@@DavidMartin-ne8jw I totally disagree having watched the slow motion replay. It was not a punch that put him down, Sander's right hand pushes him and if you look closely at their feet Vitali trips over him. Not sure whether Sanders did it deliberately or not, I think not because he probably just meant to shift Klitschko into a better position to throw his next punch, but it was not a knockdown. Referee called it right. I was impressed with Sanders on revisiting this fight though, his punches were quick and were shooting in from awkward angles, causing Vitali all sorts of problems.
Lewis uppercut bro that definitely hurt more. But yes sanders k'od his brother so he didn't underestimate him. R.i.p sanders took a bullet like a true warrior for daughters safety

Such a sad way to die. My God he was 1 of South Africa's most courageous boxers, along with Brian Mitchell and Gerry Coetzee. It was a shocking attack.
This is one of my favourite fights. Sanders showed so much heart to hang in there and was always dangerous.
I like both Klitschko brothers. Both consistently acted respectfully and modestly during their long, successful careers even when, at times, their opponents behaviour was disgraceful. They did their 'talking' in the ring.
I also have a soft spot for Sanders.
By all accounts, he was a really nice bloke, and to win a world title at the tail end of his career was heart warming to see.

I must say, this is one of the most underrated fights every! What a tension!! What movements by Vitaly avoiding Corries blows. I saw this one live back then and I nearly got a heart attack! Vitaly is a hero, he faced every opponent with open visor. I wish he hadn't been cut that serious in his Lewis fight, I think he would have knocked Lennox down in the later rounds...
Siralfredramsey I think he had the beating of Lennox and he knew it. Lennox turned down the offer of a re-match. They said it was over the allocation of the fight purse, but I don't buy that story. I have tremendous respect for Lennox Lewis as a great champion, who himself came back from defeat 2 times to win his belts back again. But here against Klitschko, he was on the decline. His best days were behind him.

Согласен ! И ещё Корри реально жестко бил ! Если присмотреться он бросает кулаки как камни в соперника . Забрасывает камнями ! Такие удары очень трудно заметить . И они просто разрушают .!!! И ноги у него под тазом очень лёгкие прекрасный манёвр и баланс . Виталий грамотно перевёл бой в поздние раунды и выиграл . Учёл ошибки Володи . Кличко очень умные парни что касается тактики боя . Странно что Володя недооценил Корри перед боем мне увидел его удар и манёвр . Есть видео где Виталий раскапывает про удар Корри и говорит что сильнее никто не бил . Не зря удар Корри в то время считался самым сильным ударом в тяжёлой категории . Вечная память Корри ! Ты был реально крут!

If I took just that salvo that ended this fight from Vitali, I would be extremely dead - how Sanders even stayed on his feet is beyond me. Corrie had such heart, and such a jaw! The Lion-Hearted Sniper, with one of the biggest left hands of all time.

Сразу видно, что ты эксперт в боксе. Рубится с Корри в первых раундах - посмотри, на результат младшего Кличко. Он выбрал правильную тактику и потому победил. Измотал Сандерса вначале и не подставлялся практически.

Corrie had a punches chance against any big heavyweight. He had amazing hands. He couldn't beat any great heavyweight by decision, but he was capable of landing a bomb and ko'ing anyone.

Corrie Sanders could run 0-100 Meters 11.2 second's ,played off a golf handicap of 2 on the brink of heavyweight greatness for years always just fell short then given one last chance he pulls it off beats the great Wladimir then gave he's brother one hell of a fight. I think only fitness let him down against Vitali, then gets shot and killed in a night club throwing himself in the firing Line to protect he's child. If there hasn't been a movie done on Corrie's life I believe there should be he's definitely inspired me

У них за 2 месяца перед боем начинаются жёсткие тренеровки и он прекрасно знал как ведёт себя его тело, на момент боя ему было уже 38
У него установа была вырубить Кличка в первых раундах, так как в поздних он знал что сдохнет
Поэтому и попёр в первых раундах как танк

Банально дотянуть раунд-другой это много чего значит. Здохнуть в 11 раунде, или дотянуть до конца 12, разница огромная. И не легко рассчитать весь путь, есть много факторов об этом уже сказано - пересказано. Одного волшебного слова "профессионал" здесь не достаточно. Посмотри как в футболе профессионалы забивают себе голы, или с пяти метров бьют мимо пустых ворот.
This is the difference between Vitali and Vlad. The chin, and the strategy. Vlad charged ahead, relying on his power... but he couldn't avoid punches, couldn't handle them, and fell. Vitali fought smart, absorbed punches, and then slowly picked Sanders to pieces. In fact it's tough to watch the end of this.
Great fight! Vitali was awesome and Sanders landed some bombs in a heroic effort! Sanders was also an excellent champion in his own right. His destruction of Wladimir was legendary! RIP champ
What a chin Vitali had on him..counted atleast 5 clean left hooks from Sanders and he still stayed on his feet. Corrie had a scary left too, real heavyweight power. Absolutely destroyed Wladmir.

Corrie was a great boxer, may he RIP. This is one of my favorite fights. I love Vitali but I was rooting for Corrie too just because he was so tough and determined.

Sanders was the only one to give Vitali Klitschko trouble besides Lewis who he was beating before that massive cut. Sanders one of the most powerful heavyweights. I'm not sure if Wladimir would have won a rematch..

Remember he was in kick boxing before.Therefore he knows body, foot works, and his gifted counter punches. He can come with both sides of jabs, upper cuts, hooks, double jabs, double upper cuts. In heavy height boxing , apart from him who can do like him?Watching him boxing is for me real real entetaing,joyful and learning.Sad he had to retire.Lennox must know he was lucky.He was clever not coming for rematch.

People often generalise about the Klitschko brothers, but i don't think they're much alike as fighters and I way prefer to watch Vitali fight. I just find him amazing, he has incredible reflexes, he looks unprotected but he's so hard to hit. And on the other hand I haven't seen a fighter whose defences Vitali can't get through. Sanders was obviously a challenge to Vitali, he is relentless in this fight, but Vitali adapted amazingly and beat him down.
In all fairness, lennox was way past his best when he fought vitali. Vitali was clearly ahead on the scorecards but it was hardly an easy fight for him.

Glad Corrie got a belt. He was a fierce fighter with an incredible left hand. He seemed to peak right at the end of his career. Very good fighter. Vitali was able to survive his early onslaught and basically wear him down. True Championship fight that had a feeling of tension throughout the fight and even watching the highlights.

It was payback after he avenged his Chris Byrd loss. Klitschko brothers are something else. Wladimir rebounded himself convincingly twice with wins over Sam Peter and Lamon Brewster.

Holy smokes, I have never heard of Corrie Sanders. and my bloodline is from Cape Town, South Africa. How this opponent took Corrie's left hand is beyond me. It was like, the biggest punch I have ever seen anyone deliver. Crazy, and boy could he take one. Movie here for sure.

Also i heard Corries face was reconstructed, metal plates where implanted where face bones broke off. That was brawl but at the same time that was the best fight ive ever seen, never get tired of watching it. Two real fighters, two real characters.

It was very rare that anyone actually staggered Vitali, just shows how much speed and power was in Sanders left hand. Might have been as deadly as Lennox's right.

+Ozren Milanov Very solid counter punches with quick feet. Dude was dangerous for anyone inside 6 rounds. Doesn't show that Wlad is bad just more shows how much better his brother is and that Sanders himself was talented.
Vitali's size and reach ultimately won out over Sander's perhaps greater boxing ability. And . . . Snader's refused to clinch and rest from hits which was noble and stupid.

Conditioning. Corrie Sanders was so accurate here and my goodness how did he take some of those shots. This was epic and the better fighter won, but Corrie had alot of heart. Klitchko head movement here was epic as was his power. Great fight.

What a great brawl with two of the hardest hitting heavyweights!
Sanders never clinched to recover from direct hits. He exhibited an old school purity of contest - like an Olympian. He almost had Klitch. Sanders is one of technically best boxers I've seen. It's surprising he didn't rise higher having demolished the Klitch the Younger - who himself is one of the great technicians despite the fact that he does't have a personality. His victory over Ray Mercer was phenomenal. Sanders should have become a boxing coach as he really understood it.
Personally I think that Corrie Sanders would've been considered an all time great had he worked as hard as the Klitschko's did. He had the power, those lanky arms, height, and the natural fighting ability but not so much the technique, and the conditioning.
Dagaan Galakticos I truly believe that he showed us all that George Foreman from the 70's would've won by TKO against Vitali sometime before the 7th round
***** That's irrelevant to anything, but 70's Foreman could beat most anybody. It wouldn't be a bad thing to lose to 70's Foreman. Vitali would give him a hell of a fight though if he didn't win.

It's relevant to boxing history and to ranking Vitali Klitschko on an an all-time great list. I can see the case made for VK, trouble is, I don't VK has the defensive skills necessary to defeat Foreman.
Frankly, VK has an iron chin and great stamina, but nobody can stand there and trade with Foreman and expect to survive past 5 rounds. Frazier, Lyle, Wepner, and Chuvalo all learned that the hard way. Ali barely was able to withstand Foreman's early assault, and he only did that by parrying, blocking, and ducking many of Foreman's punches. That and Ali masterfully threw fast combinations to temporarily disrupt Foreman's rhythm. VK moves well for a big guy, but nowhere near as fast as a prime Young moved to beat Foreman. Plus, VK never puts his gloves by his face and would absorb overhand rights from Foreman at will.
At least VK would show that he's a warrior as he did against Lewis. In most cases, boxing fans criminally underrate VK. I think he'd beat Frazier, Tyson, and Liston imho

Corey Sanders was a very very good fighter and always atleast held his own with the top fighters he fought. He made a good account of himself in heavyweight history and Vitali, what can I say? One of the toughest heavyweights of all time!
@what. nbba keep in mind that he knocked out wladamir in 2 rounds before wladamir had Emanuel stewart training him. Wladamir was much more well rounded by the time he fought joshua, he was a few years past his prime but still very good ane more well rounded by then.
