My fave email newsletter is the Celo List, a local announcement/bulletin board weekly. I live in a small community and it's a great way of staying in touch and knowing what's happening. The info is quality. It's just text. Its easy to consume.

QOTD: I'm really enjoying Pocket's "Some things you might be interested" email blast. Everyone probably gets the same content, but if they're the most popular articles being read right now then it's a good starting point. Good variety and good articles. I like the variety instead really niche.

The one strong advantage of college education is networking. Alumni connections are an opportunity to show your skills (that you've likely developed on your own) to powerful investors and employers in the industry. Sure, you can cold call all you want, but having those already positive connections can prevent you from living dirty for months and months. I agree, we young adults/college students should be prepared to rough it as much as it takes to get where we want to be, but college networking is a means to an end, especially for those who were not blessed with your natural talent!

Hey Gary! Love the show! REALLY appreciate all the quality content. This episode spoke to me quite significantly as I'm a university student studying business, who has been questioning the importance of a degree for quite some time. I think it's time to make some changes.

Joann's Fabrics and Crafts . . . they send out coupons with every email. One note here though . . . they seem to be changing the amount of emails they are sending out so I may be changing the thought soon. They are focusing on sending real-time coupons in their app. But not as easy for me to plan my purchases.

Mike Reinolds (Physical Therapy/Human Performance World) Gives out a ton of great content that is usually practical and applicable to my own clients and can be implemented in some way that same day. It's also varied and unpredictable, I un-subscribed to a lot of email lists and podcasts because the "content" was recycled. At a certain point I don't want to hear the same 10 basic principles anymore, I want to dive deeper and get more specific. Most email lists tend to just focus on new business, not growing and retaining their existing followers.

QOTD: Monoprice, Massdrop, and NewEgg Flash. Deal based. Any list that I have subscribed to in the past, that was content based, I usually ended up deleting all the emails. They get spammy, and the content progressively became uninteresting.
Thanks for the first 8 minutes. I enjoy pissed off Gary, don't want to see it all the time I just like it. Also, thanks for beating the "College is a racket" dead horse. That needs to be said by more people. I went to college for a year and realized how much of a waste of time it was. I went through high school knowing it was a waste of time. I enrolled in a skill based design and front end web-dev program, that was a fucking waste of time. Thankfully I can manage the debt that I have, and it isn't near the national average. If I could go back, I would never had spent money on any kind of college program, or skilled program.
Also, if you launch a Vaynermedia in the Detroit area I'd work for you, or at least try my hardest to do so.
    Keep up the good work.

His email comes out once a month and gives a brief synopsis of 5-6 books. He includes his opinion (good or bad). Often times if he didn't love the book he recommends another title in the same category. The genre's selected range across all fiction and nonfiction. June's email included "How Adam Smith Can Change Your Life", a Howard Hughes biography and the novel "What Makes Sammy Run." I will typically read one of his selections each month.

I've only just started following you from Tai Lopez and I think his email list about book of the day is good

GARY!!! I am a lurker. I saw some of your content prior to July 2016 and since the Team Beachbody Summit I cannot pick up enough of what you're putting down. My favorite email list I am on right now is Darren Daily. I enjoyed his book The Compound Effect, and being a stay at home mom and aspiring health/fitness coach/community volunteer/leader/home chef/Virtual Assistant OR just a kick ass house mom/wife until I get a few of the kiddos OUT of the house (I got 5) to have more time to build SOME darn thing (just being honest)...I am saving up my laundry dollars and cents to get BOTH your books. I would download them on audible but I truly hate apps and the screen sucks to look at for hours from 1-4AM which is when I have my quiet time to get as much ISH done as I can (plus I love tangible items as I feel more connected). I am reverse engineering (haha right) my #AskGaryVee show takeaways and "AHA, NAOMI!!" moments by watching your most recent to the earliest shows and this is BY FAR the one I have sucked up the MOST content value for my coaching business and "can can" attitude to NOT be in that 99% you spoke about at my Summit. Thanks for being awesome, real, raw, and amazing. I'll be sure to leave a comment on EVERY FLIPPIN' #AskGaryVee show from here on out, and keep sharing your ISH on my wall. You Rock!!
