GREAT point on stepping back to look at the overall success over 5 years rather than getting down about the small losses. It's so surreal how many GREAT things happen in that time with a business! Thanks, Gary!!
Love what you share in regards to playing towards the long-game and keeping a "net" perspective. I think it's important first that people understand what THEIR goals are for 1, 5, 10 years from now. Versus comparing their goals to what they see other people doing around them. Always great listening in. - Josh
#QOTD 1. A little yard work a lot of hustle 2. Periscope Great show G.V. the question from Simon and your response was brilliant. Time to get him on an episode!!!
The last 7 minutes of this show or from Simon's question on, needs to be on it's own. I will share the CRAP out of that all over the internet. I totally agree. I've met people that have changed the course of my life and seem to always be on the defense about social media.
I love the way behind Gary is a birthday party going on, as he talks about team members getting on - Brilliant!! much love going on at VMHQ. Great work culture.
Two great coaches in a single place... Start with the Why is fundamental how I see the world but feel identified with gary communication style. Great Show!!!
Question 1: meeting my models for a photoshoot and an actor to finish a commercial for a local company. Question 2: Wallapop. It's a new, hip, sleek marketplace app. it's free and I have already sold $400+ worth of products through it. it has an in-app chat feature which is awesome because you don't have to give your personal contact info and also makes it much harder for scammers.
Hi Gary, I loved your answer about the 'unforgivable sin'. Currently in a situation where a new member of a team came into the company and commanded 'professional respect' but she won't talk to the people 'beneath' her with any kind of respect, and she talks over everyone in meetings. Ugh.
Great show today. I will be working on getting more orders crafted and shipped the rest of today and Saturday, then thanking first half of Sunday off for swim time and a cookout with the family and finish up an auction Sunday night.
#QOTD: quality time with wife and daughter after two weeks apart. Really digging Beme right now even though it has a ways to go. I think Casey has nailed the authenticity play which is really tough. It feels like it will be really great, now we just have to see if my gut is right!
QOTD: Practicing what I learned during the first week of my internship. I spend most of my time on Slack collaborating with my fellow cohort interns. Other than Slack I'm always using Stack Overflow and Github.
Gary thank you for doing what your doing. I think you are actually the modern philosopher. Like Nitche style so you are the philosopher for this decade.
QOTD1: It's the last few days of summer break so I'm spending time with my parents and kids, eating and going to the pool. QOTD2: Periscope! That thing is exploding in the crafting/scrapbooking world right now. So much good stuff and interaction that missed on Snapchat. Periscope is where it's at. 👌🏼
Good episode, great insights Have a long-term view/vision and not stress out for the frictions in the day to day stuff, period. Try to balance these two in a good way.
QOTD #1: We've had about 17 family members here for most of the month, and they're just starting to drift off homeward. So we'll be enjoying the weekend with family we don't get to spend a lot of time with, BBQ'ing, tipping a few beers or just shooting the breeze. QOTD #2: I've been so busy putting new sites together for clients or for my partner and me, that I haven't had much chance to look at other sites. I've been spending a lot of time looking at Facebook, though, since SOMEBODY (yeah, talkin' to YOU, *****) started touting the benefits of FB demographic data. So I guess FB is the only logical answer for me. Congrats to *****,@matthewchaim and @DHutchinsonRE... enjoy yourselves and make us proud! Gary, awesome idea, bringing in some fans to engineer the show!
Commenting even though this is an old video. Weekend plans are to hustle and hang with family. Latest app I'm into is my own: Ripple (still in development). I truly feel it's going to provide value to people and I can't wait to get it in their hands. Cheers!
Hi Gary Vee team - Just wantet to give you guys props. I have started too use this channel as a means of education and recruitment. When i find prospects that have the qualities and attitudes but not the knowledge and knowhow, I recommend them to follow you guys. This gives me some advantages. 1. If they cant even get through these 100-something videos, the are not up for the job and not right for the job. 2. If they on the other hand DO go through the videos, they will come out the other side not just with knowledge about how to get the know-how, but also a understanding of what it takes in terms of attitude, ambition and dedication. I guess what you guys call the "hustle". Long story short. You are creating great value and I respect you for this. If you are ever in Sweden - Drop by. Drinks on me :)
QOTD: The only new site I've been using heavily lately would be wevideo to edit some videos and audio. Other than that, nothing new. And as usual, the responses to your questions are spot on. I'm loving the net-net success vs failure reference. I believe that is advice that could change a life today.
I am 42 now and you are correct about the connection with friends 10 years after graduation....even friends from childhood. I has been a very good thing...but there are some i wish stayed not connected ....lol
#QOTD I am planning to actually enjoy my weekend without having to stress out about homework as today is my last day until the Fall! I will also be giving a training on Social Media on Saturday morning. And I am enjoying Meerkat right now both watching and streaming.
QOTD 1: I am heading over to Center City Philly to do some networking (woot!) QOTD 2: Sadly...Pinterest! I am painfully late to the game, but i'm obsessed with it! // I love your thoughts on social media. I feel like the 35+ year old crowd is generally more "bah" about it, but it is such a powerful tool to socialize at a larger scale than we have ever seen in history. I am still blown away by how many people ignore it as if its a passing trend! // Love the show, keep it up Gary!
Loved this one!! ESPECIALLY the last question. I've been having an interesting facebook conversation with several friends and family on the subject of "degredation" of communication because of technology. But I actually agree much more with your point of view. And I think technology even allows us to cull the ineffective communication better and faster.
Spent the whole weekend packing up so I can put my condo on the market here in the STL. I just downloaded NoWait app so that I can get my buddy in to a really great seafood restaurants here in the STL, Peacemaker, with a reasonable wait time.
Love when you pulled your wallet out and threw the cash! Badass. Great answer to Simon too! Definitely lots of love for you in Texas. I'll do some market research and send it your way...the market for a 5th VM office here is HUGE, in my opinion (which I'll back up with some Data and research on the competitors)
#QOTD: I was planning to celebrate my victory on the Show and my visit to Vynermedia, damn it! I am happy for the winners though. You guys made it. I have been finding the words to explain the idea that technology is actually helps by humans been in the interaction arena. I realized that I get kind of pissed off when someone try to sell me the idea of disconnecting.
the biggest mistake employees can do: Ok, you talked about rude people, that is a no brainer. But what do you think about disengaged and grumpy people who don't or who don't want to fit into the company culture too much ? How do you deal with them, and is that something that you can fire them for ?
This weekend working and relaxing. Favorite app that has got me excited? Ans - Beme Casey and his team are on to something. Here's my questions to you. Have you used beme? If so, how do you like it and do you think it will be successful?
I've been watching Gary V., Simon Sinek, and Damon Dash videos on a consistent basis as I prepare to launch my brand. I would pay to see these three in a room together.
Working this weekend - finishing a jab for someone I'd really like to do business with - getting some things knocked out of my to-do list and spending time with the family. Just got on Casey Neistat's Beme app and I've been using that - would love to follow your Bemes!
#QOTD 1 - Spending much needed time with the family after being away last weekend. #QOTD 2 - addicted to Periscope - don't tell anyone especially all my friends that i have always criticized for their Reality TV show watching :)
#QOTD 1: Writing blog posts, streaming on Meerkat and giving away artwork #QOTD 2: My favorite app has been meerkkat the connections there have been better than any other app I have used.
I feel like you put that website up on the whiteboard in the background to measure the amount of influence something random in the background of your show has on your viewerbase. Like some kind of advertisement measurement without the advertisement. Or maybe I'm just totally over-thinking it all and it means nothing. But probably not. ;) QOTD 2: WorkLife has really caught my attention the past month or so (worklife.com). Trying to organize meetings at work more and plan them out/take notes. Love trying new things and giving this one a legitimate shot. Liking it so far, but we'll see.
Keep kicking ass Gary!! My plans for this weekend are to keep training for American Ninja Warrior, work on building my website for my startup, AND kick the CRAP out of Bradley University when we (Northern Illinois University) play them this weekend in hockey Friday and Saturday. My favorite app is called ET Inspires by Eric Thomas, or ET The Hip Hop Preacher, one of the top 5 motivational speakers in the world, followed him since the Guru video (if not, search Eric Thomas Secrets to Success video, went viral). He has an app that allows people to interact, listen to his free music/mixtapes he's made, and gives out daily/weekly motivation. It's well designed, well crafted, easily accessible.
Periscope is my new obsession, but I just downloaded Meerkat hearsay because you reference it so much. I'm happy for the winners and I am going to watch another episode before work right nowwwww!
QOTD: My weekend plans are also related to my new app obsession. I'm trying really hard to figure out Beme, so we're gonna talk through it on Dudes' Brunch this Sunday. Doing some podcast networking on Twitter throughout the weekend to build hype for that.
Periscope is giving me my new fix!! And this weekend...I have been doing some much needed cleaning. Can't grind when your room and life is in a mess unless thats how you do things. Just about to finish crush it as well! Dopeness my brother! Dopeness! Im late to the party, but I won't be anymore! #Foolies10K approved! Be blessed! Take care!
I want to use it for business Brent Sibley..I just gotta do it and stop talking about it. But my data with AT&T has been going over lately because of all these new apps that need constant data to run lol. So I may have to get my own wireless router and then I can use peri more!! Follow Kim garst. She's a beast on Peri.
Is the reason I am always having 'connection' issues because I need a personal wireless router? Wth, something else I am going to have to learn quickly!
#QOTDPT2 My favorite app has been RockBot. When I go out to eat at, say, BWW, I can pick the music that plays on the station and it's really cool. The first time I was using it there was one other "DJ" in the room and we found each other and started talking. It led to a business relationship and because of our similar interest in music we became friends. It's relatively new and I've been an early adopter for sure. I really enjoy it.
#QOTD part 1, I'm going to be spending some time revamping my website. #QOTD part 2, Periscope all the way man. And I see what you did with the white board there, and I clicked the link.
So for this weeks #qotd I plan on filming some gear reviews for my UA-cam channel and to finally travel to this abandoned warehouse in my area. For number two. I've been interested by Beme. Still trying to figure out if there's a point.
I'm late to the game responding here, because I'm a new subscriber this week and catching up on all the shows, but I'm still going to answer the QOTDs. =) This weekend I'm going to my nephew and new step-niece's 2nd birthday party and doing some organizing at home. My favorite app is Instagram right now. It's not new to me at all, but it's by far the most enjoyable platform for me. I've been getting away from Facebook and heading there instead. I just seem to have more positive and enjoyable interactions. Thanks for the great content and I look forward to binge watching more of the past episodes!
1) Plan: Is connect with tons of people who share my passion, watches, on Instagram. Figure out how to get a job within that industry doing customer love through the internet. No family things planned since my wife has to work. She works fulltime while I get a job. She is struggling with this immigration process of mine. I feel tons of bad inside. 2) Instagram. Tons of connections and talking with people who share the same interests. Instagram has been dominant for the last few months! The #watchfam is growing on there :-) That website needs more jpeg! Get on it Steve Unwin
#QOTD 1: Have a fun gig today herding corporate incentive event participants around town (Asheville) on a party bus serving wine and showing them the sites. After that working on some ideas for a new client (super cool visionary art clothing check it out at visionlabart.com). Sunday is all about my lady so we will be hitting a picnic on top of a mountain because wine and cheese is even better at 3000+ feet. #QOTD 2: Strangely enough over the past 2 weeks I have been deep tinkering with invisionapp protoyping random UX ideas for dream apps and have been building websites with mobirise. Also Lynda, learning stuff is dope. Good show today, feeling it!
I'm Skating some Pools with some old friends from 25 years ago! Guys I would have never seen again had it not been for technology! Instagram & Facebook! Technology is enabling! Flipside Periscope is my latest obsession as of yesterday! I haven't broadcasted yet. Just browsing, getting connected and ready. Did you cover Periscope in an #askgaryveeshow that I may have missed? Please advise.
Qotd this weekend not entirely sure at this moment, I might go to the lake. The app or website I think is a recent obsession is Pinterest. And tumblr is grabbing my attention again.
As soon as Gary mentioned targeting VaynerMedia employees with a Facebook ad, I said, "Awww shit! Why didn't I think of that." If anyone isn't familiar with Simon Sinek, watch his excellent TED talk "How great leaders inspire action" www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action
#QOTD: had Chinese dinner and watched a musical put on by some short-term exchange students, church and rest tomorrow; been getting into Robb Wolf's Paleolithic Solution podcast lately. He's great.
***** Excellent answer to Simon's question. I was thinking the same thing but you were able to articulate it very well. I'm always doing the thing that I think provides the best value for me in the moment. (I watch the AskGaryVee show so that I can attribute better value to my time - everyone can use a good coach) I think you are generalizing too much with the image of the couple that are looking at their phones and not engaging with each other. Having the close company of another is good enough for some people and they don't need to be talking necessarily. I had a date with a gf a long time (loooong time) ago where we made origami for a few hours and maybe traded 3 sentences of conversation with each other. We confirmed later that is was an amazing time.
#QOTD2 : i'm probably gonna be weird here. Its Twitter. In Brazil, Twitter was never a thing (only really popping now) and I was never a fan. Now, after watching GaryVee for quite a while, I'm just loving it. My weekend will be probably just gaming with husband *saturday* and creating stuff on monday.
Paula Shin Hey Paula, what kind of gaming do you and your husband get up to? We're nerds for role-playing games & board games. It's cool that you'll get to be one of the "early adapters" in Brazil! A music major friend was super into Twitter in the early days & it seems like he's doing amazing in NYC. -Nerdarchist Ryan
Hi Gary, Love the show. Currently swallowing all of your content - Crush it Audiobook, Thank you Economy Audiobook and I'm up to episode 58 on this show (I started 10 days ago). I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this knowledge, I have learned so much and from now on will change how I use my social media because of you. I would ask you to hold off searching my twitter profile for now so you can see a before GV and after GV. If I can do anything for you, it'd be my pleasure. No charge, of course!
#QOTD: (1) this past weekend I worked pretty diligently on a little side gig venture thing I'm grinding on, and (2) I'm gearing up for fantasy football, so I've been really digging the mock draft simulator over at "the fake football" (thefakefootball.com/mock-draft-simulator/).

#QOTD 1. A little yard work a lot of hustle 2. Periscope
Great show G.V. the question from Simon and your response was brilliant. Time to get him on an episode!!!
New viewer. Love him. So energetic. So authentic. So RAW. Makes me want to CRUSH IT in my business!
"Find your way to level up your ability to look at things at a net score . . ." Yes!
QOTD1: Work and the beach
QOTD2:Periscope has been on fire the last week. Loving it!!!
The last 7 minutes of this show or from Simon's question on, needs to be on it's own.
I will share the CRAP out of that all over the internet. I totally agree. I've met people that have changed the course of my life and seem to always be on the defense about social media.

I love the idea of looking at life through the lens of "net score" vs worrying about day-to-day micro wins and losses. #thankyou
Gary, Simon, Casey, and Tim are my morning cup of coffee.
Gary thank you for doing what your doing.
I think you are actually the modern philosopher.
Like Nitche style so you are the philosopher for this decade.
QOTD1: It's the last few days of summer break so I'm spending time with my parents and kids, eating and going to the pool.

Congrats Matthew, Webly and Dallas... What an opportunity! Great show... Loved the point on birds eye view or net game vs day to day!!
Simply the best episode to date! Lots of value on many different fronts. And with Simon Sinek to boot! Thanks *****

UA-cam has been my obsession. It's the school of our times and the TV as well.
That 'net-net' answer was gold! +QOTD 2: fav. app: instagram...trying to get into beme!
Manuel Hernandez I agree #golden

#QOTD: Pt 1 - Plans for the weekend: BBQ, Paintball and biking.
Pt 2 - Favorite most recent app: Periscope.
Althought its not a new app but its new to me as a user Air BnB as I travel alot. Using it for my latest trips
Keep it up, every episode is getting better! I wish Canada was able to enter the contest. o/ Congrats to the winners, that's gonna be dope!
The #watchfam is growing on there :-)
That website needs more jpeg! Get on it Steve Unwin
Do a foreign contest one day! :) Keep up the good work & congrats to the winners!
love this show theres so much to learn from him
#QOTD 1: Have a fun gig today herding corporate incentive event participants around town (Asheville) on a party bus serving wine and showing them the sites.
Quibi has been my obsession for the past days!
I'm Skating some Pools with some old friends from 25 years ago! Guys I would have never seen again had it not been for technology! Instagram & Facebook! Technology is enabling! Flipside
Periscope is my latest obsession as of yesterday! I haven't broadcasted yet. Just browsing, getting connected and ready.
Did you cover Periscope in an #askgaryveeshow that I may have missed? Please advise.
Lmfao at 11:40 where Gary puts his show on the table, throws his cash at the camera... and then forgets the question lmfao😂😂😂
I Love the ulr behing gary, Inner circle Love, Thx a lot for all you work and content gary!!
Some people are kickin' themselves for not spending that 40 dollars.
Love it ***** - keep them coming! :)
QOTD Part 1 - Learning from @treehouse. Chillin with my new puppy and replicating a Cuban sandwich from Ballard Seattle.
QOTD Part 2 - ProductHunt
QOTD: My weekend plans are to crush a job interview, and good see my friends band play a great live show!
Carl Stacey Good luck on your job interview :)
Carl Stacey CRUSH that SH*T! :)

Love, love , loooove that shirt! Where does one obtain??? And on another note, when are you taking over the Jet team Gary?? Let's do this!!
Why didn't I think of that."
If anyone isn't familiar with Simon Sinek, watch his excellent TED talk "How great leaders inspire action" www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action
Ur a beast gary. keep motivating the people
I think people who bet on the "big picture" will always end up on top.
just got on the reddit train (SUPER LATE) but man I am in love with it
QOTD: 1. Finishing some designs, 2. Favorite App/Web Site Pinterest.
Plans are to recover this back injury and I've been messing with Beme every single day trying to figure it out lol
(I watch the AskGaryVee show so that I can attribute better value to my time - everyone can use a good coach)
I think you are generalizing too much with the image of the couple that are looking at their phones and not engaging with each other. Having the close company of another is good enough for some people and they don't need to be talking necessarily. I had a date with a gf a long time (loooong time) ago where we made origami for a few hours and maybe traded 3 sentences of conversation with each other. We confirmed later that is was an amazing time.
Celebrate closing on a house and my birthday!
I'm digging medium!
BOOM! There I am watching old #AskGaryVee Show episodes and a new one pops up :)
All best, Alex
QOTD: BEME is on the move *****
This actually is my first time watching
Boom! Another hit!
#QOTD Part 1 Working at the Shop
Part 2 WordSwag
#QOTD: (1) this past weekend I worked pretty diligently on a little side gig venture thing I'm grinding on, and (2) I'm gearing up for fantasy football, so I've been really digging the mock draft simulator over at "the fake football" (thefakefootball.com/mock-draft-simulator/).
uh oh, the sneaker take off! awesome you always have a prop!
