces by now 🤣
Lol, I was just thinking yesterday we haven't had an update in a while! Incredible build!!!
So looking forward to the milliseconds version! Go Ivan!
Youre a mad genius artist lol
this continues to be the most ridiculous and interesting build I've watched on here
yep, that's a massive clock right there
This page randomly came up on my homepage like a year ago and it feels like I’m watching one piece with all of the “to be continued”
More brackets than an episode of 'Binky' 🤣
That's impossible
Cant wait for you to finish, and then make everything again 10x smaller and fix all the problems that creates :D
That's a wicked seed to plant in Ivan's gorgeous brain. But it would be fantastic to see...
If it were any other channel I would agree but with him, it will be 10X bigger using kickballs not marbles. this man always goes big. However, fixing the problems part is a constant.
I think Ivan has become the "Marble Clock Guy"!
The evolution is so fun to watch! Thanks for sharing this project with us!
13:24 the confidence of an engineer
It's funny to see how work with marbles consumes sanity and lifespan of the creators😅. It's me or Ivan seems much older tha when the project starts... 🤔. Anyway. Very good job! Can't wait to see next video 😊
I'm always chuffed when you post new content Iven. Thanks!
the cinematography of the b roll is definitely the best in all of 3d printer youtube
This is amazing, and I love this series, I had an idea that I'm sure you already had, but: When the marbles go down the exit ramp at the top, they are already sorted, so maybe feed them directly back into the machine in a way that you don't have to sort them again.

WOW! Ivan, you are one of the most diabolical makers i have seen. my mind is blown each video
To prevent the marbles from going between the links, just put a tape there. I'd say bathroom PVC tape is the perfect fit, it's designed to bend in the middle.
I will show this to future generations and say it is what we used before flip clock displays.
Hey Ivan you’re the best!! Finally an update on the Marble clock!
You and the Engineezy channel ought to do a collab on a marble machine! Both of you have really good marble machines and marble machine ideas.
just wanted to let you know I love this series and I've been watching it since 3 or 4 videos before the finish of the first Marble clock. Keep Going!
When I first saw the marble clock, I never expected there to be a follow up with a seconds counter
Each video has such great progress, beautiful parts that fit well and serve their purpose. Must take a lot of time and effort, but the video makes it seem so easy!
It's so satisfying to watch!
I feel bad cuz I feel like I'm responsible for you going through all of this, like it's some suffering, but it's so good to watch. Keep up. Love ya.
This is only Pt.6? I feel like I've been watching this for years. So invested in this build! 🙃
Love this project. The final design will fill half a room, but still gets a 👍
youre learning all the things that wintergatan has learned. specifically working with marbles suuuuuucks
OK so now it went beyond crazy! man this is pure gold! keep doing what you are doing, this is amazing.
You NEVER cease to IMPRESS ME!!!
MAD GENIUS you are!!! LOL!!! (which is awesome!!)
I love hearing the 3D printer sounds in the background of these videos
Awesome Ivan. Don't get those marbles in the floor!
Your ingenuity and passion is amazing.
That was awesome! I really love the high-capacity belt idea to make sure that the marbles always get refilled! 1:20 It’s kind of like you want it to work like…clockwork. 😂
Your perseverence is impressive.
By far the most ridiculous thing on UA-cam, I can’t believe the time you have spent on this and I can’t stop watching.
It's like Christmas every time this dude posts a new video!
